Look Who's 2!

Good morning!!  Ever need a quick and easy  birthday card for a child (or adult for that matter)?  I have a solution!  I've Got Your Number from Mint Motif available at i {heart} papers is a great set for any age!!

I was thinking about baby O turning 2 in October when I made this card!  The colors are so bright and cheery I think this would work for almost any age child - simple change the number!

The papers are all Echo Park Playground.  I am totally in love with all of Echo Parks lines lately, I'm sure you've noticed me using them a LOT!!  I've gotten them all at i {heart} papers where there is a fabulous collection of the 6x6 pads and the 12x12 kits.  Shipping is super super fast and the service can't be beat!! :)

Here's another birthday card made with the same I've Got Your Number set, but definitely different!  I've made a card similar to this one before but this time I changed up the colors and made it square.  I love paper piecing the large numbers, it definitely gives interest to the card!

This card uses the Picket Fence line from LilyBee Design - so pretty!  Both cards also use Spellbinders Circle dies and Scalloped Circle dies.  The card above also uses some rhinestones from Zva Creative.  I simple colored them with a Copic marker so that they would match the light purple dp!  Quick and easy!!

One little PSA - i {heart} papers is having a great pre-CHA Sale right now in anticipation of new CHA goodies arriving later in the summer!! Take a peek and see, there are GREAT deals to be had!! :)  Have a wonderful day!

TCP Release Day Blog Hop & TCP Tuesday 165

Happy Release Day!!  We had an absolute blast at The Cat's Pajamas Release Party last night - if you missed it, well shame on you! :)  But you have a chance to catch up now as the whole TCP Cat Pack, including our special Guests this month, is having a special Release Day Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from Leigh's blog - she's the first one since it's also TCP Tuesday #165 and she's the Hostess With the Mostest this week!  Everyone knows Leigh's sketch's rock and this one is no exception!  Looky, looky . .  .

One of the most adorable stamps in this release (but seriously, I love them all!!) is Wheel LoveAmy's use of it for her Paper Pleating Tutorial on SCS 2 weeks ago set SCS on fire with people asking about the cute bunny on the bike!  I had to try my hand at a bit of paper pleating on this card and it was so easy thanks to the great tutorial!

As you can see I turned the sketch on its side for this one and there are TONS of layers here - so unusual for me but sometimes you just go with it!  I got a brand new pack of Country Drive from Echo Park (get it at i {heart} papers!!) and it seemed perfect for our bunny biking through the country!

I used one of the pretty Exotic Butterfly dies that is now available as well as the Big Scallop CutUps die which is an "old" favorite!  I just love the retro bike so it has a retro color and fun white basket on the front (remember those white plastic "wicker" baskets?!!).

I decided to add the sentiment on the inside which gave me an excuse to use more of the gorgeous dp, another Exotic Butterfly and the fun sentiment from the set - love love the fonts!!

Ok, it's time to hip hop out of here and over to Jen's blog - you know you'll see something amazing there!!

Thanks for hopping with us!!

KSS Monday with Friday's Sketch

Good morning my friends!!

First I wanted to let you know that I will have 2 posts today so please scroll down or click here to view the last of the TCP peeks!

I popped into the Kitchen Sink Stamps Forum yesterday to see what I had missed the last week or so.  Lynn has been busy busy with her 10 minute challenge cards.  They are amazing!  She makes me think I could actually make a 10 minute card! LOL!  I also found that Connie had posted a brand new sketch challenge on Friday and Makiko's Kitchen Pantry challenge was to use a stamp set that hadn't been inked in a while.  So I got to work (don't you love it when you can work with a challenge or two?  It gives you someplace to start!).

I pulled out Multi-Step Sunflowers from Kitchen Sink Stamps and had fun using a great color recipe from Maria!  Those color recipes are such a great resource!  I changed it a tiny bit but not much.  Also, if you check out the sketch you'll notice that I flipped it.

I couldn't decide where to put the sentiment so I opted to use the inside.  Of course I had to use some pretty paper in there as well!  Isn't that dp puuurrrty?  It's the Picket Fence line from LilyBee Designs (I bought mine at i {heart} papers where you always get great & fast service!)

Here are my ink steps:

Sunflower:  Step 3 - Rhubarb Stalk - 2x, Step 2 - Rhubarb Stalk, Step 1 - Rhubarb Stalk - stamped off and then Potter's Clay -stamped off with Sweet Plum inked only around the edges.  Then, just because I'm crazy, I used Step 1 again, inked just around the edges with Imperial Purple and, stamped off.

Leaves:  Step 3 - Cottage Ivy, Step 2 - Cottage Ivy - stamped off and then Dandelion, Step 1 - Pear Tart

Watering Can:  Step 4 - Imperial Purple, Step 3 - Imperial Purple - stamped off, Step 2 - Imperial Purple - stamped off 2x, Step 1 - Imperial Purple - stamped off 3x and then London Fog - stamped off

I hope you spend some time today visiting the rest of the KSS Crew - they always have something amazing! Thanks for visiting!

This is my 2nd post today - please scroll up or click here for my KSS Monday post!

Welcome to the last peek day at The Cat's Pajamas!! It's Release Day so remember to join us from 8-10 pm EST in The Cat's Pajamas Forum at SCS for more peeks, chatty fun and even a chance at more prizes!!

Yesterday I showed you my project from Stamping Around Ohio but I couldn't quite show you all of it since one of the stamps hadn't been revealed yet!  Well today we are peeking Kick Some Grass and so  . . . ta da! Here is the complete project.

I had so much fun designing this project with the stamps!! That Cloud Border CutUps die is just the perfect addition to our die line-up!!  Here's a close-up of today's peek:

The "Smile" sentiment is also part of the set and I love the fun font on this one!!

Ok, last day, so be sure to check Alma's blog for a list of all the designers posting today!  See you at the party tonight! :)

Day 6 - Away We Go!!

Hello and welcome to Day 6 of Sneaky Peek week at The Cat's Pajamas!  Only 1 more day to wait until you can buy all the new goodies, including 8 new stamps sets, 4 new CutUps dies and a yummy array of luscious seam binding!  Remember to join us for the Pajamas Party tomorrow (Monday) night from 8-10 EST in The Cat's Pajamas Forum on Splitcoaststampers

Today we're using Away We Go - man has that little bunny been busy hasn't he??  Sort of like a bunny's Around the World in 80 Days using all modes of transportation!  LOL!  My project today may look familiar to some, it was my class project at last weekend's Stamping Around Ohio which was generously sponsored by The Cat's Pajamas.  The fabulous ladies who attended got a special preview of some of this release and I'm quite sure they were smitten!  It also may look familiar as it was a take-off on a past Project of the Month by Sony Christoph - great ideas must be case'd right?! :)

You may have noticed that I strategically fuzzed out a portion of the frame, that's because it's tomorrow's peek, hee hee!!  All the more reason to come back tomorrow and see the rest! :)  The project also uses What a Blast which is a huge favorite of mine, the new Cloud Border CutUps die, the Pinwheels die and the sentiment flag from the Easy Rosette CutUps die

Thanks for visiting today!  Remember to stop in at Alma's blog for a list of all designers who are posting today!

TCP Peek Day 4 - Up Up and Away!!

Photobucket
Good morning!!  What does Day 4 of Sneaky Peek week bring you from The Cat's Pajamas???  How about a little black & white fun!  I know there are lots of you out there just waiting for a brand new penguin caper, so here you have it, Up, Up and Away!

Totally cute right?  The new MME Lime Twist paper is a perfect companion to this set and you can see that I paper pieced the kite to match the background paper.

I used some yummy Brown Sugar Divine Twine to tie up my buttons with and I even snuck a bit of the Icing Border CutUps die in there (it's just showing a tiny bit underneath the green layer!).

Remember to come chat with us on the In It To Win It thread on SCS and check out Alma's blog for a list of where you can see more of this cute flying fellow today!  Thanks for the visit!

Flutter By - Sneaky Peek Day 3!

Photobucket
Sneaky Peek Week continues with Day 3  - today with 2 peeks!!  Check out Alma's blog for a list of all the peekers today.  Today I used Flutter By, another totally fantastic set with everyone's favorite bunny!  It also seemed like a good time to give you a look at an amazing new CutUps die, Lacey Butterfly.

I went pretty clean and simple with this one, just freehand cutting some hills from TCP's luscious Felt and stitching it in place.  The flowers are little velvety flower brads that I've had forever!  How cute is that bunny with his butterfly net?  And I love the little doodle lines (not being a doodler myself, I so appreciate this being a stamp!!)! :)

For the butterfly, I die cut it from cardstock first but I also wanted  to use it for the sentiment.  Now, I should say that this may not work for everyone - but I use a Cuttlebug and those of you out there with one know that each machine is different, right?  My machine is a bit on the "loose" side.  If I want to make sure that detailed dies like this completely cut, I add a cardstock shim or two for added pressure.  So, when I put my acetate sheet though with the Lacey Butterfly die, I didn't add my usual shims.  What I ended up with was a butterfly shape and the impression of the holes, but none of them pop out.  I had a solid butterfly to stamp my sentiment on (using Stazon of course)!

I hope you're enjoying all the festivities this week!  Be sure to visit the In It To Win It thread on SCS for a chance to win one of the new release stamps!  Then join us for the Pajama Party (i.e., Release Party) on Monday, June 27 from 8-10 EST for more peeks and more prizes! WOW!  See you soon!

Day 2 - Bearing Flowers and TCP Tuesday!

Photobucket
Good morning!! It's Day 2 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas and today's set is sure to please!  Bearing Flowers features our adorable PJ the bear and a giant sunflower . . . which leads into another one of the new CutUps dies, Sunflower Rosette!  Oh my goodness the versatility of this die is going to floor you!!  Be sure to check out all the peeks today to see what I mean - they are all listed on Alma's blog.

In all the Release week hubbub you may have forgotten about TCP Tuesday, but Susan's challenge this week is so fun and perfect for today since it's all about Bears!!  She's challenged us to use any bear stamp from The Cat's Pajamas!  So I took the challenged and used today's peeks stamp.

I just love PJ with his giant sunflower - so many great coloring and paper piecing possibilities!!  It's difficult to see but I added some Glossy Effects to the sunflower center.

How about that Sunflower Rosette?  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!  It's so unique, beautiful and like I said above, versatile!  I used it very traditionally - I cut out 2, pleated them (the die scores them for perfect pleating!) and adhered them together.  The center die also embosses the "seeds" so I filled each one with a tiny brown rhinestone.  The die also has a leaf die but I used some yummy new seam binding for leaves this time, tying it at an angle.

Thanks for visiting today!  Remember to visit the In It To Win It thread on Splitcoaststampers for your chance to win new release stamps each day this week!!

Putt-Putting!! TCP Sneaky Peek Day 1

It's finally here!!  The Cat's Pajamas long anticipated Sneaky Peek Week officially begins today - yea!!  If you haven't already found it, check out the In It To Win It thread on Splitcoaststampers for a chance to win some of the new stamps each day!  Today's winners will be posted in that same thread.

Today we're peeking the absolute cutest bunny set yet (although you might just see another bunny or two come hopping along before Sneaky Peek Week is through!), Take Off.  Seriously, how could resist this adorable little plane with its furry pilot?!?!!  Sigh . . . {heart}!

There's also a peek at one of the fabulous new CutUps dies being released - how about that Cloud Border? I KNOW!!  It's such a cool idea you know it had to be TCP! :)  Not only does it make a fabulous border, but it's so easy to cut them apart and use for individual clouds, genius!  Oh and there is one more product peeked here, can you guess???  You're going to flip and want it ALL of course!

You might have guessed that this card is doing triple duty for me today.  Not only is it Day 1 of Sneaky Peeks, but it also is for last week's TCP Tuesday Color Challenge - pink, red & aqua.  I also used Jen's June SFYTT - just turned upside!!

Be sure to check out Alma's blog each day this week for a listing of what set is being peeked and what Cat Packers are peeking!

May Freedom Ring

Good morning!! I'm late this morning with my Kitchen Sink Stamps post - must be still recovering from the GREAT weekend we had at Stamping Around Ohio.  I had such a blast hanging out with Maria!! We got a beautiful tour of scenic Ohio, we ate some fabulous food, had lots of stamping time and really got to enjoy ourselves!!  The Kitchen Sink Stamps Workshop on Friday went so well and we made some really fabulous projects - we'll be sharing those soon.

But for now, I have a quick CAS card for you using today's CAS challenge from SCS - a Tall & Thin card.  I really love tall and thin, it's a fun shape to try if you haven't!  Since today is the first day of Summer I'm celebrating with Playful Stars and Swirly Hearts & Stars from Kitchen Sink Stamps.  As you can probably tell this card came together very quickly so wouldn't it make a fun invitation to a 4th of July celebration?!  What a fun way to invite your guests.

Be sure and visit the rest of the KSS Crew today to see what treats they have in store for you!  I'm off to register my children for camp!  Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

TCP ATC Blog Hop!

Good morning! See I told you it'd be a busy week! :) But we have something so special and fun today! A few months ago Linda (LSN to SCSers) decided to host an ATC swap for all lovers of The Cat's Pajamas.  Of course, I had to join in the fun - especially since I was part of one last year, also hosted by Linda, and got some amazing little works of art!  ATCs are so much fun to make and even more fun to receive! :)

So Linda suggested that we have an ATC blog hop to share all our wonderful creations and here we are!! This is the beginning so you've come to the right place!  My little ATCs used Poochie from the Fun in the Sun set.  I've always loved all the super swanky stamps in this set - so cool!

I die cut the waves and then used a bottle of Ranger White Paint (the kind with the sponge dauber built in) to add some "foam" to the waves.  I used Leigh's little cloud technique which I LOVE to do now and really had fun adding bright, summery accents!  I had to use the Easy Rosette CutUps die which I think everyone should have - lol!! Great stuff!

Ok, your next stop is Ms jennypete and you do NOT want to miss this one! Let's just say . . . amazing!!

Oh and here's the order in case you get lost along the way. - Happy Hopping! :)

Enjoy

Good Morning Monday!! :)  This is SUCH a busy week for me, which means . . . I won't be around too much again - although I will have a few posts this week!   I leave for Stamping Around Ohio on Thursday and I cannot wait!!  I'll be seeing so many friends again and meeting lots of new ones!

All day Friday are the Kitchen Sink Stamps Workshop with Maria (I'll be teaching one class as well!) and I can't wait to show you the projects - fabulous!  Can I just say that the NEW stamps Maria has cooked up for the event are just yummy!!!  She's been a busy little designer bee and you won't be disappointed with the next few upcoming releases!!  But, you'll have to wait until after the event to see some new ones.  For now, I have a little card to share.

I used Father's Pocket Watch from Kitchen Sink Stamps to make this beauty.  I love the layers of damask scallops and pearls at the bottom giving it a girly look!  You could definitely use this for a birthday card or other celebration!

Check out what the rest of the Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew has for today!! Have a great day!
