Who's Ready to Party?!

Yippy!! Today is release day!! Paper Pretties is releasing 3 new sets tonight at the Pretties Pajama Party. The fun starts at 8 pm EST in the Paper Pretties new Forum (have you gone and registered yet?!) Read Christie's post for more details on the party - there are challenges and prizes!!

My card today is using the new Made with Love set featuring Lexi (remember her from Sealed with a Kiss?). Isn't she just so adorable? I wish I looked as good after baking some yummy cookies! LOL! I just her cute little apron and high heels!

I wanted to make a card incorporating a recipe card - wouldn't this be cute to give with a nice batch of homemade cookies, or maybe the ingredients for the cookies! What a nice hostess gift that would be all wrapped up in a pretty dishtowel! I first colored Lexi with my Copics (I forgot to take a picture of the colors I used so I'll come back and add that later). Then I cut her out and added her to the tag using some beautiful paper from one of the past Paper Pretties card boxes. I had fun adding lots of pretty embellishments to the tag - buttons from my button tin, ribbon (American Crafts) from the Paper Pretties Boutique, and rub-ons that I got in the Melissa Frances class I took at CHA.

I then used some vellum cardstock and made a little pocket on the bottom of my card (the bottom edge of the vellum is folded under and adhered on the inside of the card to form the pocket). I adhered the tag to the front of the card, but only the bottom half so that I could slip in this cute recipe card for Cowboy Cookies - one my hubby's favorites! I printed the recipe on my computer, cut and matted it, stamped it with the heart background stamp from Sealed with a Kiss and then ran it through my Xyron 550 (that I WON at CHA - woo hoo!!) with the laminating cartridge so that it would stay nice and pretty if the recipient is a messy baker like me! :) (The link is to a similar product, I think the one I won is retired or changed).
That's it! I hope you can make it to the Party tonight! I will be there - late, because I have an SU! workshop, but I plan to jump on when I get home and I'll make up the challenges I miss on Saturday. Have a great day everyone!

Cardstock: Bazzill (red & pink), River Rock, Vellum Cardstock (SU!), Georgia Pacific white, designer paper, Stamps: Made with Love, Sealed with a Kiss, Inks: Palette Noir, Sweet Blush (PTI), Accessories: ribbon (American Crafts), buttons, Linen Thread (SU!), rubons (Melissa Francis), Circle Punch, Copic Markers, Spica Pen, Xyron
