My Last Page Plans Sketch

As promised here is my last sketch card as a Page Plans guest designer. It has been such a fun month getting to design with the fun sketches and their wonderful Design Team! If you would like a chance to work with them, there will be a Design Team call starting September 5 - be sure to check out today's post on the Page Plans blog for all the details!

I have another 3 Step Sea Shells card today. I used a few of the smaller shells for this card - the sketch was perfect! :) I just love how pretty these shells are and they are so easy to stamp with! I used Vintage Words for the sentiment with my fun new Nestabilities ribbon slide dies!

I also used this as another chance to play with Becky Oehlers' beautifully designed paper, Demi Designs. She's just released a few fun new designs so be sure to check them out (along with what her Demi Divas have done with them!) - they are FREE!! Isn't that neat?! :) The papers I used here are from the Piffaro collection. Once I downloaded them and opened them in Photoshop I changed the color a bit by adding some color overlays. By doing this I was able to use the same paper but make it look slightly different. For the background paper I printed another design in the collection on a piece of Bali Breeze paper, I really like the subtle watermark look this gives it! There are so many possibilities with these digi papers - I have only scratched the surface I'm sure!!

Be sure to check out what the other Page Plans designers did using this sketch!

One last think I keep forgetting . . . September 1 is the next Paper Pretties Stamping in Your Jammies! We always have tons of fun at these parties - Charmaine comes up with great challenges, there are prizes and lots of chatting! Howdy Cowgirl will be released that night so be sure to stop by and join us for a fun night!!

Cardstock: Kraft (Papertrey Ink), White (GP), Patterned Paper: Piffaro (Demi Designs), Stamps: 3 Step Sea Shells, Vintage Words, Inks: Blush Blossom, Going Grey (SU!) Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist (Papertrey Ink), Desert Sand (Memento), Platinum Planet (Brilliance), Accessories: Ribbon (May Arts) Nestabilities , Bella Baubles, Dimensionals

P.S. I tried, I really did but 600+ posts are just too much for me to catch up on!! I had to "mark all as read" on my Google Reader last night - so sorry, I hate to miss anything!! I will work on slowly catching up as I make my daily visits. :)

Prettie Shakie Wednesday

Today I have a 2fer!! Since I am on vacation and scheduling these blog posts I was able to combine today's Prettie Wednesday challenge with the Bonus Sketch #4 from Page Plans - cool!! I just so happened that today's sketch was perfect for Danielle's challenge - to make a shaker card. I love shaker cards, they are so much fun to make and receive!

I used some fun, tropical paper from Basic Grey's Gypsy line. I thought it was summery and tropical so I decided to use the palm tree image from Soakin' Up the Sun. I used a couple of different print papers on this one, but I think it all works, right? The 2 strips are from a sheet of strips - it looks better IRL, you can see the break in the patterns better.

The sentiment is from Bugs and Fishes. It got me thinking about the upcoming Stamping Cruise - I cannot wait!! :) I love the cute little flower brads!

Thanks for checking in!! We'll be home tomorrow - with lots of laundry! :)

Cardstock: White (GP), Patterned Paper: Basic Gray Gypsy line, Stamps: Soakin' Up the Sun, Bugs and Fishes, Inks: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Flower brads (Queen & Co.), Acetate, Nestabilities, Ribbon (American Crafts), Word Window punch, sand, Dimensionals

Sunday's Sketch

It's time for the new Page Plans sketches! This week's sketch was full of possibilities - the flourishes in the top right corner could be anything!

I decided it was way past time for me to ink up this cute Wise Owl set from Papertrey Ink (which was designed by the sweet, sweet Alli Miles!). I just love these cute little owls and all the possibilities with this set - can't wait to play some more!

I used Take a Bough for my branches, it works perfectly! The owl was stamped on some Bazzill cardstock and heat embossed with brown embossing powder, which I also did for his belly (which was colored with Copics) and eyes. The nose and feet were stamped on More Mustard cardstock. Everything was cut out and assembled and added to my card with some dimensionals.

I had lots of fun with this sketch! I can't believe my month with them is almost over - it's been wonderful! Go visit Page Plans and try it out for yourself. Be sure to leave us a link so we can see your creation! :)

Cardstock: Very Vanilla Textured, More Mustard (SU!), Brown (Bazzill), Stamps: Wise Owl, Ink: Versamark, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Bamboo Leaves (Memento), More Mustard (SU!), Accessories: Dimensionals (SU!), Dark Chocolate Twill (Papertrey Ink), Chocoholic Brownie Brown EP (Cornish Heritage Farms)

Bonus Sketch #3

Good morning!! Today I'm sharing my card for the Page Plans Bonus Sketch #3. I picked up another Unity Stamp when I bought the cupcake set - this beautiful verse stamp entitled Move Mountains.

I used a digi download, Bright Colorful Brackets that I bought a few months ago from Shabby Miss Jenn Designs. Aren't they fun?! I love that I can change their size to meet my needs. I also changed the color, making it a bit creamier, by adding a color overlay in Photoshop.

Once I printed, cut out and stamped my sentiment on the bracket, I added a bit of ink around the edges to dirty it up just a tad. The paper is some fun Pink Paislee Spring Fling - love the colors!

Thanks for coming and visiting today! Thank you also for the nice messages about my Honorable Mention on Nichole's blog - what a fun little surprise that was! Go take a look at all the projects Nichole highlighted, they are amazing!! Have a great day! :)

Cardstock: Brown (Bazzill), Canon Matte Photopaper, Patterned Paper: Spring Fling (Pink Paislee), Stamps: Move Mountains (Unity Stamp Company), Ink: Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves (Memento), Accessories: brads, flower buckle (We R Memory Keepers), Lace (Melissa Frances), Prismacolor pencils, corner rounder punch

A Yummy Sketch

It's Sunday and time for a new sketch from Page Plans. I recently broke down and bought some cute new stamps from Unity Stamp Company. I had seen them at CHA in February and with all the cute cards I've seen lately . . . it just was time! :) This adorable Cupakes A'La Yummy set could not be passed up - it's my first cupcake set!

I hope you're not getting tired of seeing this yummy October Afternoon paper?! It's just so much fun to work with. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of the new lines!

I did a little masking so that I could stack up these 3 cute cupcakes from the set. They are colored with Prismacolor pencils and there is a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Crystal Effects added to the top cupcake for that something special! And how cute is the little Spellbinders Ribbon slide? I'll be using those a ton I'm sure! ;)

Thanks for stopping in today - be sure to pop over to Page Plans to see the projects from their design team and to give one of the sketches a try!!

Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Stamps: Cupcakes A'La Yummy (Unity Stamps), Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento), Accessories: Ribbon Slides Shapabilities (Spellbinders), Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Crystal Effects (SU!), Prismacolor pencils, Ribbon (American Crafts), Brads (Making Memories)

Mid-Week Sketch

Have you tried any of the great sketches over at Page Plans this month? Lots of fun - sketches always give you a great jumping off point! I've been showing you the card sketches but they also have fantastic layout sketches for scrappers each week that I'm hoping to try soon (my scrapbooks are soooooooo far behind!!).

Here is my card for the bonus mid-week sketch this week. When I saw this adorable Little Tees set designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K I just thought it was so fun! My good buddie (hee hee) Joanne made some great cards with it and every time I saw one I just loved it! So . . . now it is mine! :)

I was very impressed with the great impression you get with these unmounted rubber stamps too - the quality is excellent. One other funny little thing, but I loved the way the t-shirt actually stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture but the lines of the t-shirt are not straight and all the same width, it varies and changes which really adds to the realistic look of the t - so cool!!

From this picture it looks like the ric rac doesn't match . . . trust me it does!! If you know me at all, you know that I wouldn't use it if it did not match! :) The paper is some very pretty SEI Dill Blossom paper. I think the retro feel goes well with the t-shirt and it's retro butterfly (which has a bit of Lime Stickles added to it..

Go check out the sketch and give it a try, I'd love to see what you come up with! And go check out Melanie's set - there are tons of great images! I'll be back a little later with my Prettie Wednesday post - thanks for visiting!!

Cardstock: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: Dill Blossom (SEI), Stamps: Little Tees (Gina K), Ink: Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa (Memento), Accessories: Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Bella Baubles, felt ric rac, olive ric rac, Hodgepodge Hardware (SU!)

Sunday Page Plans Sketch

Good morning! It's time for another terrific sketch from Page Plans! This week it's Sketch #16. I used the sketch this week to create a bit of a larger size to use in a frame I had (I think my finished project is 5x7. I made this for a friend's birthday - hope she likes! :)

The sketch was the perfect opportunity to give Quilter's Sampler from Papertrey Ink a try. It was fun to look through my paper stash and find something "quilt-ish." I also did a bit of sewing on this piece which is always fun! The buttons are from my wonderful old button tin.

Go give one of the new sketches at Page Plans a try and be sure to leave me a link so I can check it out! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Cardstock: Watercolor paper (SU!), Patterned Paper: Daisy D's, Stamps: Quilter's Sampler (Papertrey Ink), Inks: Noir (Palette), Rhubarb Stalk (Memento), Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Lace (Melissa Frances), buttons, sewing machine, Nestabilities, frame (Christmas Tree shop)

More Release Goodness

With 2 releases just past I have lots of goodies yet to come! At Stamping In Your Jammies, Paper Pretties monthly release party, Charmaine issued 3 challenges (I showed you the Black & White challenge here), the second challenge was to create any 3d item - anything! I have tons of things sitting around waiting to be altered so this was a great challenge for me!!

I decided to use this cute little Mini White Tinted Purse I got from Emma's Paperie. Their design team had made the most beautiful projects with them back in February that I promptly ordered a couple - lol! :)

The purse is pretty tiny, great for little treats, favors, etc., but I thought it would make a cute little "Feel Better" bag using Bunny Slippers Sophia and part of a sentiment.

Here's a picture of what I put inside, a couple of Chai teabags, some hard candies and a tin of lip balm - you always need that when you have a cold! Wouldn't this be so cute to give to any friend feeling under the weather?!

I'll be back tomorrow with some more Kitchen Sink release projects! Have a great day!

Aloha Bonus Sketch!!

It's Bonus Time at Page Plans!! For the month of entire August there will be a bonus sketch each Wednesday - very neat huh?! This sketch was the perfect opportunity to show you another one of the brand new sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps! I adore this set - 3 Step Aloha! The images are so fun - a bit retro and very tropical! I love the plumerias, I could almost smell them as I stamped - lol! When I was in college I went on an 8 week mission trip to Hawaii (I know, you feel bad for me don't you?!). We stayed 2 weeks on Kauai and 6 weeks on Oahu. While on Oahu I spent most of the time in Kaneohe, which, incidentally is where my brother-in-law lives! So I have 2 connections to Hawaii that make me doubly love this set! :)

Ok, enough of memory lane . . .here's my card and it's a bright one! I have been saving this beautiful October Afternoon paper for just the right card and this was it! I just love, love, love it! The hula girl was actually fairly easy to do, here was my palette:

Step 1: Blush Blossom stamped off
Step 2: girl-Blush Blossom, skirt-Pear Tart
Step 3: girl-Desert Sand, skirt-Bamboo Leaves
Step 4: Close to Cocoa

Since the colors I used for the skirt were Memento Dew Drops it was very easy to ink just the skirt using the pointed tip and rounded edges! This image just pops once you add that 4th step, it's amazing!

I added some rafia stitching to the right side of the panel for a little texture and that grass-skirt feel! And on the plumerias I added just a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the centers.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the new sets from KSS and the bonus sketch at Page Plans. Send me a link if you play along - I'd love to see your creations!! :)

Thanks for visiting today and have a great day everyone!!

Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Pink (Bazzill), dp is October Afternoon, Stamps: 3 Step Aloha, Inks: Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa (SU!), Pear Tart, Bamboo Leaves, Desert Sand (Memento), Sweet Blush (PTI), Regal Rose (stamped off) Berry Sorbet (PTI), Accessories: Nestabilities, Rafia, Oval punches, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Surprises!

I received a happy email yesterday from the nice ladies at Page Plans inviting me to be a Guest Designer for August! The site provides 2 wonderful sketches each week, one a card and one a scrapbook layout, as well as beautiful inspiration from their Design Team. I always love a great sketch so I am very excited to be working with them for the next month! Go check out the announcement on their website and give this week's sketch a try!

I got the sketch yesterday morning and was happy to get a little stamping time in! So here's my card. I just got this beautiful new Lattebella and decided to ink her up right away! I flipped the sketch so that I could use this image.

The other fun thing I used here was some beautiful new digi paper designed by my friend Becky Oehlers. Isn't it beautiful?! I am just in awe that with all she has going on she still found time to teach herself how to create paper and has come up with 3 beautiful lines that she offers to us FREE!!! She has named them Demi Designs and the one I used here is from the Piffaro line called Recorder. Go here to download them and give them a try! Kimberely Crawford did a fabulous tutorial yesterday showing you exactly how to download and print them so you have no excuse not to try!! :) Thanks so much for the pretty paper Becky!!

Phew, that's it for today. Thanks for letting me share and for visiting! See you tomorrow!

Cardstock: Dark Chocolate (PTI), Creamy Caramel, Bali Breeze, WW (SU!), dp is Recorder from Piffaro (Demi Designs), Stamps: Latte Bella, sentiment from Look Who's Perky (Paper Pretties), Inks: Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa (Memento), Accessories: Bella flowers, crystals, Nestabilities, ribbon (Martha Stewart), Copic Markers
