Gliding By . . .
Thanks everyone for the get well wishes!! I'm not sure what it is I have but it's not fun - but I sure appreciate all the good wishes!!!
I popped in at the Paper Pretties Stamping In Your Jammies party for a few minutes last night before heading to bed. It was sad to miss out on the fun but I did get a chance to make one of the challenge cards. The challenge was to make a card designed for a child. This was perfect timing! My Anna turns 5 on Monday and we have been planning to send out little invites to the grandparents (doesn't matter that it's short notice for grandparents - lol!). She saw my newest Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month Club stamp and had to have it on her invitation!!
Introducing Gliding By! Isn't she the cutest??!! Anna also picked the colors - she wanted red & white (oh and she did want pink but once I got started it just didn't work out). She loves the card though - of course she's pretty easy to please! :) I wanted to make her a little extra special so I paper pieced her cape and skates using some pretty shimmery white paper. I then colored the dots and the trim red with a Copic marker (be careful to let it dry or else you get smudge!). The blades were colored with a silver paint pen.
The ear and hand muffs just begged to be flocked - I mean really!!! So red flocking was perfect. For the strip in the back I had to try out Mish's little trick (we're friends - I can call you that right Mish :) ??!) for making candy striped paper - fabulous!! I'll be making more of that for sure!! Some pretty silver paper, red grosgrain, a vellum scalloped circle mat and silver brads - perf!
Here's a shot of the inside - just a few quick facts to use as a reminder! Looking at it now I should have added some striped paper on the inside . . . may have to go back and do that later!
I'll be back a bit later today to pick a Jules Jewels winner so until then, have a terrific Tuesday!!
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Vellum Cardstock, Silver (SU!), Shimmer paper (Bo Bunny) Stamps: Gliding By (Paper Pretties), Faux Ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Accessories: Glue pen, Red Fun Flock (Stampendous), Silver Brads (Pink Hedgehog Crafts), Red Grosgrain (Papertrey Ink), Cuttlebug Swirl embossing folder, Nestabilities, Silver Paint pen, Copic Markers,
Can I just say one thing? ADORABLE!!!!!
