I decided to start my own form of an art journal and since I didn't want to wait to order something I looked around and found a little blank recycled journal I had (can be found here). Its not really meant for this purpose and the pages are a bit thin, but I think if I add paper/cardstock to the pages I can make it work! (All my supplies are from eclectic Paperie and will be linked up at the bottom of this post).
I started with some vintage sheet music - sort of. I have a nice stash of it that belonged to my grandfather so you'll forgive me when I say that I cannot use it!! Instead, I scanned it and printed several sheets to use here. I simply tore it to size and Mod Podged it into the book. Next was the fun part! I used my Gelatos to add color - starting in the left corner I used 3 shade of pink/red and blended them with water and my fingers. The places where there was Mod Podge left you can see did not pick up the color but I kinda like the effect.
Next I added some different sized dots by making a template with a piece of acetate and a circle punch. I used Picket Fence Distress Ink which gives the dots a nice opaque look! The stamps are from Wplus9, Cupid's Arrow.
Page 2 needed a little something, but actually I started with this piece. It's a piece of Metal Foil Tape Sheet which was embossed and then rubbed with Picket Fence Ink Stain. I then used my Heart Trio CutUps die to make a heart stencil which I used with Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste (that stuff is so much fun!). Once the paste dried I was going to paint it but I decided the white was a better contrast with all the pink. So I stuck the tin sheet to the page and added a border with some pretty washi tape. The little dodads in the left corner are simply rub-ons.
There you have it! Lots of fun to make since really there are no mistakes, you just keep playing and creating until you like what you've done - add a little, add a lot, it's up to you!! Why not give it a try?!

oohhhh I love it, especially the metail foil sheet.
