Roses for My Friend
Happy Saturday! I get to spend the morning with our tax preparer - yee haw!! Don't you just love this season? :LOL! But that's not why you're here . . .it's time for the Saturday Sketch from The Sweet Stop.
For today's card I took a more "impressionistic" approach to the sketch - it's not exact but I made it work. Isn't that the beauty of a sketch? You use it as a starting point, an inspiration, and you make it your own! I used a brand new stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps called Roses in Bloom. These roses are so gorgeous (and I love the font too)!! The roses look like the sea roses (Rosa Rugosa) that we have in abundance here in Maine so that's how I colored them. Once the smaller rose was colored and cut out, I stamped the smaller leaf on Spring Moss paper and cut it out. For the background panel, I stamped it repeatedly using the small leaf in Spring Moss ink, then die cut it with Nestabilities Label Eight
These roses make me wish for Summer! They are all over the ocean front town my parents live in and the smell is heavenly! It won't be long now! :)
Jump over to The Sweet Stop to check out the sketch and what the other Sugar Babies have made today! Then pull out your supplies and give it a try! Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful weekend!
