TCP Tuesday 132

Yesterday the new The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday challenge was posted.  The "Hostess with the Mostess" this week is Sony and she gave us a color challenge - check it out!  I was a bit intimidated at first but once I started looking through my dp stash I got excited!

So I pulled out the cute Witchy stamp set from the last release and got to work.  See, she's a good little, like Glenda - lol!

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for a starting point - this was such a fun sketch!  AND, I just got the Pinking Border and Inside Pinking Border Cut-Ups so I just had to use them too! :)

So what do you think?  Wanna give these cool colors a try? We'd love you to make a card and link it up on Alma's blog.  The new Swanky Stamper will be chosen soon and you "can't win unless you play!"  You should also swing by TCP's forum on Splitcoaststampers to share it with us!!

Cardstock:  Orange Zest, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye, Stamps: Witch (The Cat's Pajamas), Ink: Memento, Accessories:  Copic markers, foam adhesive, rhinestones (Kaiser), Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), brad, Tools:  Pinking Border, Inside Pinking Border (Cut-Ups, The Cat's Pajamas), sewing machine

Eskimo Kisses

This is copied from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog today.  TFL! :)

Happy Tuesday! It's my last post as a Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' and I want to say a huge thank you to Korin for having me! I have a ton of fun playing with SNSS's beautiful stamps and today is no exception.

I used an adorable stamp set, Eskimo Kisses and last Saturday's sketch from The Sweet Stop - perfect combo!!

The colors were taken from this pretty paper from SEI.  For the background burgundy paper I did a faux letterpress technique on it using the Spellbinders snowflake texture plate.  I coated it with white ink first and then ran it through my Cuttlebug.  Once it came out I sprinkled it with Iridescent embossing powder to give it some shine!  I wish you could see more of it around the side, it looks really neat!  Oh and a bit of Fun Flock around the trim of the jackets just adds a bit of fun!

Thank you everyone for visiting and hanging out with me this month!! It went so fast but was tons of fun!    Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Ripe Avocado, Scarlett Jewel (Papertrey Ink), White (Neenah), Patterned Paper:  Kris Kringle (SEI), Stamps:  Eskimo Kisses (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps), Ink: Black (Memento) Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink), Accessories:  Ripe Avocado Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Copic markers, tag corner punch (SU!), rhinestones (Kaiser), Snowflake texture plate (Spellbnders), Iridescent Ice embossing powder (SU!),  Open Scallop die (My Favorite Things), Fun Flock (Stampendous), snowflake (Target)

Howdy Cowgirl!

I have 2 posts today - please scroll down for some fun news!

Good Monday morning!! I hope you all had a great weekend!  We had all but 1 puppy go to their new homes this weekend and it's quiet around here!  The last puppy will go home Tuesday morning.  I don't think it's hit us all yet that they are really gone but through the magic of Facebook, I know we'll be watching a few of them grow! :)  I added a few new pictures of them on Facebook over the weekend if you wanted to get one last peek.

But now, it's time for Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday!  I used one of the newest sets, Multi-Step Cowboy Hat for my card today.   I made a fun little line up of boots ending with some pink cowgirl boots - I think I need some that color! hee hee!  I stamped the pink boots first and then masked them and added the brown boots.  The color recipes are all listed below.

Brown Boots: Step 5 - Black, Step 4 - Rich Cocoa, Step 3 - Rich Cocoa (stamped off), Step 2 - Summer Sky, Step 1 - Dessert Sand (all Memento)

Pink Boots - Step 5 Lilac Posies-  Step 4 - Rose Bud, Step 3- Rose Bud (stamped off 1x, repeat), Step 2 - Angel Pink, Step 1 - Dessert Sand.

Take a few minutes and visit the rest of the KSS Crew today!  Thanks for visiting today - have a great week!

New Sets Continued . . .

Hello my friends!  I promised you some additional cards using the newly released Kitchen Sink Stamps sets so let's go!

First up, a great set called Multi-Step Texas Longhorn.  Since I'm not from Texas I did a quick search for the team colors of the Texas Longhorns and found they're orange and white - love it!!  This card is super, super simple but I love how the simplicity lets the very cool longhorn image shine! How cute would this be to a college student at the University of Texas?!  Seriously, this card took about 5 minutes - and how cool is that image of the longhorn?

Next, I played with the Multi-Step Cowboy Hat set.  This hat is so cool but I wanted to do something a bit different with it and thought, how cute would that be for a baby card?!  I stamped the image and cut it out omitting the gloves.  Again, the layout is very simple here but that's what I've been feeling lately! :)

The dp is Crate Paper - again, loving the colors!  The "welcome little" part of the sentiment was taken from Multi-Step Baby Elephant.  All it needed was some sweet little star rhinestones - done! :)

Be sure to check out all the great sets HERE and if you feel like shopping use code JULIE10KSS to get 10% off.  Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!!

Cardstock: Orange Zest, White (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Multi-Step Texas Longhorn (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Ink:  Step 5: Frayed Burlap, Step 4: Frayed Burlap (stamped off), Step 3: Frayed Burlap (stamped off 2x), Step 2 - Frayed Burlap (stamped off 3x), Dessert Sand (Memento)  Accessories:  Nestabilities (Spellbinders), foam adhesive

TCP Tuesday & a Hop!

Please scroll down or go HERE for my Sweet 'n Sassy Guest Post

It's time to HOP! Yippy!! Did you make a card for The Cat's Pajamas Think Pink Customer Blog Hop?  Hopefully you linked up your creation on Alma's Blog and are ready to go!! Now it's time for a quick hop around with The Cat Pack. You should have arrived here from Joanne's blog but if not, head over to Amy's and follow the links.

Today's TCP Tuesday challenge from the lovely Amy is to use pink for your embellishments - see how perfectly that works with the Customer Blog Hop? Sweeeet!!

I used the Flower Button dies from TCP to make a pretty pink floral embellishment for my card using A Cuppa.  I also added some tiny pink pearls to the scallops.  PJ's apron just begs to be pieced don't you think?  I'd actually love a cuppa right now, stinkin' cold!

Time to move on and your next stop is the super swanky Susan!  Be sure to keep hopping all the way to the end, Alma will be announcing the winner of the Think Pink Customer Blog Hop . . . is it you??!

Warm Hugs

It's Tuesday - here's my Guest Designer post for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! :)

Eeeks! It's about time to be thinking about preparing for winter!!  I'm not ready. . .I'm not even ready to think about getting ready! LOL!  But, I do have this adorable snowman stamp set, Love You This Much, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that makes you believe snow is a good thing!  The snowman is just adorable right?!

I did some paper piecing for his coat with some fun houndstooth paper.  The colors are a bit unexpected but I had several pieces of patterned paper in front of me with a green, red and brown color scheme and thought it looked neat!  The layout is my take on this week's CPS sketch.

I love the sentiments that come with this set - different fonts, different sizes and layouts make it very versatile.  Warm Hugs just seemed appropriate!  Wherever you are today, I hope you're warm!  Have a great day!

Deep Breath . . . & NEWS!!

Hello!!  As some of you may have seen on Facebook already, I am so completely thrilled to be the newest member of The Cat's Pajamas design team, fondly known as The Cat Pack! You can read about it HERE.  I have loved TCP for such a long time and have had the great pleasure of seeing Alma on several occasions. She is just the nicest, warmest, most generous person!!  Thank you  so much Alma!!  And I am so so so happy to be joining this amazing team of stampers - some who I've worked with before (and love) and all who I've admired forever! YEA!!

So, yesterday was TCP Tuesday, and Toni's challenge is an inspiration challenge - a pretty pink & white teacup!  You can find all the details on Toni's blog, on Alma's blog and on Splitcoaststampers in the TCP Forum.  I just got this cute Deep Breath set and couldn't wait to ink it up!  I combined this week's challenge with the sketch from last week (since I never got a chance to make that one).

As you can tell, I picked the pink from the inspirational piece - love this week bunny  in his pink hat & scarf!  Since I cut him out to fit the sketch I used a bit of clear cardstock to die cut a "skating rink" edged with glitter for him.

Be sure to add your card to Alma's blog for a chance to win $25 in Cat Cash AND check out the details for the Think Pink Customer Blog Hop going on now!! Thanks for stopping in and sharing in my joy today! :)

KSS Crew Challenge

Good Monday Morning! I'm sure you all remember that last week I messed up and forgot to do a project for the new Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew Challenge, right? Well the challenge was to create a Halloween project. I finally was able to make mine and am sharing it today.

Please visit the KSS Blog for all the details and rules about the challenge but basically if you play along, you have a chance to win VERY cool prizes!!  I've had the paint can sitting around and thought it would make a neat container for a cupcake!  The sets I used are:  1/2 Pint Alphabet Buddy, Multi-Step Harvest Moon, Ready 4 Any Holiday and Happy Birthday Cupcake.  I simply stamped my images across a sheet of paper and then cut it in strips to wrap around the can!  The bats came from Multi-Step Harvest Moon and were super easy to stamp repeatedly on orange.

I thought since I was putting a cupcake inside the bucket (appropriately decordated for the season) that the cupcake image would work well as a tag.  I added some different color and size rhinestones to the frosting - yum!! :)

So,  now it's your turn!! Make a Halloween card or project and submit it on the KSS Blog - you could win! :)  Remember also, that you can use coupon code JULIE10KSS anytime for 10% off your order.   Please visit the rest of the KSS Crew today for more goodies and have a great day!

Tiffany Doodles Challenge #5!

Hello and Happy October 7th!  Oh my baby's 1st birthday is in 2 days - can you believe it's been 1 year already!?!?! But I digress. . .It's time for the latest challenge over at Tiffany Doodles- have you been playing along?? You know that there's a chance for you to win FREE digis right?  And wait until you see the cuties she's been adding - great stuff!!

This month's challenge was to create a Fall themed card and I used one of the new Fall Critters - they are all so cute I had a hard time choosing! But I chose the owl and had so much fun coloring her (mine's a her, see the pink belly - lol!).  I had this great Jillibean Soup paper with the birch trees on it, and sitting on some of the branches are cute owls - well the owls didn't make it to my card but they had pink bellies so I used those colors for mine!

I used Nestabilities to make the little frame around the owl (she needs a name!) and then did a bit of stitching around it and the card itself. The leaves are die cuts that I added scored lines to and a bit ink for shading.  In the detail shot below hopefully you can see that I added a bit of shine to her eyes using a Clear Glaze pen - love that thing!

So, visit Tiffany Doodles to find out all the details on the challenge and to view the design teams projects - they are all just amazing!!  Or you can click the links below to go right to them.  You have a whole month to enter so there's no excuse - get going!! :)

New - October KSS Crew Challenge!

Happy October!  Since it's the first Monday of the month that means it's time for a brand new Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew Challenge!  This month Makiko challenges us to create a Halloween Trick or Treat project - a treat bag or box, a card or tag, maybe a scrapbook page!  Anything you'd like to do relating to Halloween.  Be sure and visit the Kitchen Sink Stamps blog for all the details, rules and PRIZES!  You have to play to win you know - and this is something everyone can do!!

Now confession time, I totally spaced the first Monday of the month thing . . . I don't know where my head is but I made a card yesterday to share here today and it has absolutely nothing to do with Halloween - I can't even fudge it - lol!  So, I'm going to share my card and then come back later today with my challenge project.  Deal??  I hope you all can pardon the ooops! :)

The card I made uses the new set Mulit-Step Ribbons With a Cause. And since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month I made a survivor card - a fairly simple one but I added a good amount of glitter (applied after I taped down some 1/8" Scor-Tape) and some beautiful pearl accents.  After I finished stamping the 3 step ribbon, I stamped over it with the Step 1 stamp using Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder - it makes it nice and shiny and give it a bit of umph to finished project.

My ink recipe for the ribbon is:  Step 3 - Angel Pink (stamped 2x), Step 2 - Angel Pink, Step 1 - Angel Pink (stamped off, 2x).  I really think this set will see a lot of use! It's so versatile since you can make the ribbons any color you want to coordinate with any cause!  Another wonderful thing about this set is the Ribbons With a Cause Giving Back program at KSS.  This month, for every Ribbons With a Cause set sold 15% of the proceeds will be donated to a Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  For a list of the KSS Spotlighted Causes and Charities for each month go HERE

Please visit the rest of the KSS Crew today - they all will have some fun Halloween projects for you since they all pay attention to the date! LOL!

WCMD 2010

Happy World Card Making Day 2010!  Wow that year went fast!  Did you know it's also opening weekend of bow hunting season here in Maine??  What? Really? *LOL*  It's also my sweet hubby's birthday today so we have some fun things planned (although I'm hoping to squeak in some stamping time while he's in the woods this morning!)  Check out the huge list of bloggers participating in WCMD today on the Paper Crafts site!

Ok, you really came here for a card right?  Well I found this fabulous Coffee Pot - a recent digital stamp released from Tiffany Doodles.  I love vintage kitchenware - enamel stuff especially!  I have several large enamel cream & green pots & pans. I also love the gray agate ones which is what I tried to imitate here - I don't think I quite got it, but I still love the gray!  The layout is from this week's CAS challenge on Splitcoaststampers where, by the way, they have a whole day of WCMD challenges!

Right now Tiffany Doodles has a great sale going on, buy 3 stamps and get 1 free!! Tiff is always adding super cute new digis so be sure to check it out!!

So, how about it?? Go ahead and make a card today - get started on some holiday cards or just make a card for a friend!  There are lots of WCMD sales going on too!  Have a great day!
