More than a Peek!
Good evening! It's a bit later than I had hoped but how about seeing one of those sneak peeks in full??!! Any interest?! :) I have been getting lots of people saying they couldn't wait to see all the sets - well tomorrow is the day!! Thursday, September 25 is Kitchen Sink Stamps' One Year Anniversary!! Happy Anniversary Maria!! May there be many, many, many more of these anniversaries to celebrate and thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of sharing this year with you - I'm so excited to see what you have in store for year 2!! :)
Here it is in full (Sorry about the pic - it's soooo much prettier IRL but it was difficult to capture) . . . introducing 3 Step Hummingbird, which is part of a larger Limited Edition 1 Year Anniversary set. This is something you definitely do NOT want to miss!!! I have no idea how many of these sets Maria has but I would hate for you to miss out on it so please be there bright and early tomorrow morning when the sets become available!! :)
As I said yesterday, I made this card for Cammie's Heart to Heart Blog Candy Challenge - be sure to check that out if you haven't already - tomorrow is the last day to enter! I made this card using Lauren's weekend sketch - it was absolutely the perfect layout for this little beauty!!
A quick Google search taught me that hummingbirds come in lots of pretty colors - but many of them have iridescent green plumage on their backs and wings. How could I replicate that? I'm not sure if this is an actual "technique" or if I just made it up . . . but I took my SU! Lumiere and mixed a bit of Old Olive reinker in it. Once I got the color I wanted I used my finger to give a light coating of paint to the 4th step stamp of the hummingbird. I also used it to stamp the sentiment "Thanks" (included in the set). I really does have a very neat iridescent look! I will definitely be trying this again!
One final note, tonight is the very last night you have to enter the What's Cookin' With Your Kitchen Sink Stamps contest! You could win free stamps!! Plus all the past winners (including this months) will be entered into a drawing to win this entire release - all 5 sets!! Please check out the contest blog for all the details, but get your submissions in tonight by midnight!
