Prettie Inspired Wednesday (PWC94)

It's time for our Prettie Wednesday challenge, today from Christie (and you should begin hopping today on her blog).  The challenge today is an inspiration challenge using this photo.  If you'd like to play along with the challenge you can upload your card to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties.

This week the Prettie Girls will be using either Hippity Hoppity or Bunny Slippers and both sets will be 20% off all week.  I used Bunny Slippers to make a get well card.  While these colors are sooooo not my normal palette I actually don't hate this card - lol!   I translated the inspirational photo pretty literally using the colors and the layout as well as some of the graphics such as the circles on the bottom.  It was fun using all the different design elements from the photo!

Your next stop on the hop is my friend Jana!!  Hope you're having a great week!

Cardstock: So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue (SU!), Terra Cotta Tile (Papertrey Ink), White (Gina K Designs), Stamps: Bunny Slippers (Paper Pretties), Background Basics: Diamonds (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Close to Cocoa (SU!), Black (Memento), Accessories: Terra Cotta Tile ribbon, Vintage Button, Twine (Papertrey Ink), Copic makers, Nestabilities, Brown pearls (Zva Creative)

Prettie Wednesday Challenge #93 Getting Sketchy

Happy Prettie Wednesday!  Our challenge today is another wonderful sketch from our resident expert, Frances!!  Don't you love a good sketch?! It makes life easy I tell you . . . I really need to be putting these all in my sketch book - yes I have one which is screaming to be used!! Ok, that's going on my "to do" list!! :)  Be sure to start today's hop on Christie's blog!

So for my card today I'm using the newest Cooper image from Paper Pretties.  This is I'm Sorry Cooper and it's a digi image - how cool!!  Instant gratification - no shipping costs - the ability to size the image, just some of the advantages to digi images! Now, MAJOR OOPS!  I should have used one of this week's featured sets - Cuddle Me or Always In My Heart - which are 20% off all this week.  I, however, had a looong moment and totally forgot - lol!  So . . . enjoy seeing the rest of the Prettie Girls' work with those sets! :)

As you can see my Cooper image was colored with Copics and I used some fun Making Memories dp with the matching epoxy buttons. I also added some Fun Flock to his bunny for that snuggly look.   Look at that sweet face! What do you think caused the sheepish look? Could be a great "I'm sorry" card, or a get well card.  I chose to use this sentiment for a "missing you" card - he's sad without his buddy!

We'd love for you to play along with our challenge and if you do please upload your card to the Paper Pretties Gallery! Next stop, Jana's blog - have a great day!

Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), White (Neenah), Patterned Paper: Making Memories, Stamps: I'm Sorry - digi (Paper Pretties), sentiment from Everyday Button Bits (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Accessories:  Expoxy shapes (Making Memories), Nestabilities, Copic markers, Fun Flock (Stampendous), Twine (Papertrey Ink)

Prettie Embossed Wednesday

Welcome to Prettie Wednesday!! Today our challenge comes from Heather - we are to emboss, either heat or dry embossing, or if you are like me . . . do both!!  This week's specials (which means they are 20% off) are Apple of My Eye and Apple of My Eye Scripture.  Hopefully you are coming here from Christie's blog so that you don't miss a thing!

For my card I used the scripture verse which was stamped in black ink.  I then stamped a solid image apple stamp in Versamark ink over the word apple and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Once that cooled, I sponged on some red ink around the edges to make the embossed apple more pronounced - I think it looks kinda neat!

The cardbase was also dry embossed using a Quickutz Polka Dot embossing folder (I'm sort of on a polka dot kick lately, have you noticed?).

We go back to the Prettie Peeks tomorrow - all leading up to the big release on March 1st so be sure to check in with the Prettie Girls all week!  Now, it's time to hop over to Jana's blog for her embossed goodies!! Have a great day!

Cardstock: Pure Poppy, True Black, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper:  Report Card (October Afternoon), Stamps: Apple of My Eye Scripture (Paper Pretties), solid apple from 3 Step School Days (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink:  Black, Versamark, Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder (SU!), Pure Poppy ribbon, Vintage Button, Black Felt, Scalloped die (Papertrey Ink), Rhintestones (Kaiser), Nestabilities, Polka Dot embossing folder (Quickutz), Baker's Twine (Say It With Letters)

Prettie CASE'd Wednesday

Happy Prettie Wednesday! Today your challenge comes from Jane.  She wants you to visit the Paper Pretties' Gallery and case (essentially copy) one of your favorite cards.  You should link to the card you've case'd and change 2 things about it in your card.  Also, the Featured Sets this week are Crafty Emergency and Game On - these sets will be 20% off all week!  Hopefully you've come here from Christie's blog which is where the hop begins.

I chose this fun card by Jane - she used Dreamboat from Paper Pretties.  I chose to use Crafty Emergency and made my card with a totally different color scheme.  I also didn't use all the buttons.  Instead I used many of the images from the Crafty Emergency set and a few squares of patterned paper.  I did keep the basic layout (my squares are each 1 1/4" and the card is 4 1/2"). a even cut out my ambulance and used foam adhesive to pop it up a bit.

Your next stop is wJana's blog. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Cardstock:  Soft Stone, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink), White (Neenah), Patterned Paper:  Pink Paislee, Stamps: Crafty Emergency (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  1 1/4" punch (SU!), Copic markers, Red ribbon, Twine, Vintage Button (Papertrey Ink), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), foam adhesive

Prettie Button-y Wednesday Birthday Hop

Phew - say that 5 times fast! :)  Not only do we have our usual Prettie Wednesday Hop but today it's a Prettie Birthday Hop for the fabulous Wendy!!  Woot!  Anyone who knows Wendy has to love her - she has an energy and a great sense of humor that is contagious!  I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy in 2008 on the Stamping Cruise.

So hopefully you hopped here from Christie's blog - that's the starting point.  Today the Prettie Girls will be using Made With Love and Dream  Boat from Paper Pretties.  These 2 stamps will be on sale for 20% off for this entire week.  Ok, our challenge today (from Jackie) was to use buttons as an embellishment! You can use other things, but you must have buttons somewhere on your card.  I came up with a pretty clean & simple (CAS) card with some fun October Afternoon paper and the Made With Love image. The card measures 5" x 3.5"

Your next stop on the hop is Jana's blog!  Be sure to finish up the hop and give Wendy some birthday love! :)

Cardstock:  Soft Sky, Apricot Appeal (SU!), Ivory (Gina K Designs), Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Stamps: Made With Love (Paper Pretties), sentiment from Vintage Picnic (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic markers, Buttons (Papertrey Ink)

Prettie Pink Wednesday & More TREATS

It's a fun Wednesday today!  Our Prettie Wednesday challenge for you is from Kristy:

"Since my favorite color is PINK, I think we should do a card using Pink, White and one of your favorite colors. The card also must have ribbon and some sort of technique you have never tried before. Have fun!"

Remember if didn't come from there please start the hop today on Christie's blog.   I am not a big technique-y kind of girl but I found the directions for an easel card on SCS and thought I'd give that a try - not hard at all and it's a neat design!  Of course the pink part was no problem at all for me and I just added some red to go with the dp!  (I sure hope you are not getting sick of my lovey cards!! LOL!)

I used Unknown Blessings from Paper Pretties today - but with a twist.  I masked off the flowers and grass at the bottom.  By just drawing in a snow line and adding some Rock Candy Stickles I've changed it to more of a winter-ish Valentine card - cool!  Something else that's cool, this week Unknown Blessings and Simply Special are 20% off!  The sentiment on my card today is from Sending You Love.

How about more Blogaversary treats??  You still have time to get in on the KSS treat being offered, but now you have a chance to win 2 sets from Paper Pretties thanks to the wonderfully generous and sweet Christie!  Leave me a comment today telling me your favorite color combo and you could win, A Good Work (one of MY Precious Pretties stamps) and Bundle Up Cooper! You have until Saturday night to enter.

Don't forget we'd love for you to play along with our challenge this week and if you do, upload your card to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties for your chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties store.  Your next stop on the Prettie Wednesday Hop is Jana's Blog - thanks for visiting today!!

Cardstock: Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, White (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink, Stamps: Unknown Blessings, Sending You Love (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic markers, White ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Scallop punch, foam adhesive, Spica pen, Stickles (Ranger)

Prettie Sketchy Wednesday #85!

Welcome to Prettie Wednesday!  Today's challenger is Frances and she has a super sketch for you - don't you love sketches?  I do - it makes my card go much faster!  So here is the PWC85 sketch challenge - I love that it's not A2!  Now you can really make it any size you want, but I  made mine 4"x7".  You have until next Tuesday night to make your card using Paper Pretties stamps and upload it to the Weekly Challenge Gallery (use keyword PWC85) at Paper Pretties.  One person will win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.  So let's start with some inspiration from the Prettie Girls!!

As you can see I turned the sketch on it's side since I was using this adorable Snowy Snuggles stamp.  I think they make an adorable Valentine's Day couple don't they?  And the sentiment, "There's snow-one like you" is just perfect too!  I used some pretty October Afternoon dp from their holiday line and mixed in a bit of pink and hearts. (I found the pattern for the crocheted hearts here.)

Did you notice that there were no new stamped released on the 1st?? Well, never fear!  Paper Pretties is about to celebrate it's 3rd anniversary so we decided to have a combined release/anniversary party!  The festivities begin next week so be watching for more details and sneak peeks - it's going to be FUN!! :)

I hope you give the sketch a try - it's a fun one!!  Your next stop on the hop is Jana's blog!! Have a Prettie day!!

Cardstock: Pure Poppy, Sweet Blush, White (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Stamps: Snowy Snuggles (Paper Pretties), Ink: Black (Memento), Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink), Accessories: Nestabilities, Copic markers, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!), Buttons (Papertrey Ink), Clear Glaze pen, heart brads

Prettie Noted Wednesday

It's Prettie Wednesday!  This week it's my turn to challenge you and it's your chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.  Just add a picture of your creation for this week's challenge to the Weekly Challenge Gallery by next Tuesday for your chance to win.  Ok, here's the challenge:  since we are coming up on a brand new year, I thought it'd be fun to make (or alter) a notebook in which to record special blessings, events, etc.  You could even make a special photo album or a journal, whatever would be most useful to you!

To give you some inspiration, the Prettie Girls have some beautiful projects to share and as always please start at Christie's blog so you don't miss even one!  I plan on using mine to record blessings and things that I am especially thankful for throughout the year so my Praise & Thanksgiving stamp from Paper Pretties is perfect!

My little notebook measure approximately 6"x2.5" and I used my Bind-it-All to put it together. I also used the flower stamp from Sassy Shoes and the circle stamp from Sassy Circles.  Hopefully you can see that on the Aqua Mist panel I stamped the circle stamp using Aqua Mist ink.  Then I stamped the flower stamp inside the circle using Fresh Snow ink. On the sentiment panel I also stamped the flower using Summer Sunrise. I even pulled out the shrink plastic and made a teeny tiny pink flower to add to my sentiment (it's really shiney IRL).

On the inside of the notebook I added some more flowers to the bottom of each page - just to make 'em prettie! :)  Oh and I forgot to say that I used the recipe cards from Papertrey Ink for the notebook. I simple cut off the edge that has "Recipe" on it (it's only about 1/4" that you need to trim away).  So now it's your turn to get creative! I can't wait to see what you make!!

Now it's time to hop over to Jana's blog for further inspiration.  I hope you have a great day!

Cardstock: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, White (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink, Stamps: Praise & Thanksgiving, Sassy Shoes, Sassy Circles (Paper Pretties), numbers from Simple Alphabet (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Fresh Snow, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Accessories: Foam adhesive, Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Scalloped edge punch (SU!), Shrink Plastic, Copic marker, Summer Sunrise ribbon (Papertrey Ink)

Prettie Lovey Wednesday (PWC83)

Good morning my friends! Today's Prettie Wednesday challenge is brought to us by lovely Jana!  She's challenged us all to think ahead to Valentine's Day and make a special card . . . without using any red or pink!!  I decided to use one of the newest Cooper stamps, Beary Best Friend from Paper Pretties to make a card for a special little boy.  I used a layout that I used a few months ago here, thinking it would work well here.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye - love the colors!  The sentiment was stamped on vellum which was then cut and matted using Nestabilities.

Now it's your turn!  Show us your non-red/pink Valentine's card by uploading it in the Weekly Challenge gallery by next Tuesday night.  You could win a $15 coupon to the Paper Prettie Boutique!!

Hop on over to Jana's blog now and see her Prettie creation!  Thanks so much for visiting - have a great day!

Cardstock: Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink), White (Gina K Designs) Patterned Paper:  Stomp collection (My Mind's Eye), Stamps: Beary Best Friend (Paper Pretties), Ink: Black (Memento), Accessories:  Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Rhinestones (Kaiser), foam adhesive, Ribbon (May Arts), Button (Papertrey Ink)

I pulled out this adorable drummer boy stamp, Pa Rum Pa Pa Pump for my card today.  Oh, and can we just pretend that we don't notice the crooked sentiment please!!  Sheesh - I think I am stamp-a-ma-jig challenged (I read that one someone's blog once and thought it was so funny . . . don't remember where) - I lined it all up, stamped it - crooked - arrrrggggghhhh!! Course it was the absolute last thing I did so there was no switching out the dp without totally starting over!

So are you ready for the news?  Paper Pretties has a brand new website - go ahead, check it out!  We're so excited about the new look and lots of new features that should make navigation and shopping much easier!  To celebrate the new site, Paper Pretties is having a sale - 35% off everything!!  Use coupon code newsite to take advantage of this awesome deal from now until Saturday night.  Can't wait to hear what you think of the redesign!

It's been forever since I scrapbooked - *hanging head low! *  I feel so guilty about this but there's just no time these days.

Anyway, it was fun to pull out the stamps and see what I could come up with.  Since it's Christmas-time and we just bought our tree last weekend I thought Trim the Tree Sophia might be perfect!  Now, when we get our tree up and decorated I'll just snap a picture and viola! Done! :)

So, how about you? When was the last time you scrapped?  Go ahead, give it a try!! Be sure to upload your cards to the Weekly Challenge album in the gallery for your chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate for the Pretties boutique!

Prettie Birthday Sketch Wednesday (PWC76)

Happy Prettie Wednesday - with a bonus!! We're also celebrating brand-new Prettie Girl Heather's birthday . . . just a bit late - oops!  Our challenge today is a great sketch from Danielle who sadly is leaving us and will be greatly missed! Hopefully you started the hop at Christie's blog. At the end you'll be able to leave Heather some belated birthday love.

So here is our sketch for today.  Remember you have a chance to play along and win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.  All you have to do is create a card with this sketch and upload it to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties using keyword PWC76 by next Tuesday.  The winner will be posted on The Paper Clip next Wednesday - have fun with it!!

Since we are celebrating the birthday today I used the newest stamp of the month Sophia - Bubble Time.  Oooohhh I wish I were in a nice warm bubble bath right now . . .and looking as cute as our little Sophia is too!! LOL!  I used some pretty My Mind's Eye Abbey Road papers and lots of girly colors with even a bit of glitter.  It's all about the bling after all right?!

Your next stop of the hop today is Jana - so go see what prettie-ness she has come up with today.  And Heather, sorry we're late but Happy Birthday girl!!

Prettie CAS Wednesday (PWC75)

Welcome to Prettie Wednesday!  It's my turn to issue the challenge so I turned to my favorite style lately - Clean And Simple (CAS for short).  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have less time to stamp these days - lol!!  Hopefully you began on Christie's blog today.  Then you can hop to each Prettie Girl's blog and be inspired to create your own Prettie CAS card using one of the sketches that we have used. Remember to upload your card to the Weekly Challenge Gallery using keyword PWC75 by next Tuesday for your chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.

Since we are also in sneak peek week I thought I'd share another of the new sets with you.  This is Love Is and it's part of the Precious Pretties line - my line in fact! :)   I love how making a CAS card makes the verse really take center stage!  The sketch is FTL#20 from Clean & Simply Stamping.

Next stop . . . Danielle!!  I can't wait to see what she's made today!! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Cardstock:  White (Gina K Designs), Black (SU!), Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper:  Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Love Is (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Accessories: Corner rounder punch, ribbon (SU!), foam adhesive, Cuttlebug embossing folder, rhinestones

Prettie Treats Wednesday (PWC74)

It's Prettie Wednesday! Time for another Challenge and a chance for you to WIN a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.  Today's challenge is from Frances and it's to create something for a Halloween Treat - a box, bag, lollipop holder . . . whatever! Did you start today's hop on Christie's blog? Go there now if not, I'll wait! :)

I wanted to find something a bit different but something quick.  As I was flipping through the October 2009 issue of Cards magazine I came to an adorable treat holder made by Lea Lawson - it's pure genius!! (see Lea's version here). So I did what we all must do when we find something amazing - I case'd it!! :)

For my version of the treat holder I used a box that some fun Doodlebug buttons came in (looks like the same one that Lea used even!).  The stamps I used were Pick of the Patch from Paper Pretties.  I simply cut down a piece of patterned paper to the size of the package and added a band around the top with a cute little hang tag.  I stamped the sentiment on the outslide of the package using Stazon and filled it with Skittles - done!

So now it's your turn, let's see what treat containers you have up your sleeves! Remember to upload them to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties by next Tuesday night for your chance to win!  Have fun!!  Ok, next up on your hop - Danielle!!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Orange Zest, White (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper:  I forget . .  Stamps: Pick of the Patch (Paper Pretties), Ink: Memento, Stazon, Accessories:  product packaging, ribbon, Nestabilities, Copics, Twine (Papertrey Ink), Black Glaze pen

Prettie Colorful Wednesday

Welcome to another Prettie Wednesday - another chance for you to win!  Our challenge today is from Christi and it's a color challenge:  Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy and Barely Banana.  Make your card using Paper Pretties stamps and that color combo - upload it to the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery by next Tuesday night for a chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique!

For a bit of inspiration the Prettie Girls have all made cards for the challenge.  You should have started at Christie's blog today and not it's my turn!  I used one of Paper Pretties newest sets, Frosty for my card today with a square layout.  I think this little snowman guy is just about the cutest, isn't he?!  I also used this as an opportunity to use my new Spellbinder's Impressabilities  Snowflake die.  I need to do a bit more research and figure out exactly what "sandwich" I need to use for my Cuttlebug, but I did a Letterpress technique with it (basically, I inked the die with Fresh Snow ink and then put my paper on top and ran it through the Cuttlebug.  It left the paper beautifully embossed with white snowflakes - love it!!

ETA:  There's a DT call going on at Paper Pretties!  If you love Paper Pretties (and who doesn't?) and would like to be a Prettie Girl, see this post for all the details!  Your next stop on the Prettie Wednesday hop is Danielle!  Have a Prettie Day!! :)

Cardstock: Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy, Barely Banana (SU!), White (Gina K Designs), Stamps:  Frosty (Paper Pretties), Ink: Black (Memento), Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink), Accessories:  Swarovski Crystals, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Snowflake Impressabilities

Prettie Sketchie Wednesday - PWC72

Our Paper Pretties challenge today is another one of Danielle's amazing sketches! Don't you love a great sketch - I always feel like more than half the work is done for me!!  Here's the sketch.  If you want to play along with the Prettie Girls you have until Tuesday, Oct.13 to upload your photo in the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery. One person will win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique - plus we just love seeing your creations!! :)

Remember, since Prettie Wednesdays are now a hop, you should have started on Christie's blog!

Ok, so for my card I used one of the super sweet new images from Paper Pretties new illustrator, Jennifer Lambien, Happy Birth Day Lamb!  I just love the sweetness of this image - perfect for birthdays and birth days - lol!  I used it to make a cute welcome baby boy card (no, that's not a hint - we have no idea what "flavor" baby is! hee hee!)

I love blue and yellow together and had fun using different shades and textures.  The patterned paper is some I've had for years! I also had a chance to pull out my clear glaze pen and make the dots on the balloon a bit shiney!

Your next stop is Danielle's - be ready for something beautiful!! And once you finish the hop around Prettie-town get out those Paper Pretties' stamps and play along with our sketch challenge - I can't wait to see!!
