Flutter By - Sneaky Peek Day 3!
Sneaky Peek Week continues with Day 3 - today with 2 peeks!! Check out Alma's blog for a list of all the peekers today. Today I used Flutter By, another totally fantastic set with everyone's favorite bunny! It also seemed like a good time to give you a look at an amazing new CutUps die, Lacey Butterfly.
I went pretty clean and simple with this one, just freehand cutting some hills from TCP's luscious Felt and stitching it in place. The flowers are little velvety flower brads that I've had forever! How cute is that bunny with his butterfly net? And I love the little doodle lines (not being a doodler myself, I so appreciate this being a stamp!!)! :)
For the butterfly, I die cut it from cardstock first but I also wanted to use it for the sentiment. Now, I should say that this may not work for everyone - but I use a Cuttlebug and those of you out there with one know that each machine is different, right? My machine is a bit on the "loose" side. If I want to make sure that detailed dies like this completely cut, I add a cardstock shim or two for added pressure. So, when I put my acetate sheet though with the Lacey Butterfly die, I didn't add my usual shims. What I ended up with was a butterfly shape and the impression of the holes, but none of them pop out. I had a solid butterfly to stamp my sentiment on (using Stazon of course)!
I hope you're enjoying all the festivities this week! Be sure to visit the In It To Win It thread on SCS for a chance to win one of the new release stamps! Then join us for the Pajama Party (i.e., Release Party) on Monday, June 27 from 8-10 EST for more peeks and more prizes! WOW! See you soon!

Aack, this is the sweetest thing, Julie! I love the felt hills, the double butterfly with the acetate layer for the sentiment(you crazy creative girl), but I think my fav part is that sweet pink net...love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Julie! I LOVE the sentiment stamped over the butterfly, just brilliant!
ReplyDeleteOMG- right away I thought 'how the heck did she get the sentiment on there??'..thanks for sharing! Love the rolling hills!! so your cuttlebug is 'loose'...isn't that a shame;) lol
ReplyDeleteI gotta loose Cuttlebug too - I think I have just wore the thing out! But how amazing that a problem turned out to be such a cute idea! This is such a sweet card. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a Cuttlebug, and it was loose, I'd only hope to do a card as lovely as this.
ReplyDeleteSuch a terrific idea for the sentiment.

ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say I love your blog design...very cool! :)
