My Non-Submission
So, as I was sitting down yesterday to upload my submissions for the PTI Guest Star Stamper it dawned on me . . . those were due Tuesday night by midnight!!! ARRGGHH! What a dummy I am! I've had them done for a couple of weeks . . . just got lazy and didn't upload them! Oh well, it wasn't meant to be! :) Now I can share them with you!
As you know, Aaron's 1st birthday was May 2nd. One of his first words (besides mama and dada) was "turtle." There is an old stuffed turtle that was mine on a shelf in his room. Every time I go in his room to get him out of bed, he points up to the turtle and laughs. After a while, he learned to say tur-tle. Cute, huh? So a turtle themed party seemed to be the perfect thing . . . and PTI's new Pond Life set fit the bill!
First, there's the invitation. It seemed to take me forever to come up with the design - my thought process started in a totally different direction. But once I hit on this idea everything came together! I bought these cute Making Memories die cut tags at Target a month or so ago - the perfect mat for the invitation! I came up with the little poem and printed it out on the computer. The turtle's spots are done with flocking! It's Balboa Blue that I ordered from Eclectic Paperie. It really adds some great texture to the cute little turtle!
Next is Aaron's actual birthday card. I used pretty much the same elements just changing the design around. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from It's a Celebration and how perfect that Pond Life has the "My Son" sentiment!
Finally, we needed the Thank You cards. These cards are 3.75 square. I thought the little bubbles made a cute little caption leader to the sentiment. I love having a nice coordinated little package - it will go in his scrapbook someday.
Of course, a turtle cake was needed. I'm not the best cake decorator but the colors came out pretty good and Aaron seemed to like it! :)
Ok, next month will someone remind me to submit by the 13th!??! :) Have a great day everyone!
