Prettie Wednesday!
Two weeks ago Christie challenged us to make a shaker card! I love making those - they always make people oooohhh and aaaaahhh. I tried to think of something a little different to put in the shaker and thoought that if I used my Look Who's Perky set, coffee would be perfect! Sorry it'll be late Charlie! :)
I love this cute image of the 2 mugs with swirly steam! I used some pretty October Afternoon paper for this card. We got to see their new products at CHA and I cannot wait to get some of that!
I was talking with Christie about my idea for this card and she had a good idea. Since the coffee would possible cause the stamped image to turn brown, she suggested putting a piece of acetate over the stamped image as well as using it for the window. It worked great - the coffee is safe and won't be turning my picture brown!
Another Chipboard Blossom Use
As you can see I used another chipboard blossom here. For this one I covered it with DP. I know this is pretty easy but maybe someone out there would like to see it again - lol! :)
1. Glue your chipboard face down on the back of your DP. I used Zip Dry Glue that I got in a class at CHA - it works great!
2. Using an Exacto knife, I carefully cut around the chipboard.
3. Using the awesome files from the Basic Grey Precision File Set, I filed around the edges of the chipboard to smooth the dp even. There is a file for every shape in that set - they are a must have if you do a lot of chipboard!! In the end it really looks very neat - like you bought the chipboard already covered!
4. I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the hole in the center and added a Cappuccino Bella Bauble to the center.
Remember last week my challenge was to use chipboard - surprise surprise!! :) Did any of you try it? You'll see our results next week. Today is Joanne's turn to challenge us - can't wait to see it!!
Have a great day everyone - I know I will - it's my birthday!! :)
