Bright & Cheery!
Wow! Another weekend just flew by! But it was so gorgeous here yesterday and our family had a great day doing lots of projects around the yard! Really, it was fun! The girls just loved helping me dig up the beds and pull weeds (mostly crab grass - arrggh!). We had some compost delivered and went to town spreading that in our newly cleaned beds - it looks gorgeous!! even without plants - lol!! Hopefully I can get out soon and buy the plants . . . I'm thinking hydrangeas! :)
Ok, I did have some time tonight to stamp and it was so fun! I used some bright, pretty paper from American Crafts, love that stuff!! Taking the colors from this paper and using my 3 Step Daisy stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps, (the mid-sized daisy) I stamped the center panel to make my own dp. They are so easy to use and the result is so pretty! I used Real Red and Regal Rose for the flowers (step 1 is stamped off 1 time, step 2 is full strength). The centers are Close to Cocoa and the leaves are Green Galore (stamped off 1 time) and Chartreuse Palette. I just stamped a quarter sheet of paper with all the flowers and leaves (masking as I went) until I liked the way it looked. To pull in the Soft Sky color that is in the inspiration paper (and is the reverse to the green dotted paper) I stamped Soft Sky dots inking just 1 dot out of stamp from Backgrounds and Borders. The sentiment is from 3 Step Honey Bunny.
I think I got a bit carried away with the whole "dot" theme but once I started adding things I couldn't stop . . . and then when I tried to take them off it looked so bare! The sketch for this card was adapted from a card I saw in Cards magazine (I believe it was a card by Melissa Phillips in the April issue??). More buttons were taken from my button tin - there are really a TON of them! :)
Anyway, hope you all have a great day! I cannot believe it will be May this week! Aaron turns 1 on Friday - unbelievable isn't it?! It seems like it was only a month or 2 ago. A new month also means NEW STAMPS!! I can't wait to see what Maria has in store for us next month - I know it will be fabulous!!
