School Days

Good Morning all! I have a couple of quick cards to show you today. First up is one of the cards from my WCMD event. We all had a great time at the Raven Hill Orchard. It was a beautiful day and they had some really yummy cinnamon rolls for us!!! We made 20 cards - 4 each of 5 designs. As I put the cards together I tried to keep them simple enough to mass produce efficiently yet still visually pleasing.

This card is one of my favorites - I think because I love the colors. It uses Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, WW, and Soft Sky. The background is wheeled using So Swirl with Wild Wasabi ink. The Soft Sky piece is a piece of the Designer Series paper in SS. The stamps are from True Friend. For the flower I just carefully inked the flower with Blue Bayou and then inked the stem with Wasabi - if you look closely you can see a bit of blue ink on the top of the stem but I think it's barely noticeable. The sentiment is done by stamping it twice and cutting & pasting the blue portion. The ribbon is Soft Sky stitched. The paper piercing was optional but a great addition if you just wanted to step it up a notch!

The next card is just one I've been playing with for a few days. Several weeks ago Lauren Meader (mytime) and I swapped some Bella images and I just now am getting to play with them. This is Teachabella - cute huh?? I used some great papers I bought as a suggested add-on to one of my MFT boxes from Paper Pretties. They are perfect because they have letters on the background paper. The "ruler" I made as well as the spiral notebook paper (using the SU spiral punch and some pencils to draw in the lines). The sentiment is My Favorite Things from the Back to School set and I handwrote the A+ (I was going to stamp it to make it bolder, but I didn't have the right sized letter!

Gotta run . . . we started school this week (a bit late, yes!!) and it's almost time. I hope to get some stamping done this afternoon - hope you do too!! Be sure to read the post below about a great way to get some new Copics and those super cool Nestabilities dies!! Have a great day!
