Filled With Love for WCMD!

Good morning and Happy World Card Making Day!! It's always such a fun day! Today the eclectic Paperie design team has created some cards for your viewing pleasure! I should also tell you that there is a big WCMD sale going on at eclectic Paperie, you'll find lots of your favorite goodies and what better day to shop! :)

My card today uses a fun set from Sweet Stamp Shop. The set is Afternoon Delight and wouldn't you know it's one of the sets on sale today!

I chose to paper piece the totally cute mason jar stamp for my CAS card. I also used the fabulous Wplus9 Pinking Squares die - totally love that die set!!

I stamped the two jars lightly on the sides and colored them lightly too. I wanted the center image to really be the focus. The paper is Echo Park, Everyday Eclectic.

WCMD - Seasonal Challenge

Welcome back! Have you finished your tag for the Stamping Around challenge??  Well, finish that up and then check out the 3 challenges that  Paper Pretties is hosting today. The first, from Jana, was earlier this morning and can be seen on The Paper Clip. The second challenge is from Jackie, to create a card celebrating your favorite season.
I LOVE Fall - always have! I love the crisp air, that special color of a Fall afternoon - do you know what I mean by that? The light changes in the Fall and it always makes me feel happy! I love turtlenecks and comfy sweaters and the smell of fresh applesauce cooking on the stove! So my card uses Pick of the Patch from Paper Pretties and since pumpkins are part of Fall I made a shaped card using my Pumpkin Nestabilities.

WCMD - Stamping Around Challenge

Good morning!  It's World Card Making Day and as promised I have 2 posts today hightlighting some fun challenges and chances to win prizes!!

First, Stamping Around is hosting a challenge on Paper Craft Planet's WCMD Group Hop!  The challenge will go live at 11 a.m. EST in our Stamping Around Group on PCP and you can also view it HERE on the Stamping Around site!  Check out Kim's ultra-cute tag!!  There's also a list and pic of the great prize package you can win just for participating!!

ETA:  I finished my tag!! Yea!! I used a super cute stamp set Autumn Garden from Our Craft Lounge, one of the Class Sponsors at our recent Stamping Around Vermont!  I just love this set and with just a tiny bit of masking it was easy to create a scene (the other part of our challenge) behind the garden gate!  This set sure gives you some coloring practice with Copics or whatever your color medium of choice is.  I even did a bit of distressing around the edges (how 'bout that Kim??!!), I added some light clouds with a sponge and cloud template and used some Sparkly Fluff on the inside of the sunflowers.  Oh, and the crow is cut out and popped up for dimension!

Tomorrow is World Card Making Day - which I'm sure you know about since it's everywhere!! What a fun time to clear your calendar and devote some time to card-making . . . and hey, here's an idea, card sending!! I'm soooo bad about that, but I think I'll try extra hard tomorrow to not only make my cards but send them to some people who need encouragement or thanks!

It'd even be a great time to spend with the family - my children love to make cards!! In fact, today is hubby's b-day and that's what they all did this morning, make him a card! It was so cute to see my 7 yr old helping the 2 yr old make a card for Daddy - complete with Daddy's favorite animal, a deer! Daddy's so blessed that every year either on his birthday or very near it is the opening of the regular bowhunting season - how's that for a present?! :)

So, back to WCMD. I just wanted to pop in and say that I'll have links to a couple challenges for you tomorrow! First, Paper Pretties will be posting 3 challenges for you on The Paper Clip. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 in the evening. You can pick 1 to do (or all 3 if you like). On the 5th at 11:00 pm we'll draw a winner from the entry's in the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery (please use keyword WCMD when you upload your card) to receive a Season of Joy stamp set - one of our new releases. TGIF!! :) It's a busy one here today!

Here's another card that I made for a WCMD challenge over on SCS. Alas, I'm not doing so well in the "random winner" category these days (LOL!) but it was so much fun to participate! This was for the inspiration challenge, the inspiration was the current cover of Coldwater Creek catalog. What a great time to pull our 3 Step Autumn Squirrel from Kitchen Sink Stamps!

This card was very simple to do! I've used variations of this layout before and it works so well for many images. The sentiment is from 3 Step Turkey Trot and I just love it - I really do have so much to be thankful for!

Hello friends!! Did you happen to notice my very cool, bejeweled Search box over there on the left? I love it!! Sara is just the best ever - I was frustrated having to scroll through my blog to find things so she hooked me right up!! Oh and she made the Blogger bar at the top "auto hide" and she's working on another little goodie for me to reveal in the near future! :) Thanks so much Sara!! Ok, since the weekend was so busy I didn't get to do any WCMD challenges until today. SCS had a whole day of challenges and chances to win prizes from some generous sponsors! This card today was for the sketch challenge - great sketch right?! :) I am sooooo loving my Whiskers stamp from Paper Pretties - in fabulous rubber!! She stamps so neatly! I colored her with Copic markers and then added some white Fun Flock over the color - just love the fuzziness! I was going for a "Morris the Cat" type of look, hhhmmm . . . :) The paper is from My Favorite Things, great colors!

Ok, on to the challenge . . . my challenge to you is to create a card or project using BLING!! I love using gems, glitter and basically anything sparkle-y! So now I want to see what you come up with - remember all our challenges today must be holiday cards (for any holiday coming in the next 3 months).

Here are 2 cards I made using BLING! The first one uses Playful Christmas, Backgrounds & Borders (the patterned stamped on the tree which happen to match the dp perfectly!) and Never A Loss 4 Words. I love this set - it's so versatile, you can create lots of different looks with it! (remember you can click on the pictures to view them larger).

For the next card I wanted to use a completely different style to show that BLING goes with anything!! :) I used 3 Step Holly & Mistletoe for this card and some pretty Webster's Pages paper. Since the paper has text on it I could stamp the pretty holly and not worry about a sentiment. The pretty sparkles here are Swaroski crystals!

World Card Making Day with KSS!

I'm sure by now you've seen all over blogland that Saturday, October 4th is World Card Making Day! (For details about the history go here). Kitchen Sink Stamps is going to be hosting a day of challenges - there will be 7 in all - and you have a chance to win beautiful handmade prizes as well as a grand prize of KSS Stamps!

Sound good? Ok, here's what you need to know. Challenges begin at 11:00 a.m. EST and here is the schedule:

I think that covers it! Ok, to get you in a little holiday, card-making mood . . . here's a card I made using 3 Step Turkey Trot. Can you believe how real that turkey looks?! I used some pretty Webster's Pages paper and a gold paint pen to spruce up the embossed edge of my panels. The sentiment is from Vintage Words - one of my new "go to" sentiment sets!

Here's my recipe for the turkey (all inks are available in the KSS store: Step 1 - Desert Sand (Memento), Step 2 - Rich Cocoa, Ladybug Red (for his beard) (Memento), Step 3: Starlite Black, Pearlescent Poppy (Brilliance).
