Little Prince

Happy Saturday! We had a fun day yesterday taking our 3 older children and 2 nieces to Chuck E. Cheese's for Emma's birthday (since she's pretty blessed to have her birthday on Sunday she's having a whole weekend of events this year!). It was the first time our children had ever been and they were just so excited to see and try everything! Tonight we are having cake & ice cream with the grandparents & my brother and his family so I've been cleaning and baking this morning.

I took a little break to post this card I made last night for a friend of mine at church and her new baby (I'm a bit late, but the gift is summer clothes so I think she'll understand - LOL!).

I got this adorable Melissa Frances clear stamp set at CHA from a class I took (you can find one here). It has this cute onesie and then tons of pictures and words to add for baby's every "1st" - very cute! I had my PTI papers out so that covered my color scheme. The inspiration (or really the sketch) for the card is from a card on the Emma's Paperie blog. I started out to make a tall card (although it's not really that tall - only 6") and when I saw this card I knew the sketch would be perfect. I stamped the background on the card using Versamark and some of the images in the stamp set.

Did you know that Palette ink works on metal? When I was searching for a way to embellish the snaps on the onesie I found my Queen & Co., mini sprinkle brads were the right size but not the right color. :( Then I saw on the back of my Aqua Mist Palette pad it said you could use it on metal - you just have to heat set it. Works perfectly - I just smooshed the brad around in the pad and hit it with my heat tool - viola! I love having options like that!

Yes, I used my buttons again - a bit of inspiration from Melissa Phillips again (I just love her work!). And look at the great button I found in my button tin - it's the white one with the perfect color thread still in it!! Very neat . . . I wonder what it came off of, a coat? a skirt? hmmmm.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a great weekend!!
