Smooches!

Good morning! It's a beautiful, sunny day here! After yesterday's blizzard it's a nice change!

I have another project from The Crush (mini VSN) on SCS a couple of weeks ago to share. This was for Sarah's (SeattleStamper) Candy Topped Love challenge - to make a topper for a candy treat bag.

I found these adorable chocolate lips at the $$ Store and just knew they would come in handy! I love them paired with these stamps from Taylored Expressions, Love is Sweet! These little toppers are so quick and easy to make up - almost no time at all!! I added a bit of Crystal Effects to the cherry on the cupcake and also onthe heart chocolates.

Thanks for stopping by today - blog candy coming next week, stay tuned!! :)

Cardstock: Real Red, WW (SU!)
Stamps: Love is Sweet (Stamp a Sweet Impression)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Ladybug Red
Accessories: Heart Brad (Taylored Expressions), Copic markers, Crystal Effects, Red Gingham ribbon (SU!), Nestabilities, Clear bag

Prettie Specific Wednesday

We're so excited to have Jana back with us on Prettie Wednesday - even if she is stamping one-handed (while the other holds her beautiful baby boy!)!! :) Two weeks ago she issued the challenge and it was along the lines of a limited supply challenge but very specific:

Create a card or scrapbook page using the following items:
1 dry embossed piece (embossing folders and texture plates count!)
2 pieces of patterened paper
3 colors of solid cardstock (this includes any neutrals you use)
4 embellishments
5 layers

The dry embossed piece must be one of your patterned papers or your 3 colors. And, at no point should there by more than 4 layers under a top piece of cardstock. However, if you have your base card with a second layer on that...you may have multiple small pieces each with 2 layers under them. You may use as many tools as you like.

So after I read the directions about two dozen times - lol - here's what I came up with. I used Sending You Love from Paper Pretties of course. I just think she is the perfect Valentine set!

I used some pretty Making Memories paper and metal tag that I got from Emma's Paperie. My 4 embellisments are ribbon, brad, glitter and the metal tag. Even though I did emboss the hearts after I cut them out with the Nestabilities, I added a embossed frame around the heart using my Scor-Pal. The heart is popped up with Dimensionals.

I can't wait to see the other Prettie Girls' cards - be sure to check them out!! Why not give the challenge a try - it sure was fun to put it all together!! :) Have a great day!

Cardstock: Sweet Blush, Kraft (Papertrey Ink), White (GP), Patterned Paper: Making Memories, Stamps: Sending My Love (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: heart brad, Nestabilities, Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Metal Tag (Making Memories), Scor-pal, Corner rounder punch, Dazzling Diamond Glitter, Copic Markers

The Reveal!

We had such a great time Sunday night at the Paper Pretties Anniversary Party! It was so fast and furious - seriously it was so hard to keep up!! It was fun to see all our friends and even a bunch of new ones!
Did you see the next Stamp of the Month Club Sophia yet? Remember I posted a peek of her last week . . . well here is the full project. This was very quick and easy - I bought these pops at the $ Store. They originally had little cello wrappers but when I found out my clue was tulle, I just took that off and wrapped it with a bit of tulle. The image was cut out with Nesties - I had to cut of the dp since it was double-sided and just didn't look right. I just cut 2 little slits in the scalloped oval and poked the lollipop stick through it and then taped down the Sophia image on top. Simple!! I layered the little sentiment on the back to cover the holes.

Isn't that sentiment great?! I love the little heart so I colored it in and added some Crystal Effects. I also added some CE to
the ribbons on Sophia's shoes - hoping they look like shiny satin
ribbons! :) So, go ahead and sign up for the SOTM club so you can get this cutie stamp before her public release!

Cardstock: White (GP), Patterned Paper: K&Co., Stamps: Ballerina Sophia (Paper Pretties), Accessories: Crystal Effects, Copic Markers, Nestabilities,

Ok, so should I share another?? MMmmmm, ok, how about another card with the new set Flirty Fortunes? I am having lots of fun playing with this set and seeing all the yummy creations the rest of the Prettie Girls have made!! And since yesterday was Chinese New Year - perfect!
I seem to be in a plain & understated phase lately . . . not a lot of fluff going on with these cards but I love how this one came out! I made it for the SCS challenge last week to use black as your card base. I embossed a background stamp for a shiny, textured cardbase and then layered my take-out box on white & red. The box is pieced using some Kraft dp and I layered the heart stamp colored with Copics. How cute is the little tag?? They are from Making Memories and I got them at Emma's Paperie. It seemed perfect or this card - who wouldn't love to get this?!
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, WW (SU!), Stamps: Flirty Fortunes (Paper Pretties), Open Circles Backgrounder (Cornish Heritage Farms), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Nestabilities, Tag (Making Memories), Brads

Thanks so much for coming to visit today! I truly appreciate it!!

KSS Showcase

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! It was sooooooo cold here but we managed to stay warm! Today we have a Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew Challenge from the fabulous Lori!! Her challenge is to Showcase a KSS non-floral image! I just LOVE all of the images so this was a super easy challenge!! If you'd like to see a tutorial on how to use the multi-step KSS images, you can check out Maria's tutorial from last week's Paper Craft Planet newsletter here.

I was able to combine a few things for this one too. Remember last weekend was The Crush - mini VSN on SCS. I made this cute little project for the Hope Chest Challenge. I used one of Lauren's My Timeless Templates, Music Makeover to make a cute little CD box. I think it would be so cute to make a cd of songs that are special to you and your special someone and package it in this fun box as a Valentine's gift!

I used a couple of great KSS sets, Mix It Up Monograms & Alphabet and one of the newest sets, 3 Step Hearts. I just love the great shape of the hearts in this new set - it's so fresh and fun!!

Be sure to see what the other Crew members have for you today!!

Owl for Baby

ETA: It's Day 2 of the Paper Pretties 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop!! See details here and get your clues today starting on Jessie's blog!

Good morning! This is a long overdue post! I've had this cute little guy done for quite some time but since he was a surprise gift for fellow Prettie Girl Jana and her new baby I had to wait until the package arrived before I could post it. :) If you want to see the whole box of goodies we put together for her, go here.

This cute little Owl shape is from Say It With Letters. I'm super excited to use this shape since I designed it! What a neat thing to see your work come to life!! Check out this post of Deb's to see what some of the other Design Team members made with their owl shape. If you decide to give the owl a try (or already have) I'd love to see it so please send me a link!!

I decided to make this a little name frame for baby Jackson, something that could stay in his room for many years. (The pic makes it look a bit washed out and doesn't show the color very well, sorry about that!) Once I covered the shape, the rest of it was made using various punches & Nestabilities. After the paper was all on, I decided it needed some texture - the feathers? they came from my chickens - lol! Don't worry, I washed them very carefully and picked only the softest prettiest ones.

Are you in an altering mood? Deb has filled the Store with lots of super cute shapes and kits perfect for Valentine's day or any love-filled occasion! One of my favorites is this super cute Swirl Heart - cute!!

Have a great Friday! I'm looking forward to having dinner with my friend Kim tonight - yippy, a night out! :)

The grand prize is a 6 month subscription to the Stamp of the Month Club. Prettie Pastel Wednesday

I had to seriously resist the urge to say "NOT!" LOL! Today's challenge came from my lovely friend and cruising cabinmate, Charmaine! We were to use pastels - you know those chalky things? Well, first of all when I moved my stamping room from downstairs in the laundry room to upstairs the pastels were like the 1 thing I didn't bring up - why? I never use them! I just never got very good with them. So I am awfully excited to see the fabulous creations that I know the Prettie Girls came up with today - hoping they can give me some tips!! ;) Be sure to visit their blogs!! Charmaine Ikach, Jana Weaver, Jillian Winters, Danielle Lounds, Jodi Collins, Jackie Rakoski, Jackie Pedro, Jessica Diedrich, Christi Thorsen, Frances Byrne.

Ok, I decided to use Bunny Hop Sophia which is the Stamp of the Month Club stamp for February, which means if you are a member or sign up before January 31st you will receive this stamp in February roughly a month before she is released to the general public. Sorry for the poor lighting in the photo, the colors seem to be a bit off.

I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for this week - it's been soooooooo long since I've done a Mojo sketch - they are always fab and they have their own blog now!! :)

Signing off . . . busy day ahead! But don't forget to visit the other girls and remember, tomorrow starts the big 2nd Anniversary Celebration at Paper Pretties!

Cardstock: Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, White , Linen Vellum (Papertrey Ink)

Patterned Paper: Pinks (Papertrey Ink)

Inspired by Chocolate

Another VSN card for you today (and I have a feeling you'll be seeing these for a few days - lol!). This card was made for Sara's (sarahenton) Chocolate Box of Love Challenge - to make a card inspired by a pretty, old chocolate box she has pictured. The box is just so detialed and beautiful - there are so many things you could take from it! I chose to use the general layout of the box for my card and used Sending You Love from Paper Pretties for the image.

I seem to be on a Kraft cardstock kick lately . . . it just goes with everything! :) I masked off the image and sponged on some wall color behind Sophia. I was pretty excited to use some big heart brads that I've had forever. Such a fun challenge!

Ok, so here's some Prettie News:

Paper Pretties is turning 2, and there is a big celebration!! Woo Hoo! It all starts Thursday, Jan 22 with a blog hop starting at Christie's blog! You DO NOT want to miss this!! Paper Pretties is releasing a new set, re-releasing Sealed with a Kiss in rubber (LOVE that!!) and each Prettie Girl will be giving you a peak of the newest Stamp of the Month! The fun will continue for 3 whole days culminating in our party in the forum on the 25th at 8pm EST. We'll be announcing our grand prize winner of a 6 month Stamp of the Month subscription and giving away one of our new stamp sets to another lucky winner. We'll have prizes every 1/2 hour during the party BUT you have to be there to win! Also, everyone who orders on the 25th OR joins the Stamp of the Month club will receive a free roll of American Crafts ribbon! How AWESOME is that!

Have a great day!

My 2nd Blogaversary!

The day almost passed by with out notice. . . but a sweet reader (thank you Teena in Toronto) reminded me that today is my 2nd Blogaversary!! What an amazing 2 years it has been too!

When I started this blog I never dreamed where it would take me, or the friends it would bring me! I am so very grateful to all of you who visit my little corner of blogland, your visits and comments truly make my day!! I want to say Thank You properly so please stay tuned for some Jules Jewels (aka blog candy) coming up soon! MWAH!!

Hello!

Good morning!!

I had so much fun this weekend at the Crush - the mini VSN over on SCS!! All the challenges were so much fun and I loved seeing all the beautiful creations! I'll be sharing some of my cards over the next few days. Today's card is one I made for Judy's Where the Heart Is challenge - to make a card inspired by a romantic movie.

Here's my card . . . can you guess the movie??

The heart is from one of the beautiful new Kitchen Sink Sets, 3 Step Hearts - it has some really fun and different images in it!! This one looks like a bunch of candy hearts. And I love the heart "outline" with dots - so cute!!

ETA: I forgot to say (problem with doing cards over a week ahead of time - you forget what you did!) that this layout is last week's sketch from Page Plans.

Be sure to see what beautiful cards the rest of the KSS Crew have posted today and have a great day! :)

First VSN Challenge - Friday Flirtation

Good evening!! Laaate post today but I wanted to remind you to join me for Virtual Stamping Night (VSN) tomorrow on Splitcoaststampers - The Crush! Today was the first challenge - the Friday Flirtation (aren't these cute titles the coordinators came up with!?!).

Frances (StampOwl) is the hostess and she came up with the cutest challenge - seen here - to make a Scrapling. I saw these about a month ago and just love making them! Since they are so small (1.25 x 4.25) they're pretty quick and you can use all those little scraps you've been saving.

I made my little Scrapling using a stamp from a Unity KOTM. I just stamped it, colored it, added a bit of bling and done! I made several of these at Christmas and used them as gift tags!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! Remember The Crush starts 12 noon EST here in the VSN Forum! See you there! :)

Cardstock: White (GP), Designer Paper: Daisy Buckets, Stamps: Unity KOTM, Ink: Cool Caribbean, Accessories: Nestabilities, ribbon, Copic Markers, Glitter (MS)

Prettie Cased Wednesday

I am so sorry for my VERY late post today friends!!! It's been a busy week!! I've been having lots of fun preparing for The Crush - Mini VSN this weekend on SCS (see the post just below) but I've gotten a little behind on some other projects - this was one!

Ok, so 2 weeks ago it was my turn to issue the challenge! I challenged the Prettie Girls and YOU to go to the Paper Pretties Gallery, (if you get an error when clicking the link, you just need to login to the site) find a card and case it! Easy right? It was probably my fault for not reminding you, but . . . I didn't hear from any of you. Oh well, we'll find another way to find Cuddle Me Sophia a new home - I do have a Blogaversary coming up, hhmmm. . . . :)

On to my card. It was really tough finding a card to case - I mean finding only ONE card to case!! The Gallery is filled with beautiful creations - many by our wonderful customers!! I almost chose one of those but I kept coming back to this cute card by our Charmaine - I just love the simple layout, the rounded corners, and the pretty wide ribbon! For my card I changed the colors, I used the same stamp set, Look Who's Perky, but used a different image, and I used pretty pearls instead of dew drops. I definitely will be using this clean and simple layout again!

Have you seen what the other Prettie Girls made today?? There are some awesome cards out there - go have a look! If I don't see you again before them . . see you at The Crush! :)

Cardstock: Kraft, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Look Who's Perky (Paper Pretties), Ink: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Versamark, Accessories: Berry Sorbet grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Dimensionals (SU!), Prismacolor Pencils, Pearls

Come Stamp With Me!!

I cannot seem to get enough of Valentine's this year! I think it's because . . . did you know this weekend is the Mini VSN on Splitcoaststampers?? It's the Crush - how cute is that? The "big" VSN - What's Love Got To Do With It? - is in February but this Saturday, January 17th starting at 12 noon EST there will be a mini version.

I am one of the "Heartbreakers" (read hostess)!! I'm very excited for this chance to have fun with all the great stampers over at SCS and have been having so much fun getting to know my fellow Heartbreakers!! Please come and join us on Saturday for a fun day of challenges. Here's a link to the VSN forum where you will be able to get the details and see the challenge threads on Saturday. Click here for information about what VSN is and the "rules." Basically, it's a great time to stamp "virtually" with lots of fun people!

I hope you join us for all the festivities - remember Saturday at 12 noon EST is when the fun starts - my challenge is early in the afternoon. See you there! :)

Be Mine

Are you all loving Valentine's as much as I am?? I am having so much fun making love-y cards! :) Today I pulled out a set that I haven't used in forever!! Love Bugs by Paper Pretties is almost a year old - can you believe it?!!

I wanted to play around with my new Heart Nestabilities so I used them to cut out and opening on the card front (which is 4.5 x 4.25). Since I was going through 3 layers I did have to use a knife on a few spots to get all the way through but basically it was so easy! I colored the image and mounted it on the inside for this fun little window card.

Oh and that red dotted paper, I made that using Sassy Circles, also from Paper Pretties! I simply stamped the dots on white paper using Versamark, embossed using clear ep and then brayered over the whole sheet using Real Red ink! :)

Cardstock: Basic Black, WW, Stamps: Love Bugs, Sassy Circles (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black, (Memento), Real Red, Versamark (SU!), Accessories: Red dotted organdy (May Arts), Button (Making Memories), Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Clear Embossing Powder, Brayer

Did you realize it's been almost 1 year since Paper Pretties launched their own line of stamps?! That's right and we're having a party of course!! :) Be sure to check out The Paper Clip for all the details on when and where and what kind of prizes you can win - that's right!! what's a party without prizes!!! :) Have a great day!

KSS Monday - A Day of Thanks

Good morning and Happy Monday!! After a long weekend of snow I'm ready for the new week! Plus, today it's my turn to issue the KSS Crew Challenge so let's get to it. Now that the holidays are over I keep thinking I really should make and send some thank you cards. So my challenge to you today is to create a set of Thank You cards, something easily reproducible yet still pretty! Easy right?! You can do it, and thank you notes will never go unused!

I used some beautiful Pure Luxury 120 lb cardstock from Gina K. It's smooth and white and stamps just beautifully! I wanted to maximize my investment since it is a teeny bit pricier than my normal cardstock (yet superior in so many ways!) so I made my cards 3.5 x 4.25. That way I get 3 cards out of every sheet and there is only 1/2" waste - love it! Plus I think this shape is so fun and the perfect size for a quick thank you note.

What do you think of those pretty tulips?!! Aren't they amazing! This is one of the newest stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps - 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet. I am in love that beautiful round bowl and tulip have always been one of my favorite flowers! I used the smaller sized tulips (there are 2 sizes in this set) and I stamped them 2 times for a bit fuller bouquet. Once I figured out what I was doing for colors these really went fairly fast! I stamped each step on all cards before moving on to the next step which quickened the process.

I kept the cards pretty simple - it really didn't need much with those gorgeous tulips! The "Thanks" stamp is from Other Important People and I added a few Dew Drops to the bottom right corner. I actually think the set would make a great gift too - wrapped up with a pretty bow or in a clear box - wonderful!!

Cardstock: Pure Luxe 120 lb White (Gina K Designs), Stamps: 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet, Other Imporant People (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink: Barely Banana (SU), Lemon Tart (PTI), Dandelion, Cantelop (Memento), Lulu Lavender (Memento), Lavender Lace (SU!), Grape Jelly, Angel Pink (Mement0), Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red (SU!), Ladybug Red(Memento), Ruby Red (SU!), Rhubarb Stalk (Memento), New Sprout (Memento), Certainly Celery (SU!), Bamboo Leaves (Memento), Garden Green (SU!), Accesories: Dew Drops

And since I just ordered a few supplies from KSS, I also received this month's Thank You stamp. Did you know that when you order from KSS you receive a cute little thank you stamp that changes each month? Last year's complete set is available in a Limited Edition A Year of Thanks with 3 Step Hummingbird set. I just adore this cute little owl - I'm hoping maybe Maria's working on an owl set????? So I made another set of thank you's that look totally different although still the same size.

The fun October Afternoon paper was such a great match to the dotted circle around the outside of the owl - love it when that happens!! I stamped my owl twice, punched out the center and colored in the owl with Copic markers. I stamped it again on Baja Breeze paper and used my scalloped circle Nestabilities to make the back layer. I cut off the bottom of the cards using scalloped edge scissors and added a scalloped piece of coordinating dp to the inside of the card. A little bit of velvet ric rac and a button finishes up these quick little cards.

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze (SU!), Patterned Paper: Weathervane (October Afternoon), Stamps: Thank Hooooo (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink: Rhubarb Stalk, Potter's Clay (Memento), Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado (PTI), Accessories: Brown Velvet Ric Rak (Strano), Gold Velvet ric rac (American Crafts), Brown Scalloped ribbon (Crate Paper), Buttons (Bella by Autumn Leaves), Nestabilities, Circle Punch, Dimensionals (SU!), Copic Markers

Thanks for sticking with me for this long post! I hope you get a chance to take the challenge and create some easy thank you notes - and the bonus challenge (mostly for my benefit) . . . actually SEND the notes!! :) If you do make some, be sure to link them up to the Kitchen Sink Stamps Group on Paper Craft Planet so we can all see! Oh, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the KSS Crew made today - I'm sure they will inspire!

My friend Vicki from Queen Kat Designs gave me this sweet little treat this week . . .thanks so much Vicki for making my day!! I'm supposed to name 5 people who inspire me creatively - oh my goodness, only 5 really?? I really hate to take the easy way out but I just can't do it!!! Everytime I try to make a list I end up thinking "but I have to add so and so" and then the list turns into my Google Reader list (yes all 209 subscriptions!!) ! So, I really and truly mean it when I say, please check out my sidebar Blogroll and my fellow Prettie Girls, Kitchen Sink Crew members and the SIWL DT who all inspire me daily!!

I'll be back on Monday for KSS day - we've got a fun challenge for you!!!

The cupcake stamp is from Unity - part of the Kit of the Month last month and the sentiment is from Cupcakes A'la Yummy.

Thanks for visiting today! :)

Prettie Challenged Wednesday

First of all, did you see the 4 new Kitchen Sink Stamps that were released yesterday?? They are so super you must go look - you've already seen the beautiful Love Birds here, but how about those gorgeous 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet with the fabulous bowl!?!? Love it! And the 3 Step Hearts - so fresh and fun! Finally, some a wonderful new add-on sentiment set Words of Love - I just love that beautiful font!

Now, 2 weeks ago Jessica gave us a color challenge and this was a tough one for me! I think because I am in Valentine's Day/Spring mode with designing right now so these more muted earthy colors made me think - that's a good thing!! :)

I used Howdy Girlfriend from Paper Pretties for my card (which I cannot at the moment find the link to . . .), colored with Copics and with a bit of MS brown glitter added to her boots and hat. For your continued viewing pleasure, please blurf around and see what the other Prettie Girls made today!!

REMEMBER - I am offering Jules Jewels if you will play along with my challenge from last week! You can win a Cuddle Me Sophia stamp set just for making a card cased from any card in the Paper Pretties' Gallery!!! How fun and easy - get going!! :)

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, WW (SU!), Patterned Paper: Kraft (SU!), Stamps: Howdy Girlfriend (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Accessories: Felt flower (SU!), Dark Chocolate Twill (Papertrey Ink), Hemp (SU!), Copic Markers, MS glitter, Spica Pen, Paper piercer, Corner Rounder (SU!)

Remember, you need to be a member of the Club or sign up by January 31st in order to receive this stamp the month before it is released to the public! I cannot wait to see all the cute Easter/Springtime projects you all make with this one!!

Ok, for my card I used my CM cutting system to make the egg shape. You really can't see it but the pink layer behind the image is embossed using a Spellbinders texture plate. It's a basket weave pattern which I thought was cute for this image and I picked it up in the late summer when I met my fellow Prettie Girl Jodi in Ogunquit at Maine-ly Stamps (have you used yours Jodi??)! :)

A few other things that are difficult to pick up in a photo . . . her bunny ears are flocked (love that stuff!) and her slippers are glitterfied! I took 38 minutes out of our night at my in-laws on New Year's Day to run to Walmart for some pretty new MS glitter!! I love those little 3 packs of glitter!

Don't forget my challenge from last week - your chance to win a Cuddle Me Sophia stamp for yourself!! You have a whole week to complete it and leave me a link - come on people . . . get stamping!! :)
