In the Sink Today

Happy Monday friends! I have a big day ahead . . . the 3 older children are off to Grammy's for the day. Aaron and I are headed down to meet my friend Jana, along with her daugher and niece for a little shopping (Michaels of course!) and lunch. I so excited! Jana is one of my blogging friends and we're getting to meet for the first time! You probably all are familiar with Jana and her blog, Jana's Creative Pursuits in Stamping (check it out if not), she does really great work! She and her family currently live in Germany but she grew up in Maine, which is how our connection was made. She's here in the states visiting her new nephew in Boston (who's having surgery today so say a prayer for him!) and it's a great chance for us to meet! Yea!

I have a really fun card to share today! I made this card at least a week ago but haven't had a chance to post it until now. The stamps are Playful Christmas - one of the newest holiday stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The set contains several different sized 2 step trees. When I saw this designer paper (by Sandy Lion and in the Paper Pretties Corner Store) I knew I HAD to use it for this card - isn't it perfect for these stamps?! I used several different sizes for the trees and stamped them randomly using a mask for some. Did you know that all clear stamps are not created equal?? After using several different acrylic stamps over this past year I have to say that these KSS are beautifully made - they are the highest quality photopolymer and you can definitely tell the difference! It was so easy to stamp the trees and then line up the top layer - they stamp so nicely!

I also wanted to share this card that I made for Julee's Mojo Monday #12. I was a bit late in posting this for Julee's challenge but I loved this sketch and am so pleased with the outcome. The paper is . . you guessed it, Webster's Pages from their holiday collection. I simply love the striped paper but I've been at a loss for how to use it - this sketch seemed perfect!! The non-traditional colors in the paper are what I used for the trees, and are so fun on a Christmas card! I used Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Ruby Red, and Caribbean Blue (with a tiny bit of Bashful Blue ink added to get the right color). The sentiment is from a new set being released next Monday.

There are some exciting things going on for Kitchen Sink Stamps . . . today is the unveiling of a secret project by one of the Kitchen Sink Crew Becky Oehlers. She has been torturing us for weeks with little hints, teasing us with her project! :) Her project (and it is amazing!!) is the new Project of the Month so check it out on the KSS website or on her awesome blog Hemidemisemiquaver (I just had to type it all out - isn't that a great word?!!). In one week, on December 3, 4 new stamp sets will be available from Kitchen Sink Stamps! You've seen parts of one today and here, it's called Never a Loss 4 Words - and it's awesome! The font is so unique and fun and there are different sizes used and tons of words! Look for a peak at the new sets on the KSS website and while you're there take a look at the Gallery for lots of great cards and ideas!

I hope you all have a great Monday - the big countdown to Christimas is on! Do any of you have your shopping done? Me? Nope, but I'm getting there! Thanks for stopping in today, I do really appreciate you all!
