Welcome Blog Hoppers!!

Welcome to the Hop! I have to tell you this was a busy busy week for me and I almost removed my name from the Blog Hop list yesterday. Some friends from church had a baby yesterday, we received the call at 2:30 Thursday morning since we were to watch their almost 2 year old. With not much sleep that night and then taking care of 5 busy children 6 and under I was pooped! But then I got the email that I was one of the 25 randomly chosen blogs to be on the Featured List . . . phew I better get hopping!! :)

So if you are here just for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - Welcome!! I'm so excited to participate tonight! I am very excited to see what everyone came up with - it always amazes me how many different projects people can come up with using 1 challenge!! Be sure to check them all out and cast your votes back at the PTI forum.

Here is my card. I just love the new colors at PTI this month - and the way Nicole put this sheet of little squares of the patterned paper together is very neat! I thought about cutting it all up but decided I like seeing it all together. I wanted to use the new Father Knows Best set and ended up stamping the tree on a sheet of acetate. I cut out a white circle and a Spring Moss scalloped circle using my Nestabilities and layered them under the acetate. I then used Antique Copper brads in every other scallop to hold down the acetate on top of the card. The picture makes it look a bit fuzzy - it's not, trust me! :)

To finish it up I added some Spring Moss ribbon with one of the Sentiments from Father Knows Best layered right on top of the ribbon - which BTW I cut straight on the ends (looks a bit more masculine that way doesn't it?).

I just love the way the acetate changes the color and texture of the Palette inks! I used Chartreuse here because the Spring Moss was just too light on the acetate.

I think my father or father-in-law will really like this card! I hope you enjoyed your visit and have fun during the rest of the party! I'd be so honored and thrilled if you like my card enough to vote for me - but I'm sure the voting is going to be tough! :) Have a great night everyone!!

Cardstock: Lemon Tart, Sample paper created by Nicole Heady, Georgia Pacific White, Stamps: Father Knows Best (PTI), Inks: Spring Moss, Burnt Umber Palette, Accessories: Antique Copper brads, Nestabilities, Acetate sheet, Spring Moss Grosgrain ribbon, glue dots
