KSS Crew Challenge #2
Happy Kitchen Sink Day!! Today is our 2nd KSS Crew Challenge and it comes from one of our newest members, Angela. She found this cool kitchen photo and challenged us to use it as our inspiration piece.
Those who know me well know that I LOVE dishes!! Before I was married and had children I loved to hit the antique shops in search of fun dishes - I have a nice collection of LuRay, Blue Ridge Pottery, my great-aunts china, and several miscellaneous antique and more contemporary (by that I mean not antiques) sets. So when I saw this picture (which is credited to Rachel Denbow) I was so happy - I just love the fun, vintage feeling - the colors definitely say vintage!
I decided to make some Thanksgiving placecards using the colors and some ultra-strong magnets I picked up at Staples a long time ago (I just knew someday I would use them!) I covered the centers of the magnets (which were kinda ugly) using pretty October Afternoon paper I picked up at Emma's Paperie. I used several Kitchen Sink Stamps set, 3 Step Turkey Trot, Playful Ovals, and Mix-It Up Monograms & Alphabets.
The oval outline stamps from Playful Ovals works perfectly with the Oval Nestabilities so that was great! I used Tempting Turquoise for the scalloped oval and the ink for the names. I was going to make the turkeys with a mix of really funky colors but chickened out - lol! I did stamp them all separately and cut them out. The oval simple fit between the two magnets which sit nicely on the table - nothing too fancy there!
Please take the time to visit the other KSS Crew members (Maria, Tammy, Dee, Lori, Nicole,Lynn, Angela) and see what they made for the challenge. Then get out your stamps and play along!! If you do, be sure to add a link to your project here - I'd love to see!!
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise (SU!), Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, Stamps: 3 Step Turkey Trot, Mix-It-Up Monograms & Alphabets, Playful Ovals, Ink: More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Potter's Clay, Rich Cocoa, Cantaloupe (Memento), Spring Moss (PTI), Accessories: Nestabilities, magnets
