Don't you just love . . .
Free Stuff??? I am the type of person that loves yard sales - I truly believe that "one person's junk is another person's treasure!" There are so many uses for so many different things you just never know what you'll find. Well, as I was driving home last night from Target - to get all my fun goodies from the $ Spot (have you seen the cute brads they have, and paper and paper punches??) I spotted a table of "Free" stuff in one of our neighbors front yards. Leaning against the table on the ground was this box. Since I flew past I had to turn around and go back - I snatched it up, put it in my car and continued home. Only 2 days ago I was seriously considering buying some pretty ink pad holders on ebay (for about $95) - am I glad I didn't!!! Look at my brand new, FREE ink pad storage! Now granted, it's not perfect, the shelf is a little on the shallow side but about 2/3 of the pads are on the shelves and they do not fall out - plus there are 100 slots!! It doesn't hold all my pads, but a majority of them! I think it was probably a cassette holder - it has a nice little burned emblem on the side that says Napa Valley Box Company. Can I just tell you how happy it makes me to look at my new storage??!!! It gives me several inches of valuable counter space!! I'm going to live with it for a few weeks and I probably will be selling my color caddys - so watch for that if you are interested!
Ok, on to my card for today. Meet Billboardabella - isn't she cute! I love how much fun you can have with this Bella . She comes with a bunch of sentiments that fit perfectly inside of her billboard. I have to give credit to Kandi Kwirant - she sent me a beautiful card with Billboardabella a couple of weeks ago and I loved it so much! This card was inspired by her card - thanks Kandi!! The paper is so pretty - it's DCWV I think from some I won a while back. The flower is one that I received in my blog candy package from Bethany Paull. I colored her with my prismacolor pencils, added some glittery pen to her here and there and added some bling to her hairband. The side strip is embossed with my new Cuttlebug folder that my DT buddy Jillian picked up for me when they were on sale. Click on her for a closer look - it looks better close up! :) Hope you enjoy her, she just makes me happy to look at!
Have a great weekend everyone - I hope you get some stamping time in!!
Your card is fantastic, OMG, how awesome that is a great stamp holder, how wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great find Julie - I am sooo jealous! I love garage sales too....I have found some wonderful stuff at those!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so cute, I just love the colors! Great job! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
You are one lucky duck!!! I've been looking for one of these for years.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cassette holder and it is the perfect size for stamp pads - ok they hang out a bit - but they are cheap or free if you can find one.
I once saw one in the hospital - in the waiting area of the floor where my FIL was staying - and I was so tempted to make a donation to the hospital for it. It wasn't really being used and was just sitting on top of a book shelf. My husband discouraged me from doing so. We were there to visit my FIL not find bargains - I regret it to this day!
What a great find!!!
I really like your card too. I know that seems like an afterthought after all I had to say about the cassette holder. But I mean it. I like all of it - the way you coloured the Bella and the layout of your card. I'm having such a hard time using my Bellas - I have issues with their skinny arms but that's another story...
What a great find! So glad you didn't spend that money on ebay! :) Love your card too!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I used to keep my eyes open for Little Tykes items at garage sales and have found many that way. Now the kids are well passed that stage. Great card, the colors are perfect!

ReplyDeleteWow what an amazing find! and I love your Bella card!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome find and another smashing card!!! This billboard is such a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome find! That looks pretty much like my ink pad holder bought from ebay, but mine's white and doesn't hold that many pads, more like 60 or 70. What a cute card too. I'm so glad you're using your blog candy. I still haven't touched my primas. But I did use my chipboard last night.
ReplyDeleteHey! That is EXACTLY what I use for my ink. I got it at goodwill for a couple dollars. It works well. I also took out one of the slats that goes horizontally so that one row of slots would be wider for some of the ink pads that are bigger.
