KSS Go Green Challenge
Monday already? And June too! That means it's a new Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew Challenge for you to participate in. Check out all the details on the KSS blog, but your entries are due by June 19 and there are 3 fabulous KSS prizes up for grabs!
The challenge this month comes from Lynn - Going Green: "Like most responsible people, I'm trying to become a better citizen of Planet Earth and have been looking for opportunities to reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle! I thought surely some of this miscellaneous trash could fit into paper crafting somewhere!! So my challenge to you this month is to take some previously used non-stamping item that is headed for the trash can and turn it into a component in your Kitchen Sink project either as a layer or embellishment of some sort! Trash to Treasure so to speak!"
On Saturday, our family had a nice picnic supper at the beach - it was a gorgeous day here! After we ate our supper the children were off hunting for seashells and came home with all sorts of bits & pieces of shells. I decided to make Anna something to hold her treasures! Now, I use these little tic tac boxes to store brads and small embellishments in. When purchased at Walmart they come packaged in a larger clear plastic box. I knew it come in handy someday!
This was such a quick and easy project. I simple adhered some pretty patterned paper around the edge and top and then stamped my label using a combination of Kitchen Sink Stamps, Alphabet Buddy and 1/2 Pint Alphabet Buddy. I then used 3 Step Sea Shells to make some fun colored seashells which were then cut out and adhered to the top of the box. One of Anna's favorite finds, a crab claw became the final embellishment for the top.
Anna was so excited to get this special place to house her stamps and she especially loved the crab claw part - lol!
Please visit the rest of the KSS Crew members and see what their treasured trash is! :) Have a great day! Oh, and remember to use the code "JULIE10KSS" when you shop in the Kitchen Sink Stamps store for 10% off your purchse!
