Aaaahhh Friday!
Good morning! I love it when I get to prepare the day before and can post first thing in the morning (and yes 8:30 is first thing for me!). I've been trying to play around with these images for a while now and finally came up with something I liked.
These are more stamps from my Papertrey Ink set Green Thumb. I don't know what flower Nicole intended these to be, but since I know she's a native of Maine I'm going to say she meant them to be lupines. I know Maine is not the only state to have lupines, I've seen them in Canada on our trips through Nova Scotia & PEI, but we do have an abundance of them here in Maine and they are beautiful!!
So, here is my lupine card. The color I most often see in lupines is a dark purple most like Lovely Lilac so that's what I chose, along with Pink Passion. Most of the card is self-explanatory. I used Garden Green craft ink and Clear EP to emboss the watering can on Garden Green cardstock and then cut that out and added Dimensionals behind it. One of the great things about these acrylic stamps is that you can bend them. I bent the top of the lupine slightly in order to make them more life-like.
I also stamped the sentiment using my markers in order to break it up into the size I needed. It was so easy to line up the words since you can see through the stamps! The little flower is popped out with a dimensional and has a Swaroski crystal added to the center. I did add some Stickles to the lupines but they really don't photograph well. As an aside, I'm not sure I'm a fan of Stickles . . . I am not one that likes to wait for things to dry and they just don't seem that sparkle that much - maybe I'm using them wrong???
Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Garden Green, Pink Passion, WW
Stamps: Green Thumb (Papertrey Ink)
Inks: Garden Green craft & classic, Pink Passion, Lovely Lilac
Accessories: Dimensionals, Clear EP, Corner Rounder Punch, White Gel Pen, Stickles, Swaroski crystal
I really love the way this came out - I know most people say that Bold Brights is their least favorite color family, but at this time of year I really love the bright colors after the dreary winter. My DH is going away to a conference for today and tomorrow so we're on our own until then. Have a great weekend everyone, thanks for reading I really appreciate it!! :)
I love the colors and the spring feeling! We still have snow on the ground so to see flowers is great! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it...super colors. I hate the fact that we don't have a sprig of color yet in Calgary!
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a comment on my blog! I love yours and have added it to my favorites! I especially love your Bellas! I just ordered a bunch, up until now I had been a Bella Virgin!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the colors, and sparkle you've added.
