Window Card

Last week at the Paper Pretties release party, Stamping In Your Jammies one of the challenges was to create a window card - and whatever that was was left up to your interpretation!

I created a window in my card and lined it with acetate. I used one of the newest Paper Pretties stamps, Season of Thanksgiving! Such a fun one to color! :) I just love the colors from the pretty Bo Bunny patterned paper!

Check out the rest of the Newly Released stamps - I love them all!!

Cardstock: Apricot Appeal (SU!), Cream (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny, Stamps: Season of Thanksgiving (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Nestabilities, Copics, Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Acetate, Corner Rounder punch

Prettie Release Challenge

Saturday was the latest Paper Pretties Release and I missed it since I was traveling back from Orlando and CHA. I always miss the fun night chatting with the Prettie Peeps! I was able to get a few of the challenges done though before I left and Christie was kind enough to upload them for me. Check out the newly released stamps here.

One of the challenges was to use buttons as your only embellishment. I chose to use Aloha Sophia which is now available for anyone to purchase (it was a past Stamp of the Month club stamp). I used almost a monochromatic color scheme and a variety of pretty pink buttons strung with some twine across the bottom.

You can see the rest of the cards for the Stamping In Your Jammies release party in the Paper Pretties Gallery!

Have a wonderful day my friends! :)

Cardstock: Regal Rose, Black (SU!), Pure Luxury White (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye, Stamps: Aloha Sophia (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Buttons, Twine (Papertrey Ink), Blossom Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder, Copic markers, foam adhesive

Aloha - New SOTM

Hello friends!! Last night was our monthly Stamping In Your Jammies party at Paper Pretties and you may now purchase Make a Splash Sophia and view the newest Stamp of the Month Club stamp, Aloha!

We only had one challenge last night - to make a card using the Baby Wipe Technique. I've never tried this technique before and I wasn't sure it would work with my homemade baby wipes, but I think it did. How about that Aloha Sophia?? Isn't she adorable!! If you just can't wait to have here, go sign up here for the Stamp of the Month club - I promise you will not regret it!!

I don't have a great selection of reinkers but I used Certainly Celery and Cool Caribbean for my background. I punched out my sentiment with a 3/4" circle punch and then used an epoxy sticker over the top to add some dimension.

Thanks for visiting today - have a great day!

Cardstock: Cool Caribbean, Temping Turquoise (SU!), Green (Bazzill), White (Papertrey Ink), Glossy cardstock, Stamps: Aloha Sophia (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Flowers, circle punch, epoxy stickers, Copic markers, Corner Round punch

Give Thanks

Hello my friends! I have my last card for the Paper Pretties release night. This image is Give Thanks Sophia and it is the June Stamp of the Month Club stamp from Paper Pretties! I've actually had her for such a looooonnng time and have been just aching to show you how simply adorable and sweet she is!

I used some just dp that I've had for quite a while - it's so pretty I've been hoarding! :) Some of it is actually still available in the Paper Pretties Boutique - it's Paper Salon, the Pristine collection (scroll down to the bottom of the page) I pieced her dress and then die cut a few circles with the dp as accents. The perfectly matching button was a sweet find!

You have until the end of the month to join the Stamp of the Month Club to get this sweetie - why wait! Have a great day!

Cardstock: Brown (Bazzill), White (GP), Patterned Paper: Paper Salon Pristine, Stamps: Give Thanks (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Ribbon (May Arts), Button

A Color Challenge or Two . . .

At our last Paper Pretties release party one of the challenge was a color challenge, Tango Tangerine, Chocolate Chip and Kraft. For my card I pulled out the brand new set Home Sweet Home from Fat Cat Stamps for Paper Pretties.

The images in this set are so much fun! I chose the set of packing boxes for my card. I forget the exact size, but this card is pretty small, around 3x3.5 or so. The boxes are colored with Copics, cut out and then layered on the Tangerine oval using foam adhesive.

Have you tried this week's Prettie Challenge yet? You have until Wednesday at midnight to enter the Mystery Color Combo Challenge - Apricol Appeal, Soft Sky, Not Quite Navy and ???? - you fill in the blank! You could win a $5 gift certificate to the Paper Pretties Boutique!

Cardstock: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, White (Papertrey Ink), Tango Tangerine (SU!), Stamps: Home Sweet Home (Fat Cat Stamps/Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Copic Markers, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, Word Window Punch, Brads (Pink Hedgehog Crats), Corner Rounder punch, Ribbon (Kitchen Sink Stamps)

Happy Birthday Christie!

Ok, so now it's late, but Friday night at the Paper Pretties Stamping In Your Jammies party our first challenge was to make birthday card for Christie - our little birthday surprise for her! :) This new stamp set from Paper Pretties, Canadian Girl seemed to be the perfect choice since Christie is Canadian. And of course it had to be pink - Christie is all about pink! Who wouldn't love a cute pink sweater like that - I actually have an Old Navy pink t-shirt with an American flag in the center so I knew this would work.

The layout is from Jenn Balcer's Weekend Sketch Challenge #79. It seemed to work very well with some pretty Pink Paislee scalloped edge paper. I added a few red Swarovski crystals under the sentiment because, well a girl needs bling on her birthday right?! :)

Be sure to check out all the new releases - there was Canadian Girl & Lady Liberty, Hola Chica was released to the public and we introduced a brand new line - Fat Cat Stamps! and its premier stamp set Home Sweet Home. Oh and we previewed the new June Stamp of the Month - Give Thanks Sophia.

Thanks for visiting today, have a wonderful day!

Cardstock: Sweet Blush, White, Soft Stone (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee
Stamps: Canadian Girl (Paper Pretties), sentiment from Faux Ribbon (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento
Accessories: Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Dimensionals, Nestabilities, Copic markers, Swarovski crystals

Tee-Rific!

Good morning! Another one of the challenges issued at the most recent Paper Pretties' Stamping In Your Jammies party was to make a card using your clothing as inspiration (i.e. the clothes you were wearing while making the card). Fun concept! and I saw some really cute cards made by all the ladies that night . . . unfortunately my "outfit" that day was totally boring - brown pants, cream sweater . . ugh!

Oh well, it did seem like a perfect opportunity to make a masculine card using one of the newest releases - Right On Par!

I started with a great sketch from Karen Motz (another one from our sketch swap at Stamp New England) a piece of dp (from Papertrey Ink) and a cute little golf ball for the sentiment (although I must admit it was not my original idea - both Jackie and Frances had made totally adorable cards using a golf ball idea like this!).

It's hard to tell in the pic but the brads in the corner are green to match the green behind the golf ball for a pop of color! I think this would be a great card for any guy in your life - golf lover or not!

Did you see what else Paper Pretties released this month?? STORAGE!! Yippy! And it is beautiful!!! I am sooooo in love with my yummy Celery Binder - we are talking high quality, super pretty, sturdy and very useful! All my Pretties stamps are happy to have a new home, although I'm thinking I may need another one already - lol! :)

Cardstock: Vanilla (Papertrey Ink), Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi (SU!), Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink, Stamps: Right On Par (Paper Pretties), Ink: Wild Wasabi (SU!), Rich Cocoa (Memento), Accessories: Copic markers, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Brads (Pink Hedgehog Crafts)

Love you . . .

Happy Saturday! I don't know about you but I've got a busy day ahead! So have you seen all the sneak peeks the Prettie Girls have been posting? Amazing stuff!! I couldn't wait to use the newest Cooper set - this is Love You This Much, adorable or what??!! Anyone who has boys must have this set! The sentiments are just the best - ones that I'm sure we all say to our children!

There is something about boys in orange that I just love! My boys have a little Old Navy orange ballcap that I think is just so cute! Aaron also has a long-sleeved version of this shirt (without the number) in orange and it's one of my favorites!

A few final reminders . . . TODAY is the last day to enter the Cutie Pie contest - submit your Paper Pretties card by uploading it into the Cutie Pie Gallery (it's a locked gallery so you won't be able to see it, but when you upload your card you can choose it from the drop-down menu). TODAY is also the last day to sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club if you must have Sophia Ballerina before she's publically released in April. Check out all the
for a taste of what you're in for - holy cow!! :)

Finally, the party starts tomorrow night in the Paper Pretties Forum at 7 pm EST - be there for a FUN night!! :)

Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie (SU!), White (Papertrey Ink), Blue (Bazzill), Patterned Paper: Scenic Route, Stamps: Love You This Much (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Brad (Making Memories), Copic Markers, Nestabilities, Ribbon (SU!),

Pink & Blue

Good Morning!! This is going to be quick because my laptop is in the shop (nothing bad- just a little tweaking) and so I have to use the PC which is in the coldest room of the house . . . brrrr!! I'm very behind on blurfing right now which makes me sad but I'll get there at some point! :)

Ok, last week at the Paper Pretties Stamping In Your Jammies party Charmaine gave us a color challenge, pink, blue & white. Since Snowflake Kisses was being re-released in rubber that night I decided to use that set. Do you remember the Search for Snowflake? This was the very FIRST PP set and it's still adorable!! This card looks much better IRL - the snowflake has big chunky MS Snow glitter on it, the snowflakes on the blue have Carrara Marble glitter on them and I colored a bit of the snow around Snowflake (the penguin) using a Spica pen.

Cardstock: White (Gina K), Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink), Bashful Blue (SU!), Stamps: Snowflake Kisses (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Copic Markers, Carrara Marble glitter, Snow glitter (MS Crafts), Snowflake punch (Marvvy), Blue gem brad (Target), Spica Pen, White Brads (Pink Hedgeshog), Mini Brads (Queen & Co.), Pink Ribbon (Papertrey Ink) Blue velvet Ribbon (Michaels), Cuttlebug & snow embossing folder, Heat & Stick powder (SU!)

This is just a little bonus card today. I mentioned that it was Anna's 5th birthday yesterday - can't believe time has gone that fast!! I left myself about 10 minutes to whip out her card. It's not very different from the invitations I posted last week, but I like to make them coordinating anyway. I even remembered to add a bit of the striped paper to the inside this time! The stamp is this month's Stamp of the Month Club stamp at Paper Pretties and you have until December 31st to sign up to get her.

Cardstock: Real Red, WW, Vellum (SU!), Shimmer paper (Bo Bunny), Stamps: Gliding By (Paper Pretties - December SOTM), Faux Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Tuxedo Black, Ladybug Red (Memento), Accessories: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Silver brads (Pink Hedgehog), Copic markers, Fun Flock (Stampendous), Silver pen

Have a great day everyone!!

We had FUN!

We had such a fun night Friday at Paper Pretties Stamping In Your Jammies where 4 sets and 2 sentiments were released. The newest Cutie Pie was announcement - Congrats Stephanie Hargis - go see her cute winning card! Charmaine comes up with the best challenges for us! The first was to make a black and white card with a splash of 1 color. We heard a lot of the word "cheater" - lol that night and I'm guilty because technically I used 2 colors . . but I needed them both!

I didn't plan to make one, but it end up being a gel card - my first one - fun!! (if you want to give one a try check out this great tutorial). I learned a couple of things making this card that I thought I'd share - maybe I'll save you some cardstock ;)

1. Since I used my Nestabilites to cut the circles you must cut the circles FIRST - before you emboss with your Cuttlebug folders (otherwise the embossing flattens!).
2. If you are stamping where there will be embossing, it's best to stamp BEFORE you emboss - duh - that one should have been obvious but yeah, I ended up doing it twice! :)
3. In order to line up the circles perfectly I tried to cut the smaller circle first through both layers - it didn't quite go through both layers, but it left enough of an impression that I was able to then cut each layer separately using the impressions as guides.

I used the new set Bugs and Fishes - isn't Wade E. Bug adorable with his snorkel gear on??!! Love his old-time swimsuit! The challenge was fun and the cards the other ladies came up with were so fun! Go check out all the challenge cards here! I'll be back tomorrow with a Prettie Wednesday challenge card and a few other treats!! :)

Final note - REMEMBER today is the day you can purchase the new Kitchen Sink Stamps - 7 new sets!! Check out all the KSS Crew members blogs (on my right sidebar) for their wonderful samples with all the new sets - I'll have another one tomorrow! :)

Cardstock: WW, Basic Black, Bashful Blue (SU!), Stamps: Bugs and Fishes (Paper Pretties), Inks: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Soft Sky ribbon, gel, ziploc, Copics, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder
