Orange Ladies
I've been working on this card for a couple of days now . . . in between getting ready for our picnic yesterday and all the other activities around here. The inspiration was a piece of patterned paper I recently saw at a shopping trip to Michaels. I believe the paper was from Martha Stewart's new line of paper craft supplies. It had rows and rows of pink ladybugs with orange spots and I thought the colors were interesting.
I'm not sure if I am entirely happy with this result, but . . . I liked the colors anyway. I first stamped the spots with Apricot Appeal craft ink and embossed them with clear EP. Then I stamped the wings using Versa Dewdrop ink in Petunia (I think). You have to be really careful that you don't smudge the ink (like I did) when you wipe it off the spots! I used some ribbon I won in the Creative Accents card contest a couple of months ago. I stamped "Celebrate" and the dots using my Burnt Umber Palette ink.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to stamp today, but it's so beautiful here we will probably be outside all day! Yea!!! Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day and have a terrific Tuesday!
Those colors are very pretty together, and I love the ribbon you chose. Love the embossing as well!

I love that it is not the traditional red and black...this is so much cooler! I think it is a great card!
