KSS Butterflies!

Do you love butterflies?? Do I have the set for you! Introducing 3 Step Butterflies from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I was a little bit scared about working with this set, I just wasn't sure if I was a butterfly-type person, kwim? So earlier in the week I sat down at the table, put Rachmaninoff on the iPod (aaahhhh!) and stamped into the wee hours . . . it was fabulous and I discovered I LOVE this 3 Step Butterfly set!! It was so easy to make beautiful butterflies in every color of the rainbow. The set has them in several sizes and orientations (some straight on, some flying).

I've had this beautiful Webster's Pages paper just waiting for the chance to use it!! It's a bit of a different style thank I usually do but I love it! I had so much fun adding layers and texture and embellishments! It's hard to see from the photo but the butterfly is done with the 3 step stamp (Step 1 - Platinum Planet Brilliance, Step 2 - Bashful Blue, Step 3 - Soft Sky), then layered with a light layer of Carrera Marble glitter from Martha Stewart. This particular glitter is not quite as sparkly as others - it has a somewhat frosted type appearance, a bit more subtle - which is what I wanted here. I also added some wire for the antennae with little clear Swarovski beads on the ends. The card was stitched all around the edge before adding the pretty Melissa France lace.

The sentiment is from another new KSS set called Vintage Words. This will be a set I use a lot - wonderful choice of words and font!!

I have more to share . . . another day! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Purple Hibiscus

Playing with 3 Step Hibiscus from Kitchen Sink Stamps today and I fell in love with this color combination! Step 1 - Lavender Moon, Step 2 - Plum Pudding (both Papertrey Ink), Step 3 - Vintage Violet, Step 4 - Elegant Eggplant (both SU!). For the stamen I stamped the image with Lemon Tart, then Summer Sunrise (PTI), and More Mustard. I cut it out, adhered the smaller end and popped up the top with a dimensional. The leaves are done with Spring Moss (PTI), and Mellow Moss (stamped off for Step 2).

I paired up this pretty image with some gorgeous Webster's Pages (which I scalloped across the bottom) and Cosmo Cricket paper and Plum Pudding grosgrain ribbon. I added one beautiful deep purple Dew Drop from the Paris collection to the end of the ribbon and some paper piercing above to finish it off.

Are you remembering to check out Maria's sneak peeks? If you make a guess everyday you have a better chance of winning!! Also, a fellow member of the Crew, Dee Jackson, is having Sneak Peek Contest too - it's a tough one but enter a guess to win! :)

One CHA Highlights & a Prettie Peek

Yea!! I got my suitcase last night around 8 pm! It's so nice to see my things again! :) So now that I have my card reader I thought I'd share a pic from CHA. I'm afraid I wasn't very good at remembering to take pictures! There were so many interesting things and people. If I started to make a list I know I would forget someone but I'll try to get a list together soon.

So this picture from CHA coordinates with my sneak peek today. One of the first booths we stopped at was Webster's Pages and here I am with none other than their fabulous artist Terri Conrad! I was so excited to get to meet her - she is just as sweet and warm in person!!! It was so amazing to see her and to see the beautiful new papers and products Webster's had come up with for CHA - I just LOVE the 2 new paper lines, Raspberry Truffle and Feather Your Nest (check out their website for a look). Plus they have a new line called Magnetic Expressions - beautiful frames with magnetic "wallpapers" that let you display photos, scrapbook layouts, calendar pages and many more things. These are so beautiful and very reasonably priced I think - you have to go take a look at them! Thanks so much for such a wonderful welcome Terri!!

Now, for the peek . . . have I told you that there is going to be another Paper Pretties release on Monday the 18th? Look Who's Perky is a must have for all you coffee lovers! The images are fun and different and there are lots of great sentiments. My card uses some beautiful Webster's Pages this is Snickerdoodle from the Pink Lemonade collection - I think it gives the card a fun vintage feel - like an old farmhouse kitchen - I LOVE it!! Don't you love that coffee cup border?? So many fabulous possibilities with this set. I think I always meant to go back and add something to this card . . . it looks a bit plain to me - some brads, ribbon, a sentiment, something!?! I'll see what I can do! Until then, have a great day!
