Technique Class #1
Here we go . . . for those of you who have been stamping forever, this will probably be nothing new. I've been stamping faithfully and obsessively for about 5 years now and I'm still learning neat new stuff! The first, rock & roll, I learned last fall. (Oh, if you click on a picture you will get a larger image).
Start with a solid image stamp, I used a flower from Paint Prints and 2 color inks (Pretty in Pink & Regal Rose). Always stamp the lighter color first so that you don't contaminate your stamp pad. After stamping the light color, roll the stamp around the edges on the darker pad (hence, rock & roll). Then stamp your paper and look at the fabulous, never-the-same, multicolored image! Experiment with different color combinations (the second flower uses Almost Amethyst and Lavender Lace) and different stamps.
The pumpkins from Carved & Candlelit work really well. The pumpkin on the left uses More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie. The one on the right uses Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust. The crocodile from Wild About You, uses Green Galore & Glorious Green.
Give it a try and let me know how you do and what you come up with. It's a lot of fun to work with different color combinations and pictures! Ok, tomorrow I will post the faux tearing technique . . . my children are screamin' for me! :) Until next time . . .
Great tutorial! I will be stopping in often to see what you are doing. Nice site.
