What a weekend . . . I have to tell you that it's snowing AGAIN here!!! I know a lot of the country is getting some nasty weather right now and I have to say that I'll take snow over tornadoes any day!! At least we can warm in our house - the woodstove is going and it's almost naptime (for Mommy!).

Oh, BTW, have you checked out the new Papertrey Ink set released today? It's called Faux Ribbon and is fabulous!! There are great ways to create your own ribbon with this set, as well as 20 sentiments scaled perfectly for all your favorite punches (SU! and others). Nicole has done such a great job! Go check it out! My is already ordered!

I did have a chance to stamp a little bit before my DH got home last night from his conference. I wanted to give a few challenges a try. First, Amy Westerman's Scrap Stash Saturday challenge. Amy's blog is so inspiration and terrific and on Saturdays she challenges us to get rid of some of those scraps of beautiful designer paper you have laying around - you know the ones you can't bear to throw away but haven't used? I must say, I don't have too many scraps because, ready for this, I am a paper-hoarder!!! I buy it (in fact I just bought some beautiful paper yesterday at my LSS which is going out of business), but then have the hardest time cutting it!! Ok, anyway, here is my card. I know I told you that lately I am loving square cards, here's another. This was made with some scraps from SU! Recollections dp and some pieces of Chatterbox cardstock that I won in blog candy from Joanne (it has great black & white polka dots on the other side!). I also used my Jelly Roll pen that was also part of that blog candy package - it's hard to see, but it's on the dots next to the heart - looks very cool IRL! The ribbon, which matched the colors perfectly, was part of blog candy that I won from Jeanne and I thought it worked very well with this card. I did some sponging around the hearts with Close to Cocoa to give it a softer, dirtier look (hardly ever do that, but it seemed to call for it!).

Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Recollections DP, Chatterbox cardstock
Stamps: Doodle That
Inks: Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder crayons, Jelly Roll pen, ribbon, sponge

Ok, 1 more. This card was made from Colleen's sketch in her Thursday Throwdown-Sketch Challenge. I did a pretty literal interpretation of her sketch and used some of my BRAND NEW paper (gasp!). I can't believe I actually cut into it! LOL! Isn't this paper gorgeous?? It's Basic Grey - of course, can't remember the name though. Again, I used Doodle That, stamped it on WW cardstock with Old Olive, sponged around the edges with So Saffron and More Mustard for a dirtier look and then colored it with Buckaroo Blue to try and mimic the look of the DP. I really like the way this card came out even though my scalloped circle is a bit lopsided (I cut it out with scalloped scissors that weren't very sharp!). This was a fun sketch - I think I might add a sentiment across the top, what do you think?

It's so fun when other people do 1/2 the work for you, design a sketch or come up with a color combo, or other challenge. I needed a mental break yesterday so these 2 cards were perfect!

Off to take a nap - baby is wearing me out!! I go to the doctor's tomorrow again and I think I'm going to beg him to move my c-section up, this baby needs to be born! :) We'll see what happens. Have a great Sunday everyone!
