a Winter hi!
Boy is it hard to get back into the normal routine after last week! Anyone else finding that?? It doesn't take long to "break" a habit - lol!! Even though the temps here yesterday made me think of Spring I know Winter is here for a good long time yet! My Prettie card today is made with Gliding By - which is the January Stamp of the Month Club stamp - you have only 1 more day to sign up (sign up here)to get her in January - otherwise you have to wait until her public release on February 1st.
When my SIL was over on Saturday we did a little bit of coloring with my Copics - just practicing, etc. . . but when I saw this image on my desk last night I decided it deserved it's own card - even though it is a little bright! I actually had my October Afternoon Good Cheer paper out when I colored it so that is where the colors came from.
I drew a line behind Sophia for the skating pond and added a bit of sparkly snow (i.e. liquid appliqué with glitter poured on it). I also added Crystal Effects to the whole "pond" - not sure if I like that, it did make my paper a bit wonky. I also masked Sophia and sponged in a bit of color behind her. The card base is layered using 2 pieces of Soft Sky, one paper pierced and one embossed with Swiss Dots, for a nice subtle look. The ribbon is repurposed - I actually swiped it from a Yankee Swap gift (someone else's) at my husband's office Christmas party (thanks Wade!). :)
Cardstock: Soft Sky (SU!), White (GP), Patterned Paper: Good Cheer (October Afternoon), Stamps: Gliding By (Paper Pretties), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Snowflake Punch (Marvvy), Button Liquid Appliqué, Dazzling Diamonds glitter , Dimensionals, Crystal Effects (SU!), Swiss Dot Embossing folder (Provo Craft), Copic markers, Spica pens
Thanks for stopping by today - it brightens my day more than you know!!
