This and That . . .
Another quick one - but really, you like that right?? :)The very talented and very nice Amy Westerman is having a blog contest. She is challenging you to make a business card! Doesn't that sound fun! I knew right away that I had to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!!
I'm so pleased with the final product (although the pictures do not do them justice at all- I may try once more to get a better picture!) and they only took me about 10 minutes to make once I had the idea. They measure 2 x 3.5 so there isn't a lot of room, but it's just enough to make a statement. So I thought, how can I reflect myself, how can it be "me"? Well, I love my blog banner that Beth Silaika designed for me, I love the "Precious Stampin Jewels" as a lot of my friends call me Jules, so why not use that as my inspiration.
I created 2 different layouts on my computer but stamped them the same. I used my Flourishes clear set by Autumn Leaves and Snow Flurries from SU! I stamped the snowflake (which I'm hoping resembles a jewel) with craft Certainly Celery ink and embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP. The swirls are stamped with Soft Sky. Then just to make it really pop I added a Swarovski crystal to the middle of one of the gems. This may not work for large, mass production but for the number I need I think I can manage. Oh and one is backed with Certainly Celery and the other with Soft Sky cardstock.
So there they are and I LOVE THEM! Hope you give this a try, it was really fun! I'll leave you with 2 pictures I snapped of Aaron today - he's getting so big, smiles all the time and is just such a happy baby! (I know the one is a bit shiny but I just love it!!) Thanks for coming by, have a great weekend!!
