TCP New Release Blog Hop!

Good morning and welcome to The Cat's Pajamas After Party Blog Hop!! Last night was so much fun chatting with all you TCP fans out there - and I know there were some lurkers . . .come on out and play next time! ;)

You should have started on Alma's blog for the hop today so if you didn't - go back, I'll wait!  But if you came from Kimberly's blog then you're in the right place and I'm the last stop on your hop!

My card today uses the newly released Traveling Man set.  I loved the sentiment about road construction and it made me think of long lines of cars so that's what inspired my card.  I stamped the image once and then masked off the luggage rack and stamped it again.

The sentiment was stamped on one of the new Luggage Tag CutUps in a chalkboard style. I used a craft knife and cut a little slit in the image panel so that I could stick the tag down in behind it, that way it didn't cover the image but it also can be pulled out and used as a bookmark or you could write a little message on the back.

Thanks for sticking with us on this hop!  Hop over to The Cat's Pajamas website now and check out the new products available!  I can't wait to see what you make with these new stamps - be sure to share with us in the Member Forum at SCS!  Have a super swanky day!

Sneaky Peek Week Day 6!!

Day 6 of Sneaky Peek week at The Cat's Pajamas!! Just in case . . . tomorrow is the PJ Release Party in the TCP Member Forum at SCS.  Monday, 8 pm EDT - there will be lots of fun, games, prizes, you know, all the fun stuff!

Today we're peeking a really, really cool set!! Small Sayings is packed with great little shapes and great little sentiments that fit perfectly within the shapes. The really cool thing is that one of the DieCuts sets being released, Talk To Me is a perfectly coordinate die for each shape!! You can make arrows, and clouds, and word bubbles and do much more!  I seriously have had the most fun with this set and the dies!!

So for this card I did something really fun, I made my own stencil using the CutUps coordinating does and some Ranger Mask material!  It was so fun and quick to whip up this card by sponging through the stencil directly on to the card front. The small sentiments were then added and the large one is from Traveling Man.

The only finishing touches needed werea bit of bling and some Divine Twine wrapped around the top and bottom!

Please check out Alma's blog and the Member Forum on SCS for a list of who's peeking today.  Remember to join in and chat on the In It To Win It thread for a chance to win this set!  Thanks for joining me today!

Future's Bright with Avocado Arts!

This month's Avocado Arts Stamp of the Month set, Future's Bright is super terrific!  What's great about this set is that it covers so many areas - it's great for photographers, scrappers, graduates, students and so much more!!  I had fun playing with the different elements of this set, and the coordinating digital cut file.  AND there are even more Digital Die Cut files and Digital Printable Card Kits that coordinate with this set - check them all out!!

First up is a little mixed media inspired tag that I created as a graduation gift tag.  I was recently creating a different tag and had some ink left on my craft sheet which I cleaned up with this tag.  I set it aside knowing that the perfect time would come - viola!

So since the background colors and stencil was already there I just added some of the great elements of Future's Bright to it!  I stamped the sunburst in the center, masked it and then stamped the "Future's So Bright" sentiment over the square.  Then I lightly drew a box around it to make it stand up from the page a bit.  I stamped a bunch of the stars all over the tag and "Congrats" across the bottom.

Lastly, I stamped the funky glasses on some book paper, cut them out and added them using some Gel Medium.  The "Class of 2013" was added using Avocado Type - love the style of lettering!!

Next, is a fun card using the lightbulb image.  This is pretty much the chalkboard technique but using and image instead of words.  I stamped and embossed the lightbulb onto black cardstock.  I used red and yellow Prismacolors to add some coloring and lines and then sponged on white ink inside the light bulb and around it.

Again, my love of washi tape pops up and it seemed to be the perfect thing to finish this card off - oh and the bling, can't forget the bling!

Finally a little CAS number for you.  I had a seen a card similar to this somewhere (although I cannot remember where!), having a picture hanging from a tiny clothespin, seemed cute!  For my version I used the coordinating Ditigal Cut file and my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the Polaroid shape and the "you" for the sentiment.

A bit of brightly colored patterned paper gives a little pop of color and some layered bling and sequins add just the right little touches I think.

That's my line up for today.  Hope you've been inspired by something you've seen and that you'll pop over to Avocado Arts and pick up this month's set, Future's Bright! Thanks so much for checking out my card!

TCP Sneaky Peek Day 4!

Good morning!  It's Day 4 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas and today we're showing you Reel Experts!  Our favorite trio of troublemakers is back and what an awesome stamp for all the little (and big) fishermen in your life!  I can totally see my 3 boys here!

I think you could go all out and make a really cute scene for this but I kept it CAS and I love it!  The penguins require so little coloring this was really a fast card!

The sentiments that Alma creates for all of TCP's sets are really gorgeous and this is no exception!  She really has a gift!

I used a bit of washi tape to "ground" my image and then created a little washi bow, which still would be ok for a guy I think! :)

Head over to the TCP Forum on SCS and Alma's blog for a list of who's peeking today.  Don't forget to chat with us on the In It To Win It thread - this set could be yours! Have a great day!
