Happy For You

I had such a fun time with our white challenge on Prettie Wednesday that I decided to do another one - not all white this time, but more of a "clean & simple" look.

I know I've said this before but I just love these adorable stick people from Rubber Soul! There's something about the simplicity that just makes them irresistible! This set is appropriately called Baby and it's perfect for anything baby related. Even better - it's on sale right now along with a bunch of other cute sets and singles. Check them all out here. The frame on this card was stamped using Backgrounds (also on sale!) I actually stamped it twice and cut out the center of one so that I could pop-up the cute little family. The little dp strip along the bottom is from the diVine Collection paper pack.

A Dirty Challenge

Have you seen the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges going on over at Splitcoaststampers this week?! I have seen such beautiful cards and some fun challenges! If you are a member of the Fan Club (and if not, why???) you get to play along with them!! I had a little time this afternoon so I played along with Jenn Balcer's inspiration challenge - the cake she chose as the inspiration piece is simply amazing!!

I've had this Rubber Romance stamp for quite a while without using it and since the inspiration piece is a cake . . well it was time!! :) You may not be able to see it in the photo, but the black paper has embossed lines about 1/4" around the whole piece - then the gems are placed in the 4 corners. I just love the black, white and green (Rose Ann's card here was the first I saw yesterday and I LOVE it!!). I colored the image with Copic markers using big streaky strokes without much blending to enhance the sketchy look of the stamp. I also didn't want too much color so I mostly used the Cool Shadow marker.

Swap Card

A couple of weeks ago I hosted my very first swap! Now I've participated in several but never hosted before so this was a lot of fun. The swap was hosted on a Yahoo group for members of Paper Pretties (and if you are a member of PP and have not signed up, please go here and do so!!). We have weekly challenges (with prizes), monthly Stamping In Your Jammies (with prizes), swaps, new about the Paper Pretties Corner Store, shipping updates and lots more!!

So my swap was a Rubber Romance swap and there were 2 groups. I participated in Group 2 and we got some really pretty card!! This was the card that I made. I used Tiffany with Basic Grey Mellow paper. I stamped Tiffany using Palette ink in Burnt Umber. I paper pieced her raincoat and on the umbrella and boots used Crystal Effects to make them shiny and pretty. I'll be taking pictures of the other cards and will show you them another day.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the day with my in-laws - lots of food, lots of laughter! It was Aaron's first Thanksgiving! Have a great weekend everyone!

Rainy days . . .

Well today is a rainy day here in the Northeast, but it hasn't gotten me "down" today! :) There are just so many exciting things going on! The days are flying by . . . have you ever noticed how fast a week can go??

Ok, enough chatter, since it was rainy today I decided it was the perfect time to use another of my new stamps from the Paper Pretties Corner Store. I am officially in love with these Rubber Romance stamps! This is Tiffany - she looks like a Tiffany doesn't she? I just love the hair blowing in the breeze and her styling raincoat! Go check these out in the store - there are so many great ones - plus there are a ton of products on sale right now!! Great deals!! :)

So for this card I used some scraps of Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl Sofia - love the soft colors in the paper. Tiffany's raincoat is paper pieced with the Sofia paper. I used an old sketch of mine that I love - it works great for large images! The ribbon is some I got from Michaels earlier in the year). The sentiment is A Muse.

Rubber Romance #1

Here's the card I promised yesterday. My very first Rubber Romance card. I love this stamp, Retro Robin. She's so chic and sassy looking. I can see her strolling down 5th Avenue or through Central Park on a Sunday afternoon.

I used my paper from Webster's Pages, these are from the Pink Lemonade collection and I love them!! I paper pieced her pants and hat - love them!! (again, broken record I know, but IRL the colors are so much prettier.) This paper is just so nice to work with!! I used Bazzill Lizard cardstock, Groovy Guava, Basic Black and WW SU! cardstock. The ribbon is olive velvet and the huge green Bazzill Bling Brad are from the Paper Pretties store. The sentiment and the dots under it are from Papertrey Ink (Green Thumb and Faux Ribbon).

I may just have to do a swap on SCS as well but I'll let you know about that. These Rubber Romance stamps are so much fun!
