A Sprinkle of Inspiration
Have you ever designed a whole card around 1 embellishment or item? I'm not sure that I have before but that's what happened yesterday. Remember my treats from hubby package? In that package were these Queen & Co., Mini Sprinkle Brads Waves (that's the color name). They are the cuuutest little brads ever - about the half the size of a normal brad. They have been sitting my desk for a couple of months now and I have been wanting to use them so badly, just haven't had the right moment. Until now!
I got out my new My Favorite Things set yesterday, Baby It's Cold Outside, that be in the November Paper Pretties card package (and ONLY available there until MFT releases it in Dec.). I saw the snowman's little buttons and thought what a perfect spot to use my sprinkle brads!! So this whole card, with it's color combo was designed around the brads! A really fun thing too is that the pretty American Craft ribbon I used was a little treat Christie sent me a few weeks ago - and it matched perfectly - in color and design! Cardstock: Cool Caribbean, Brilliant Blue, Shimmery White, Basic Grey Celery

Ink: Brilliance Black, Versamark, Brilliant Blue, Cool Caribbean
Accessories: Prismacolor markers, SU markers, watercolor crayons, Queen & Co., Sprinkle Mini Brads, American Crafts ribbon, Liquid Applique, Iridescent Ice EP, dimensionals
The layout was yesterdays Sketch Challenge on SCS - I just had to move my center image over a smidge because of the knot in the ribbon.

This is a very pretty card Julie. I like it. I haven't seen those sprinkle brads before. They could be a lot of fun.

ReplyDeleteOooh! Those little brads are too cute! It's nice to see things used on a project! It's so much easier to tell what they really look like vs. seeing a picture of them in a store. Really cute card! Your hubby definitely deserves some brownie points!
