Another Birthday
My oldest turns 5 this month - unbelievable!! Where do the years go? I simply cannot believe it's been 5 years already. Well, this is the first year that she is going to have a party with her friends. Nothing huge, only 3 or 4 little girls over to help celebrate but she is very excited. I asked her what kind of invitation she wanted and being her mother's daughter she said a Bella card! :)
My last Stamping Bella order included Tinkerbella for Emma's birthday and yesterday we worked on her invitation. Of course, being a real girly-girl she wanted pink! Originally I tried to do a one of those neat trifold cards, but the image of Tinkerbella was too tall for the card (in the process I ruined at least 2 sheets of cardstock plus a piece of 12x12 trying to modify the size unsuccessfully) so I gave up that idea.
So we went with an open-in-the-middle type card (yes, I think that's the technical name!). Anyway, this card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. Oh, and since I don't have this size square envelopes, I'm going to have to try out JulieHRR's great envelope trick for square cards. (take a look, it's really neat!) As with the cards from last weekend's Stamp Camp, I used the OSW idea that I got from Michelle's blog Mish Mash. I love creating my own background paper with the new Petals wheel and coordinating sets, it comes out so cute and cheery!
Here is the inside of the invitation which I printed on my computer and added a few stamps to. Emma was very happy with the result, especially since we added plenty of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to Tinkerbella's wings and star wand, and used a Swarowski crystal to the flower in her hair. It's all about the bling for us girls isn't it??!! :)
