TCP Tuesday 174

Good morning friends!  We have a new TCP Tuesday challenge this week from our Hipster Hostess Susan! She wants us to use any TCP stamp with wings (and yes, we're letting penguins qualify for this one! *wink*)!   Lots of choices, but since I knew I was going to use Jen's August Sketch For You To Try the set that came to mind for me was Ship Happens - I love the cute little trio of penguins in their teacup boat!

I think I've done this before but I used the awesome, real Birch Veneer Paper from the The Cat's Pajamas store to piece the "boat".  This wood paper is so easy to use, it cuts very nicely and since it's very light in color you can use markers to make it any shade you'd like!

The sketch just seemed perfect with that main panel tilted, it screamed for waves! :) The Wave CutUps die is one of my favs! (Do I say that a lot??)  The patterned paper is Echo Park Splash and was a no-brainer too!  The super cute little sentiment was from another TCP set, Whale of a Time!  I also had a chance to make one of my favorite little sailor's knots with Orange Divine Twine, so much fun!

Visit Alma's blog for the details and to sign the guestbook once you've finished your project - we loving seeing what you come up with!!  While you're at it, come chat with us in the TCP Forum on Splitcoaststampers!

One more thing, when I was feeling yucky all day Sunday from some strange, but thankfully only 24-hour bug, Emma decided to help me with my design team duties and made this adorable card for the challenge!!  Isn't she great! :)

Seeds of Kindness

Good morning!  Sorry to be a bit late again today, some kind of bug hit me yesterday and I'm just pulling out today!  Thankfully we didn't have any hurricane damage at our house but I know there are a lot of people without power and with water damage so our prayers go out to them!!

I created me card today with Connie's Friday Card Sketch from the Kitchen Sink Stamps Forum.  I'm tell you what, it's so nice to have a place to go for sketches when you need that boost!! :)  I pulled out the new Multi-Step Zinnia set from KSS which I love and stamped a whole panel of different color zinnias.  Just seeing all the pretty colors makes me happy!  I think I need to try some in blues  ... oooohh!!  I took all of my color recipes from Maria's wonderful color chart for zinnias (which I'll see if she can post).

Ok, short post today, off to find out what the children are yelling about - lol!  Please visit the rest of the KSS Crew today and have a beautiful day!

TCP Tuesday 173

Good morning!! It may be Friday but I have my TCP Tuesday card for you today. The fabulous Tori has an awesome color combo for us - remember I love orange! :)

I used this opportunity to make a cute little card for my hubby.  In all the craziness of the last few weeks we did get to celebrate our anniversary but we never got to exchange cards (how sad, right?!).  Since we got bicycles from his parents as our anniversary gift I thought this set, Wheel Love, from The Cat's Pajamas would be perfect!!

It was so fun making another little Seam Binding rosette with TCP's luscious new Seam Binding!!  I think I may need to restock this color soon - I seem to reach for it a lot!!  And it was perfect that the TCP Singing the Blues Felt has the perfect cornflower blue color for my little Flower Button CutUps behind the rosette!

I added a bit of Fun Flock to the bunny's tale using the new ScrapHappy Glue that Alma is now carrying at TCP.  If you haven't checked it out - it's really cool!  You can make your own killer glots (glue dots) with it, plus use it for almost any application!

Check out Alma's blog for all the details on TCP Tuesday.  We hope you play along with us - come on over to the TCP Forum on Splitcoaststampers to chat with us too! :)

10 Minute Card - Really!!

Good morning!  It's been a while but hopefully you've been enjoying the last of the summer like we have!  I also am still laptopless (eeks!!) which makes it very difficult to get things done timely!

I have a quicky today but I love the look!  I went back to one of Lynn's awesome 10 Minute Monday Challenges  from the Kitchen Sink Stamps Forum and gave it a try!  I have to say it pretty much worked too! :)  I am not known as a speedy stamper/cardmaker but if the layout is done and the idea basically there (plus I used one of Maria's fabulous color recipes from Stamping Around Ohio) it's a cinch!!

I used Multi-Step Tomato from Kitchen Sink Stamps with the following inks:

All Memento inks:  Step 4 - Rhubarb Stalk, Step 3 - Lady Bug Red, Step 2 - Tangelo, Step 1 - Cantaloupe.

Since the layout was done and it was such a quick card I was able to back and add a few embellies to liven things up a bit!  :)  Take a few minutes to check out what the rest of the KSS Crew has made for your viewing pleasure today and as always thanks so much for stopping by!!
