Snow days
This is the scene at my house today . . . the photos don't capture the beauty of it, but you get the idea! Actually the real beauty of it is that I don't have to go out in it, don't have to shovel it or even feel it's cold, I am enjoying it from the warmth of my house! Can you relate??
So, I decided that since my stamping time has been very limited this week I needed to make a really nice card that I put some definite thought and creative energy into (not that I don't always think about what I'm doing . . . ha, ha!).
I am signed up to do a swap with Sistahoodabella from none other than, Stamping Bella. I love the sistahs holding their stamps - ready for any stamping emergency - and I am really pleased with the outcome of this card. So much so that I am now afraid my creative juices are sapped and I'll have a hard time coming up with a great design for my swap! Yikes!! Oh well, we'll see, maybe this will just be a jumping off point.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this. I'm not a great watercolorer but I used my small watercolor brush so that I could paint all the tiny little parts of the sistahs. There is also a little dazzling diamonds glitter on the bella's heart shirt and I FINALLY got some Prima flowers! I was at Target last week, saw them and grabbed them. They came in such a cute little milk-type bottle and were so springy and pretty. For the center of the flower I used white embossing powder to make a silver brad white - so cool, I love this technique and will try to get some photos together to show you (or those of you who don't know how . . .). The scallops were again done with the slit punch and I added white dots with my White Gel pen.
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Island Blossom DP (2005-06 hostess set)

So if you're stuck in your house today with the snow . . . and the kiddos, maybe you'll get to have some creative time - stamp a few images for them and see what they come up with. One of these days I'll have to show you what Emma, my almost 5 yo has done with "her bellas." I've created bella-lovers out of my girls already! :) Happy stamping!
