Prettie Inspired Wednesday

Happy Prettie Wednesday!! I have another quick post today . . . 2 weeks ago Jessie challenged us to find some inspiration and make a card - easier said then done!! :) Where to start?? Well, last night as I was going through my Google Reader I came to this post on the Stamp & Cruise blog by Gina K. The post described Labadee, an island owned by Royal Caribbean - one of our ports of call next month (you remember I'm going on the trip of a lifetime next month, right?!!).

The island sounds like a wonderful place, a place to sit and relax, to enjoy some beautiful scenery and the sea - I can't wait!! So I was inspired to make a beachy, tropical card! My card came out quite differently from what I set out to make but sometimes that happens and you have to roll with it.

I used Soakin' Up the Sun - just love Sophia and her little dog catching some rays!! I used Prismacolor pencils to color the images (maybe the wooden lounger wasn't the best idea??). The tropical Scenic Route paper was my jumping off point - it's from the Charlotte collection. I even paper pieced her little towel with the polka dot paper. I think this might even qualify for this week's Challenge from guest challenger Jessica Diedrich - to use flowers on your card!! I don't use them enough!!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Prettie Girls were inspired to make!! And PARTY ALERT!! Don't forget about that tonight in the Paper Pretties' Forum is our monthly Stamping In Your Jammies party! Come by around 8 pm EST for fun & prizes! :) Have a great day!!

Cardstock: Brown, Aqua (Bazzill), Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: Charlotte collection (Scenic Route), Stamps: Soakin' Up the Sun (Paper Pretties), Ink: Palette Noir, Soft Sky (SU!), Accessories: Corner Rounder punch, Slot punch (SU!) Nestabilities, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, cream ribbon (May Arts), Brads (Queen & Co.), Primas
