Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop!

Good morning!! THIS is a fun post and such a GREAT cause!! My friend and fellow Avocado Arts dt member Vera Yates is heading up her 3rd annual Caring Hearts Card Drive to collect holiday cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes.  Can you imagine the joy these cards must bring to these wonderful people who may not get to see family and loved ones much during the holidays?!  Please click on the image above to read all the details about the card drive and help out if you are able!

You should have started this hop on Vera's blog, that's where you'll find the complete list of hoppers (truly all amazing crafters!!) and a list of what companies have donated prizes for the hop (yes prizes! Woot, woot!!). If you started there you should have arrived here from the amazing AJ Otto's blog!

Since it's November and this is a Christmas/Holiday card drive it's only natural that we make Christmas cards - yea! I love this time of year! I used one of the newest Avocado Arts sets, Very Merry today.

This card was so much fun to make - I was looking through this Echo Park pad and once I saw the musical paper (and that it was The Christmas Tree!) I envisioned this card! I used the Digital Cut file that perfectly coordinates with the Very Merry set to cut the Christmas tree image from the patterned paper.  Then I stamped the tree image on the green paper and layered it behind the cutout = super fun effect!

The sentiment was also cut out with the Digital Cut file and then embossed with white ep. The lights were cut from more patterned paper. Pretty simple, but the effect is really special!

Now it's time to send you on to another teammate of mine, Kelly Eubanks, I just know she has something super for you!  Oh and remember the prizes? We have donations from Bella Blvd, Hero Arts. Lawn Fawn, Avocado Arts, May Arts, Two Peas In A Bucket and Jennifer McGuire (2 online classes).  The winners will be chosen from all the comments left on all the blog hop participates - the more you comment, the higher your chances are!  You have until Monday (11/5/12) at midnight to comment.
