Bloom - TCP Blog Hop & TCP Tuesday 207

It's time for The Cat's Pajamas' post-release Blog Hop!  I hope you were able to pop in for a bit at our PJ Release Party (if not you can check out this thread on SCS to see all the great cards the Cat Pack shared!). All the new goodies are now available at The Cat's Pajamas.

But, it's also TCP Tuesday and since I'm the Hipster Hostess this week the Blog Hop starts here! :)  Since it's Spring and since several of the new CutUps dies can be used to create stunning flowers, our Technique challenge this to create some handmade flowers for your card!  You can use paper, felt, fabric, ribbon or anything you can imagine to create your blooms.  I know you won't have your new release goodies for a couple of days, BUT we do have many CutUps dies already that would work, like the Easy Rosette, Sunflower Rosette, Flower Buttons, and Lacy Floral Doily to name a few.

For my card today I used the new Bloom set and quite a few CutUps dies - I love how well they all work together besides just being great to use alone! Value people! :)

So to start I made my card 5" by 3.5" and die cut the Window CutUps right in the card and patterned paper.  To make my pretty floral wreath I used the Sunflower Rosette die - after I die cut the Sunflower, I used the center die and cut out the center of the Sunflower to make the wreath base.  The flowers were made with all the great little flower die cuts you get from the Lacy Floral Doily CutUps.  I learned the great little burnishing technique (to make them dimensional) from Miss Meowy when we met up last month in Boston (I think she's working on a video for you so stay tuned!).  The little potted flower at the bottom of the door is of course from the new Window CutUps die and the heart is one cut off of the Heart Border CutUps die.  Phew!

And here is the inside!  There's our sweet Bun Bun with his bouquet for you and more pretty flowers.  The grass was sponged on using the negative of the Grass CutUps die as a stencil. The clouds were done the same way, using the Cloud CutUps die - again, more ways to use your dies!!  (Oh, and in this pic you can also see the back of the wreath better!)

Long post . . .but thanks for sticking it out!! Next up is Susan!! She's sure to have something amazing!!  Be sure to end on Alma's blog for all the details on TCP Tuesday and you can also join us in the TCP Forum on SCS!  Have a great day everyone!
