September TCP Tuesday - Paper Piecing!
Hellllllloooooooooo!! It's me again! We're just back from our annual camping vacation and are now easing into a happy Fall routine. Our school books are due to arrive today and it's always such an exciting day to see all the new books we'll be reading! Love it!
But today is also Tuesday - TCP Tuesday to be exact! This month Alma's challenged us to do some paper piecing. Now for your veterans out there, you probably paper piece in your sleep, but I know there are some of you out there that either don't because you're afraid or because you don't really get what it is. In simplest terms, paper piecing is stamping an image on patterned paper and cutting out a portion of it - for example, the dress, or in the case of my card today, the tent. You then stamp the image again on plain paper and adhere your "pieced" item on top! Simple really!
See how I cut the tent out of a plaid patterned paper? The larger the image, the easier it will be to cut out, but you can add all kinds of fun to your cards with paper piecing!!
You can see here that I used several of the newest products from The Cat's Pajamas. The stamp set is Under the Stars - love those cute penguins!! The fun banner was made using the new Bitty Banner CutUps dies which is just the neatest set of dies!!
Pop over to the TCP Forum at Splitcoaststampers and check out the thread for this month's challenge, we'd love to see your fun paper pieced cards! You may even earn yourself the Swanky Stamper title this month!
Gasp!! Love the camping scene you've created here Julie. Very creative.
