TCP Tuesday 169 - We're Moving!

No, I'm not moving but the TCP Tuesday Challenge for this week is to use any The Cat's Pajamas stamp that features a "mode of transportation."  If it moves and gets a person (or bunny) from point A to point B, it counts!!  Check out the details and some of the Cat Packer's cards on the SCS thread HERE.

For my card I used the adorable Away We Go set and 2 of my favorite TCP CutUps dies, Cloud Border and Icing Border.

I also used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this one - it worked perfectly!  Don't you just love the bright, summery colors of the Echo Park paper?!!

Our network connectivity is pretty spotty here at the beach so I'm going to sign off.  But do check out Alma's blog for all the details and we'd love it if you played along with us!

Fresh from the Garden!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Ours was sure busy - the girls came home from camp on Saturday.  It was wonderful to see them and hear about all the fun adventures they had all week!

I have a quick little set of cards to share today for Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday using some of the newest KSS sets, Multi-Step Tomatoes, Multi-Step Lettuce and Multi-Step Baskets.   I hadn't shown you the Basket set yet but it's such a great set!  There are 3 sizes of the basket. For this card I used the middle sized basket and I used the cherry tomato to fill it.

I kept the layout fairly simple, adding a bit of texture with a woodgrain embossing plate on the cardbase.  I used the same layout for the lettuce card, just changing the edge of the solid panel.

I think this set of cards, perhaps adding a few more of each, would make such a nice hostess gift or treat for your favorite gardener!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the KSS Crew has for you today!  Thanks for visiting today - have a great day!!

Fluttering By - TCP Tuesday 168

Good morning!  Have you seen the newest TCP Tuesday challenge yet?  Tori is our Hipster Hostess with the Mostest this week and she's given us some really fun colors! Check it out:

Yummy right?  :)  I started out with Jen's July SFYTT and one of the new sets from The Cat's Pajamas, Flutter By.  The dp is all Country Drive from Echo Park that I picked up at i {heart} papers.  Here's what I came up with:

I interpreted the Watermelon Red color to be more on the pinky side.  I just love these colors together!  As you can see I used a few CutUps and dies available at TCP - the Grass CutUps die of course and the new Cloud Border CutUps die which I used to emboss the clouds on the background panel.  I love that these dies are so versatile and I can emboss my clouds!  I also used the Exotic Butterflies dies that are available at TCP.

How about that cute little Seam Binding Rosette??? Well, after watching the new video tutorial Alma made (which you can view HERE) I had to try one out myself!! Aaaaahh, if you haven't gotten any of the new TCP Seam Binding you really must try it, it's so luscious!

I even finished the inside this time!!  A great excuse to use another Exotic Butterfly! :)

Check out Alma's blog for all the TCP Tuesday details and go ahead, give it a try!!  Stay cool my friends!

Butterflies

Hello!  Remember me?  This summer is flying by and like everyone else, we're busy but having a great time!  I thought I'd pop in today and share a card from last week's New Release at The Cat's Pajamas.  I know a lot of you have received your orders and we're looking forward to seeing lots of new projects!

This card was made with very little stamping, basically just the sentiment which is from Fluttery By.  But I used the brand new Lacey Butterfly CutUps die along with the Exotic Butterflies die which coordinates beautifully!!  This card is pretty tall, I think around 8" or so, but I just love seeing all the pretty colors together!

Each butterfly is only adhered at the center so that the wings can be lifted up for an airy look.  I love how the antennae on the little butterfly layers perfectly on the big Lacey Butterfly!

I'm not sure I want to give this card away - lol!  I might look for a frame to put it in and enjoy for a bit more.  Think of all the color combinations and possibilities here!! You could go crazy!! :)

My girls are off to camp tomorrow so we're busy packing and getting ready today.  Have a great weekend my friends!

TCP Tuesday 167 - Watercoloring

Good morning!  It's time again for another TCP Tuesday challenge and I'm the Hostess With the Mostest this week which means it's a Technique/Supply Challenge.  I don't know about you but ever since I got my Copic markers that's basically the only way I color these days!! What did we ever do before Copics??  Well, for one, we Watercolored!  Let's pull out our Niji Brushes, fill them up since the water is most likely evaporated, and get coloring!

I have to admit that my very CAS card took me almost longer than a layered card, mostly due to the fact that I am out of practice watercoloring! LOL!  But there is something so relaxing and therapeutic about using a bit of water and color, it's fun to see things evolve and colors blend. It does take some patience though, waiting for those colors to dry before you layer on more (not my strong suit!!).

Ever since I saw this Nesting set I thought about making this card and since the set includes line art as well as solid image stamps it was perfect for this challenge!

I wanted the birds to have a gradient effect and a slightly messy watercolor finish - it just feel more flowy and free to me, you think?  When adding the Divine Twine for the wire I simply poked holes on either side of the birdies and thread it through.

I hope you'll join us this week and brush up your watercoloring skills - hee hee!  Be sure to visit Alma's blog for all the details and to add your link.  That way you'll have a chance at winning some Cat Cash or maybe even the Swanky Stamper title!  Have a great day my friends!

KSS Release Day!!

Good morning peeps!  What a glorious week we've had - I hope your weather has been nice too!  My husband is back to work today and so am I, at least fun work! :) Kitchen Sink Stamps is having a NEW RELEASE TODAY - woo hoo!!  It's been a while but so worth the wait!  Maria has really cooked up some fabulous sets!  This is what is brand new today:

How about instead of the chit chat, I just show you?  First up is a great little blank notebook - incidentally available in the KSS Store, it's a 5 x 8 Kraft Journal and comes lined or unlined - that we made at our recent KSS Workshop in Ohio.

As you can see I've used the Zinnia and the Seed Packet sets here.  I absolutely love, love zinnias and these are so pretty and lush!! The color possibilities are endless!  The Seed Packet set is one you will definitely use over and over - it will work with SO many of the other KSS floral sets! It's really fun to play with all the elements included!

Here's another project done using the Seed Packet set - see, awesome right?! :)  And how about that yummy lettuce?  I love how full it is!  I made this card to open from the top, with a little magnetic closure.  On the inside I made a pocket where you could add a gift card for some cash.  "Lettuce Celebrate" {hee hee}!

Take a spin around and visit the rest of the Kitchen Sink Stamps crew - I bet you'll get to see the other sets and then you'll want them all!! LOL!   You MUST check out the New Storage Option available in the store - oh my goodness, I need 2 cases of them!! :)  And don't forget to use coupon code JULIE10KSS for 10% off you order today and everyday!!  Have a great day!

I went with the birthday theme and used the sweet little bunny from Forget About the Cake. I also used the Flower Button CutUps dies to create the pretty Felt flowers and tissue flower.

Don't forget to check out Alma's blog for all the details about TCP Tuesday and how you could win Cat Cash just for playing along . . . there's also a chance to be this month's Swanky Stamper!  Have a great day!

Bestest Friend

Good morning!  Just popping in quickly before we head to the lake for the day - hurray for sunny summer days!! :)  You all know The Cat's Pajamas release was Tuesday and I have a card or two that I made for the release but haven't had a chance to share yet.

Here's a quick little CAS card made with Kick Some Grass.  The measures roughly 4.75' x 3.5".  I just picked 4 colors that I liked, cut 1" strips and adhered them to a strip on the back to keep them nice and tight.

I colored the image with coordinating colors but wanted to keep it pretty light and airy feeling so Mr. Bunny is just shaded on the edges with grays.

I die cut the clouds using TCP's fabulous new Cloud Border CutUps die and just snipped apart two of the clouds.  Then I ran them through a Xyron machine and gave them a nice coating of glitter - who doesn't love sparkly clouds?

We're off for a fun day!  Here's wishing you all a wonderful holiday weekend!! :)
