Beee Mine - SSS41

Happy Weekend!  It's time for another Saturday Sketch from The Sweet Stop.  I'm having so much fun on this team - aren't the sketches great?!  I hope you've gotten a chance to give them a try -and be sure to leave the link over at The Sweet Stop so we can see!

For my card today I pulled out this little cutie Huggabugg from Stamping Bella. This is Beeemine Huggabugg.  The dp is some luscious pink, red and brown Valentine paper from American Crafts - I love it!  I colored the image with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to the little bug's heart.  The little pearls added on her antennae and in the corner are some new (to me) little Zva pearls - very fun!

Take a minute and hop over to The Sweet Stop blog for a look at what the Sugar Babies have done this week.  And visit their blogs to leave them some love!

A Card and More Treats!

Good morning! Quick post today as I have sick kiddos here - not sure who it will be today but we had 2 with a stomach bug yesterday so it's just a waiting game now!

I used the Clean & Simple Stamping FTL#75 to make a card using Rubber Soul stamps and paper.  I love how this turned out!  The quote is from a Rubber Soul/Wordsworth set called Peace and the paper is Meadow's Edge.  I stamped the leaf image several times in the right corner using Soft Sky, Fresh Snow and Taken With Teal inks.  I also stamped the little star block a few times using Soft Sky ink and added some tiny rhinestones to a few of them.

How about another prize package in celebration of my 3 years of blogging?!  I have a few treats courtesy of Rubber Soul including a paper pack, an alphabet set and a cute little Heart Flower stamp.

I've also included a few issues of Paper Crafts Magazine - one of them is the BRAND NEW Stamp It magazine that is just out.  I just happen to have a card in - and it's a Rubber Soul card!  :)  The whole magazine is just beautiful so if you don't win be sure to pick one up!

Leave me a comment on this post - what would you like to see more of here? what questions can I answer? how can I make this blog more helpful for you?  I'd love to know what you want to see!!  I'll pick a winner on Tuesday!  Have a great Friday my friends!

Cardstock:  White (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: Meadow's Edge (Rubber Soul), Stamps: Peace (Rubber Soul), Ink: Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink), Soft Sky, Taken With Teal (SU!), Black (Memento), Accessories: White Satin Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), rhinestones (Taylored Expressions), foam adhesive

Where's Mary and 3 Cards!

Here's one final chance for the winner of my Paper Pretties' blogaversary prize to claim it!  The winner was:

Love your card! I like to combine a hot pink with a warm chocolate brown. Thanks for a chance to win.

Please contact me today Mary.  If I do not hear from her, I will chose a new winner so stay tuned!

Ok, did any of you play along with the CHA Relay over at The Greeting Farm?  Such a fun idea and, Yea for them! they had a HUGE response!  The relay is over but I have 3 of my cards to share with you.  These are all digi images.  First up, MerIan- cute huh?!  I paired him up with some Scenic Route paper (the Grafton line).  He was colored, cut-out and added to the pinked circle.

Cardstock: Green, Aqua (Bazzill),
Patterned Paper: Grafton (Scenic Route)
Digi Image: MerIan (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Folder (Provocraft), foam adhesive, ribbon (May Arts), Brads (Pink Hedgehog Crafts), Twine (Papertrey Ink) Button

Next (and I think my favorite) is Charlotte.  She looked a bit sassy to me so I "glammed" her up a bit - adding a clear rhinestone to her belt (which is all sparkly itself), making the polka dots on her headband and scarf white and giving her some pretty hoop earrings (tiny little jump ring type things).  The layout is one I've used before but I think it's super fun!

Cardstock: Marigold Morning (SU!), Pure Poppy (PTI), White (Gina K Designs)
Patterned Paper: Imaginisce (Twitterpated)
Digi Image: The Greeting Farm (Charlotte)
Stamps: Vintage Picnic (PTI)
Accessories: scalloped punch (SU), ribbon (PTI), foam adhesive, Copic markers, white gel pen

Last, this is Toby Cub and I decided he'd make a very cute baby card.  I used paper from the Nana's Nursery paper stack and the fun ribbon treatmnet of pulling one of the stitched threads to make it gather. The sketch is actually Mercy's Sketch #58 for this week - another great one!

I received the last image yesterday but didn't have time to use it yet - we had a full day yesterday and then my sweet Anna got sick (right in the frozen food section of the grocery store - but I'll spare you the gorey details!)

Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Marigold Morning (SU!), White (GP)
Patterned Paper: Nana's Nursery
Digi Image: TGF
Stamps: sentiment from Papertrey Ink
Ink: Certainly Celery & Black
Accessories: foam adhesive, Copic markers, Nestabilities, Ribbon (PTI)

Happy Thursday my friends!

Prettie Button-y Wednesday Birthday Hop

Phew - say that 5 times fast! :)  Not only do we have our usual Prettie Wednesday Hop but today it's a Prettie Birthday Hop for the fabulous Wendy!!  Woot!  Anyone who knows Wendy has to love her - she has an energy and a great sense of humor that is contagious!  I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy in 2008 on the Stamping Cruise.

So hopefully you hopped here from Christie's blog - that's the starting point.  Today the Prettie Girls will be using Made With Love and Dream  Boat from Paper Pretties.  These 2 stamps will be on sale for 20% off for this entire week.  Ok, our challenge today (from Jackie) was to use buttons as an embellishment! You can use other things, but you must have buttons somewhere on your card.  I came up with a pretty clean & simple (CAS) card with some fun October Afternoon paper and the Made With Love image. The card measures 5" x 3.5"

Your next stop on the hop is Jana's blog!  Be sure to finish up the hop and give Wendy some birthday love! :)

Cardstock:  Soft Sky, Apricot Appeal (SU!), Ivory (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Stamps: Made With Love (Paper Pretties), sentiment from Vintage Picnic (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic markers, Buttons (Papertrey Ink)

KSS Valentine

I really hope that no one has abandoned me due to the excessive use of pink and hearts lately! LOL!  I suppose it will have to end soon but today I have a Kitchen Sink Stamps romantic Valentine.  I also jumped on the crinkled paper flower bandwagon - yes I did!  We've been seeing them everywhere and you can see how to create them here on Dawn McVey's blog - too cute!

I used regular copy paper to make my flowers and the script type block from the Kitchen Sink Stamps set Letters From the Past stamped in Hibiscus ink.  I also inked the edges of the flowers with Chamomile ink.  I used the script type stamp again stamped in Fresh Snow ink for the large circle in the back.  I used 3 Step Hearts to stamp my floral heart as follows:  Step 1 - Angel Pink (stamped off) (Memento), Step 2 - Angel Pink, Step 3 - Hibiscus (Papertrey Ink). Oh, and I used a bit of Chamomile around the edges of the heart after it was cut out.

The Kraft heart was cut out with Nestabilities and while it was still in the die I sponged it with Fresh Snow ink.  "Valentine" from Words of Love (KSS) was stamped with Hibiscus ink and embellished with a tiny rhinestone.

The card is 4.25" square and I used the smallest solid heart stamp from 3 Step Hearts stamped with Versamark randomly around the card base.  I love the soft, romantic feel of this card.  I wanted to add ribbon but it just seemed like overkill.

I did however, finish off the inside with another heart and a sentiment to complete the phrase.  Please be sure to visit the rest of the KSS Crew today!

Remember when you shop at Kitchen Sink Stamps to use coupon code JULIE10KSS to receive 10% your purchase!  Have a wonderful Monday my friends!!

Cardstock: Hibiscus, Kraft (Papertrey Ink), White (Gina K Designs), Stamps: 3 Step Hearts, Words of Love, Letters from the Past (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink: Angel Pink, Hibiscus, Fresh Snow, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink), Versamark (Tsuekineko), Accessories: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Scalloped circle punch, corner rounder punch (SU!), rhinestone (Taylored Expressions), Button, Twine (Papertrey Ink), foam adhesive

Eskimo Kisses

What a fun night I had last night with a bunch of girlfriends stamping Valentine's treats!  Now it's time for another Saturday Sketch from The Sweet Stop

For my card today I used one of the newly released stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Eskimo Kisses - aren't they cute?  They were so fun to color with my Copics! I paired them up with some Pink Paislee paper.  The little glittery hearts were cut out Nestabilities and then run through my Xryon and glitter-fied - love it!  You can't tell at all from the photo, but I added some Fun Flock to the white parts on their coats.

Hop over to The Sweet Stop blog to see the sketch .  and link up your creation after you visit the other Sugar Babies to see their creations!  Have a great weekend!

You still have time to win 2 sets from Paper Pretties - comment HERE by tomorrow night!

I will be posting at least 1 more prize soon so watch for that! :)  Now, something non-stamp related . . . .

For the last several years my husband and I have not been exchanging Christmas gifts - I know, sounds sad right?  But no really, we get gifts from our parents and we really don't need much so it's just better to not spend the extra.  Anyway, this year my sweet husband knew that I had been wanting something for a few months so he gave me the go ahead to order . . .  here is my new "mommy" necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.  It's really called the Heartstrings Necklace. Since our family is complete with the birth of Baby O it was safe now to get something with all of their names and I decided to have her add the "j"s to the 2 hearts representing my husband and me.  I just love it!!

One more pic - Baby O has found his thumb after struggling for the last several weeks.  He tried and tried but had a hard time separating it from his fist - lol!  He's getting so big already (he was 3 months on the 9th) and is just a joy!! He sleeps great at night and we're finally into a pretty nice routine during the day.  I just wish I could stop the world for a few more months - I already miss the tiny baby part! :)

Salt Challenge - Daily

Our Salt challenge this week is from Tanis on being a Daily Christian.  Please go to the Salt blog and read her write up.

I chose to use this verse from Psalm 139:16, "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before they came to be."  Just a reminder that God not only knows what will happen to us each day - what we eat, what we say, where we go, who we have contact with - but He ordained it all!  If we remember this, remember that God has planned all our days and truly cares what happens to us, maybe we will strive to live for Him daily - to be a Daily Christian.

For my ATC today I used some pretty new dp from My Mind's Eye Love Me Do collection.  The sun stamp is from Scattered Shower Additions from Papertrey Ink.  I printed the verse on vellum and overlaid it on my Nestabilities label.

We would love to have you play along with our challenge today!!  If you do, please link your project to the Salt blog so that we can see it! Have a wonderful day!  Oh and remember to comment on this post and this post for a chance to win some great prizes!!

Cardstock:  Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper:  Love Me Do Head in the Clouds and Forever in Plaid (My Mind's Eye), Stamps: Scattered Shower Additions (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink), Accessories:  Foam adhesive, Terracotta Tile Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), rhinestones, Nestabilities Label Eight (Spellbinders)

Prettie Pink Wednesday & More TREATS

It's a fun Wednesday today!  Our Prettie Wednesday challenge for you is from Kristy:

"Since my favorite color is PINK, I think we should do a card using Pink, White and one of your favorite colors. The card also must have ribbon and some sort of technique you have never tried before. Have fun!"

Remember if didn't come from there please start the hop today on Christie's blog.   I am not a big technique-y kind of girl but I found the directions for an easel card on SCS and thought I'd give that a try - not hard at all and it's a neat design!  Of course the pink part was no problem at all for me and I just added some red to go with the dp!  (I sure hope you are not getting sick of my lovey cards!! LOL!)

I used Unknown Blessings from Paper Pretties today - but with a twist.  I masked off the flowers and grass at the bottom.  By just drawing in a snow line and adding some Rock Candy Stickles I've changed it to more of a winter-ish Valentine card - cool!  Something else that's cool, this week Unknown Blessings and Simply Special are 20% off!  The sentiment on my card today is from Sending You Love.

How about more Blogaversary treats??  You still have time to get in on the KSS treat being offered, but now you have a chance to win 2 sets from Paper Pretties thanks to the wonderfully generous and sweet Christie!  Leave me a comment today telling me your favorite color combo and you could win, A Good Work (one of MY Precious Pretties stamps) and Bundle Up Cooper! You have until Saturday night to enter.

Don't forget we'd love for you to play along with our challenge this week and if you do, upload your card to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties for your chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties store.  Your next stop on the Prettie Wednesday Hop is Jana's Blog - thanks for visiting today!!

Cardstock: Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, White (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink, Stamps: Unknown Blessings, Sending You Love (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic markers, White ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Scallop punch, foam adhesive, Spica pen, Stickles (Ranger)

Thanks x2

It's been great to read your comments on yesterday's post - thank you so much! I have had the best time these last 3 years blogging I am so thankful for your visits!! Remember you have until Thursday night to comment here for your chance to win the Kitchen Sink Stamps Multi-Step Cup of Warm Comfort set. Here's a little tag I whipped up with the set - it'd be cute to just tie on a new coffee mug with a Dunkin Donuts' gift card wouldn't it?

I had a chance to play along with Monday Mania on the Club Anya blog yesterday.  It was a color challenge, pink, olive green, dark brown and sparkle.  Here's my card using Stella - love her!  I used some pretty Amy Butler dp with her and to paper piece her dress. Of course, I also added some glitter to her dress!  The sentiment is from their new Talk Loud set which is great to use with all your cute stamps!

Thanks again for visiting!!

Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), White (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper:  Amy Butler, Stamps: Stella, Talk Loud (The Greeting Farm), Ink: Black (Memento), Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink), Accessories: Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Glitter (Martha Stewart), Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), foam adhesive, paper piercer, flower (Stamping Bella)

Cardinals & Blogaversary Treats!

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend - we sure did!  Stick with me to the end for details of my Blogaversary Candy!!  You know I really love Mondays - I just love getting to share some Kitchen Sink Stamps with you and see what the other KSS Crew members have made.  I'm pretty sure we're all still having fun with our newly released stamp and remember that you can use coupon code JULIE10KSS anytime to get 10% off your orders!

The set I'm showing you today is called Multi-Step Winter Cardinal and it's so beautiful!  It reminds me that we have a few bird feeders in our backyard that I really need to dust off and fill up with bird seed. We've been blessed enough to see a pair of cardinals a few times over the years and it's truly one of those things that just makes you stop and watch.  They are gorgeous birds and this set captures them beautifully!

As you can see, I am still unable to put down the wonderful Plaid Plus set!  I just love the monochromatic plaid I was able to make for this card.  Actually, the inspiration for my card was a new set of flannel sheets I recently purchased at Kohl's (it was such a great sale - a king set marked down to $30 and I had a 30% off coupon!! SWEET!). I'll try and get a picture of them added soon (since I'm preposting it's too dark to photograph them now). ETA:  Here are my inspirational sheets! :)

My cardinal was stamped as follows:  Step 3 - Rhubarb Stalk, Step 2 - Ladybug Red, Step 1 - Ladybug Red (stamped off), Step 4- Tuxedo Black (All Memento).  Pine branch: Step 4 - Olympia Green (VersaFine), Step 3 - Dark Chocolate. Step 2 - Bamboo Leaves (Memento), Step 1 - Landscape (Palette).

Now for some FUN!  This week (tomorrow to be exact) is my 3 year "blogaversary"!  I can't believe it's been that long really!  I cannot thank you all enough for visitng and reading each day, for commenting and encouraging me and for becoming my friends!!  So to celebrate I will be having several give-aways this week, just a small way of saying thanks!  Today's prize has been generously donated by Maria of Kitchen Sink Stamps.  I am so blessed to "work for" her and represent KSS - she is an amazingly talented, kind and generous woman!

So in order to win today's prize, Multi-Step Cup of Warm Comfort (you can see my card from last week with the set here), please leave me a comment  - just any comment.  I'm hoping this will draw out some "lurkers" - I'd love to meet you!! :)  You have until Thursday night (1/21) to enter and feel free to spread the word!

Please remember to visit the rest of the KSS Crew today for more Kitchen Sink Stamps goodness! Have a great day!

Cardstock: Creamy Caramel (SU!), Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Multi-Step Winter Cardinal, Plaid Plus, Simple Sentiments, Ink:Rhubarb Stalk, Ladybug Red, Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black (Memento), Olympia Green (Versafine), Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink),  Accessories: Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Nestabilities, Fun Flock (Stampendous), foam adhesive, rhinestones (Taylored Expressions).

Bundle Up!

Last night was the Paper Pretties release party! As always there are wonderful new stamps including this adorable new Cooper, Bundle Up.  My Wednesday post just revealed a tiny peek at this stamp so today I'm showing you the rest of my card.  He's just so cute isn't he?? I'm not sure if you can tell but I sponged around the edge of the main image while it was still in the Nestabilities die. I also added a bit of Stickles to the snowflakes and some Fun Flock to Cooper's hat.

You really should have a look at the rest of the cards the Pretties Girls (links are on my right sidebar) are sharing today - they are fabulous!!

Cardstock:  Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), White (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: Creative Imaginations, Stamps:  Bundle Up (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic markers, Dark Chocolate ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Picket Fence Distress Stickles (Ranger), sewing machine, foam adhesive, Fun Flock (Stampendous), snowflake charm, snowflake punch

Sweet Stop Sketch #39

Good morning! Today is another 2 post day - I will be posting the full card from my Prettie Wednesday post at noon today so thank you for checking that out!

Here is my card for The Sweet Stop Sketch #39. It's a sketch with a spin - you are to use only a sentiment on your card.  I made (wait for it . . .) a Valentine card (I know, shocking!! LOL)!  :)  The sentiment is part of a beautiful digi set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Valentine Sentiments (it's on sale too!).  I made my card 5.5" x 3.5", a fun size!

I printed my sentiment and die cut it with Nestabilities.  Then, very carefully, I took a Copic marker (R29 I believe) and went all around the edge.  The heart is a sweet little chipboard heart from Maya Road that I picked up at eclectic Paperie last week.  I ran it through my little Xryon and added some Martha Stewart glitter.

We'd love to see what you make with this fun sketch!  Link up your creation on The Sweet Stop blog after you visit the other Sugar Babies to their creations!

Snow Day

Hello my friends!! My sweet friend Joanne B is hosting a Beloved Challenge on her blog and I thought I'd give it a whirl!  If you haven't seen it already, pop over and watch her fabulous video tutorial on watercoloring!  I think I need to watch again - my watercoloring needs some help! LOL!

Anyway, it gave me another change to ink up my little Pure Innocence sweetie - and I know you all are loving them too because this one is currently sold out!!  I also pulled out my sewing machine and added a bit of stitching - which was part of the challenge.  It's difficult to see but the blue cardstock behind the main image is embossed with the Snowflake Impressionabilities die - I think I don't have my "sandwich" quite right.

Why not pull out your supplies and give the challenge a go?!  Joanne is picking one random player who will win 3 My Favorite Things stamps AND some gorgeous Beloved dp from My Mind's Eye - YUM! :)

See you tomorrow morning! Hugs!

Cardstock  Brown (Bazzill) Watercolor (SU!), Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye, Stamps: My Favorite Things, Ink:  Stazon, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Accessories:  Pearls, Snowflake, Ribbon (May Arts), Glitter (Martha Stewart), Snowflake Impressionabilities (Spellbinders), Nestabilities, sewing

My Hero

Over New Year's I had a chance to use some new stamps from The Greeting Farm that I picked up for my children and nieces as gifts for Christmas (no really, they were for the children!! LOL!).  They had a whole day of challenges over on the Club Anya blog on New Year's Day.  I was able to complete 2 of them - this one was called Black Tie Affair and you were to use the colors black and white with one other color.

I used Rescue Ian for my card which was black, white & red.  Most of this is pretty straight-forward although it's difficult to see that the black card is embossed with the Swiss Dot folder and that the badge on his helmet is cut out and popped up with foam adhesive.  I also colored the edge of the badge, the stripe on his coat and his boots using a Black Glaze pen.  The sentiment is from Crafty Emergency from Paper Pretties.

I'll have another Prettie Peek for you tomorrow! Thanks for visiting!! :)

Cardstock:  Pure Poppy, Black, White (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Rescue Ian (The Greeting Farm), sentiment from Crafty Emergency (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Brads, Pure Poppy Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Copic markers, foam adhesive, Black Glaze pen, gold pen, ticket corner punch, Swiss Dot embossing folder

KSS Release Take 2!

This is 1 of 3 posts today, please scroll down for the Paper Pretties Sneak Peek and a KSS Release post.

Welcome back!!  I couldn't help but pop in this afternoon to post another NEW Kitchen Sink Stamps release sample.  The 4 brand new sets today are:

Multi-Step Cup of Warm Comfort
Friends of the Moon
Simple Sentiments
Multi-Step Winter Cardinal

and Maria is bringing a set out of retirement!  I know many many of you have asked for the 3 Step Daisy to return and you've got your wish - it's back! Yea!!

I think with all the Valentine's cards I've been making I'm stuck on red - lol!  I've made a lot of red card lately!  But I think these pretty red daisies make a nice winter birthday card.  The sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #55 - it's worked perfectly for my card!  I stamped the Daisies with:  Step 3 - Rhubarb Stalk (2x), Step 2 - Ladybug Red (2x), Step 1 - Ladybug Red.  The leaves with: Step 1 - Spring Moss (PTI), Step 2 - Bamboo Leaves.  The sentiment is from the new Simple Sentiments set - love the mix of fonts!!

And one more . . .just because I had so much fun with this one!  I used Friends of the Moon - which is a fun new companion set for Owl & Autumn Moon.  It has lots of great images to use with the moon!  This card was pretty quick and easy.  I stamped the moon on Enchanted Evening cardstock using: Step 3 - London Fog, Step 2 - Platinum Planet, Step 1 - Fresh Snow.  I then stamped the sleigh using Enchanted Evening ink and then overstamped with Versamark so that I could emboss it with Clear Embossing powder.  I added a few stars (also included in the set) which were then embellished with some rhinestones.  The sentiment is from Ready 4 Any Holiday which is a must for having just the right sentiment!

Remember to click here to visit the NEW Kitchen Sink Stamps website and use code JULIE15KSS to get 15% off your order today only!  (After today, you can use JULIE10KSS any time to get 10% off.)  And if you haven't already, please visit the KSS Crew for more beautiful cards made with today's release!
