Prettie Trash Wednesday
Good evening- I'm here!! I've spent all day getting packed and ready to head out bright and early in the morning - I'm pooped!! I'm kind of looking forward to 6 hours in the car, at least I'll be sitting - LOL!
Sorry I'm late with this but this is the first chance I've gotten to be on the computer. Ok, 2 weeks ago my challenge to the Prettie Girls was to take some everyday trash and create with it. So my project today uses a paper towel tube. I thought it might be fun to make a little gift holder. First I picked out a few little stamping goodies to send along and then measured how they fit in the tube and cut it to size. I needed it to be about 7 inches tall.
You can see here that I'm sending Danielle a few pieces of my DCWV Summer Matstack, a $1 stamp, a Dew Drop and a Bella sentiment
I simple stacked the paper and rolled it into the tube and slide the other items inside. I think it should be fine as long as she lays it flat when she gets it.
Then I stamped the cute Soaking Up the Sun Sophia and palm tree from Paper Pretties, did some paper piecing and coloring with my Copic markers and layered it on some thinner dp. I covered the tube with coordinating dp and added a bit of ribbon to cover the seam. I layered my image onto the tube using some Zip Dry glue and good adhesive (hopefully it will stay!).
For the ends of the tub I punched a circle with a Giga Scalloped Circle punch. I then cut a slit in every other scallop and added some adhesive so that I could seal the ends of the tube - I'm not sure if I'm happy with this method but . . . it's done. :) I added a few Prima flowers with a gem brad to the top of the little present tube to finish it off.
Ta da! I think it would a fun little present to get in the mail or just that little something to brighten somebodies day. Hope Danielle likes it!!
Last week Charmaine challenged us to use only 1 type of embellishment and this week it's Jana's turn to issue the challenge! Be sure to check out the other Prettie Girls' blogs - I'm sure they did something fabulous!!
As I said, we're off early tomorrow morning and will be back Monday evening. I didn't get myself organized enough to stamp a bunch of projects and pre-date my posts so I guess it will be a true vacation - lol!! (I may be able to find 1 or 2 things to show you). Have a great week everyone and thanks so much for visiting!!
