Gingerbread Birthday

We have a birthday coming up in our house next week. Anna turns 6 on Tuesday!  Where does the time go?  Well Anna decided that she wanted to have a gingerbread themed birthday this year.  My mom will be making her a cute little house cake that resembles a gingerbread house.  We will mostly likely end up making gingerbread cookies to accompany the cake - especially since as my girls tell the story, I "promised" we would do this!  LOL  Does this happen to other moms too?  If you even hint at the mere possibility of something you wake up the next morning to discover that at some point you "promised" to do that very thing??

So of course Anna needed gingerbread invitations this year and right away I thought of my sweet friend Claire from Waltzingmouse Stamps and her Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy stamp set, plus there were a couple of other sets that popped into my cart since I was already there - *wink, wink*!!  But really, these gingerbread are the sweetest and all the other goodies included in the set made it super easy to come up with this invitation!

I printed the invitation on the computer, stamped the "frame" using different elements from the set and then stamped the gingerbread, cut it out and popped it up on the card.  Of course, he had to be embellished with a bit of bling - it is a party after all! :)

Anna loved them and that's all that really matters but I sure had fun playing with this cute set - now to make the birthday card!  Have a great day my friends!
