KSS Monday - A Day of Thanks
Good morning and Happy Monday!! After a long weekend of snow I'm ready for the new week! Plus, today it's my turn to issue the KSS Crew Challenge so let's get to it. Now that the holidays are over I keep thinking I really should make and send some thank you cards. So my challenge to you today is to create a set of Thank You cards, something easily reproducible yet still pretty! Easy right?! You can do it, and thank you notes will never go unused!
I used some beautiful Pure Luxury 120 lb cardstock from Gina K. It's smooth and white and stamps just beautifully! I wanted to maximize my investment since it is a teeny bit pricier than my normal cardstock (yet superior in so many ways!) so I made my cards 3.5 x 4.25. That way I get 3 cards out of every sheet and there is only 1/2" waste - love it! Plus I think this shape is so fun and the perfect size for a quick thank you note.
What do you think of those pretty tulips?!! Aren't they amazing! This is one of the newest stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps - 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet. I am in love that beautiful round bowl and tulip have always been one of my favorite flowers! I used the smaller sized tulips (there are 2 sizes in this set) and I stamped them 2 times for a bit fuller bouquet. Once I figured out what I was doing for colors these really went fairly fast! I stamped each step on all cards before moving on to the next step which quickened the process.
I kept the cards pretty simple - it really didn't need much with those gorgeous tulips! The "Thanks" stamp is from Other Important People and I added a few Dew Drops to the bottom right corner. I actually think the set would make a great gift too - wrapped up with a pretty bow or in a clear box - wonderful!!

Cardstock: Pure Luxe 120 lb White (Gina K Designs), Stamps: 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet, Other Imporant People (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink: Barely Banana (SU), Lemon Tart (PTI), Dandelion, Cantelop (Memento), Lulu Lavender (Memento), Lavender Lace (SU!), Grape Jelly, Angel Pink (Mement0), Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red (SU!), Ladybug Red(Memento), Ruby Red (SU!), Rhubarb Stalk (Memento), New Sprout (Memento), Certainly Celery (SU!), Bamboo Leaves (Memento), Garden Green (SU!), Accesories: Dew Drops
And since I just ordered a few supplies from KSS, I also received this month's Thank You stamp. Did you know that when you order from KSS you receive a cute little thank you stamp that changes each month? Last year's complete set is available in a Limited Edition A Year of Thanks with 3 Step Hummingbird set. I just adore this cute little owl - I'm hoping maybe Maria's working on an owl set????? So I made another set of thank you's that look totally different although still the same size.
The fun October Afternoon paper was such a great match to the dotted circle around the outside of the owl - love it when that happens!! I stamped my owl twice, punched out the center and colored in the owl with Copic markers. I stamped it again on Baja Breeze paper and used my scalloped circle Nestabilities to make the back layer. I cut off the bottom of the cards using scalloped edge scissors and added a scalloped piece of coordinating dp to the inside of the card. A little bit of velvet ric rac and a button finishes up these quick little cards.
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze (SU!), Patterned Paper: Weathervane (October Afternoon), Stamps: Thank Hooooo (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink: Rhubarb Stalk, Potter's Clay (Memento), Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado (PTI), Accessories: Brown Velvet Ric Rak (Strano), Gold Velvet ric rac (American Crafts), Brown Scalloped ribbon (Crate Paper), Buttons (Bella by Autumn Leaves), Nestabilities, Circle Punch, Dimensionals (SU!), Copic Markers
Thanks for sticking with me for this long post! I hope you get a chance to take the challenge and create some easy thank you notes - and the bonus challenge (mostly for my benefit) . . . actually SEND the notes!! :) If you do make some, be sure to link them up to the Kitchen Sink Stamps Group on Paper Craft Planet so we can all see! Oh, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the KSS Crew made today - I'm sure they will inspire!
