Bold Celebrations!!
What an exciting day!! It's my very 1st post as a new member of the Avocado Arts Pit Crew!!! I'm thrilled to be joining them and to have more opportunities to use their fabulous stamps!! The Pit Crew Too is posting today (see this post if you missed the post on the 1st) using the July Stamp of the Month, Bold Celebrations!
So many possibilities with this fun set! I did some paper piecing and masking with the balloons and letters with lots of happy colors to go with! I also used a cute little stamp from the set to make the "streamers". The stamp is really meant to be a frosting decoration on the cake but don't let that stop you!! Think outside the box and see what you can come up with!
One other fun little tip - see the birthday banner above? The little tag that comes in the set wasn't quite long enough to hold "birthday" (although it holds 2 other cute sentiments in the set quite nicely!) so I inked up most of the stamp - meaning about the first 3/4 of the stamp- and stamped it. Then I cleaned my stamp and inked up the other side the same way - about 3/4 of it and stamped it right next to the previous one. Since these are clear stamps, it was super easy to match up the lines. Viola! A sentiment tag which perfectly hold "birthday"!
Thanks for coming by today! I hope you with check out the AA blog along with these other members of the Pit Crew for more inspiring work with this month's set!

I really like the tag-extension idea! Very simple fix ... but I would have never thought of it! THANKS for the inspiration - and your card is totally adorable. I love the happy balloons :)
ReplyDeleteOh this is just darling! Love the paper pieced balloons and how you spelled happy with them instead of doing the banner. Perfect!
